Most effective tip? Lemon juice and water spray..I finish with aquifer lotion to rub the peeled parts to prolong decay from happening.

Very good tutorial. Never done this before. Thx for the tips. Have to carve a pumpkin with my kids next week in kindergarten. Now I feel more confident.
A very nice video. I find however, that it's better to carve out the bottom of the pumpkin rather than the back. Cutting out a hole from the back can be seen (so it isn't seamless), and the backing for the hole, could fall through.
Instead of water and lemon juice, there's a product called "Fruit Fresh", which can be bought at a grocery store. It's a powder that you mix with water. Used to keep salads fresh etc. But, I tried on a car rd eggplant before, and it didn't start to oxidize for over 12 hours!
Also, for drawing lines on a pumpkin, the best tool I have found, is an "India Pencil".
Instead of an Exacto Blade, a couple of the best knives you can use, are either a Japanese Mukimono carving knife or a Thai style carving knife.
The linoleum cutter works, but there are actually a large number of carving tools that are easily purchasable online of various sizes and shapes. The linoleum cutter would be called a "V" cutter.
The arms were created by Ray Villafane and can be bought online.

Why carve a hole in the back rather than the top? Also I've heard doing a quick bleach bath once finished helps preserve it, have you tried this?
I guess so you don’t see lines where the lid is. I’m taking this as I can put the big hole anywhere I want 🤔🎃

Thanks for the tips. I found the first 15 Minutes of the video very slow but easy to follow and then was very disappointed to realize that the very tricky technique of adding the potato eyes and teeth were sped up so fast. Also would be great to see all tools at the end and their names. Will check your other videos. Great pumpkin though. :)

could you use white distilled vinegar instead of lemon juice? I believe it is also 5% acidic
The natural shape of that pumpkin was more slender though the top making the bottom seem like it had cheeks almost. I would've made it into a Hobbs and tried to find another one that looks like Calvin.

How did you attach the pumpkin teeth to your gumline?
I've seen videos where they make cutouts with the excess pieces and attach them with a toothpick
Ray Villafane uses super glue.
When they were fast forwarding it showed a bottle of super glue…so maybe that with tooth picks

What did you used for the eyes and teeth?, how did you cutted and carved those eyes and teeth? And what did you used to keep them all in place?, my point it's, if you gonna do a tutorial, do it right and not showing some of the process in high speed motion, I'll check videos how to carve a pumping professionally somewhere else.
