I have never heard of Summerween until now and I just love it. The watermelon carving is another new one for me. I have never ever thought to do this. They are incredible! @@itsacharminglife we have no fall..there is no changing of the leaves because there aren't any that produce those gorgeous colors. No fall crisp mornings..it can still be 80 degrees in October. It gets cold here but not until later on. Im from Oregon and lived in The Netherlands for 10 years before moving here and thats the one thing I miss..fall and all the colors ❤

I'm glad im not the only one who celebrates the spooky in the middle of summer. I also live in upstate NY. There's the Cold hollow cider mill in Cooperstown we like to visit and pick up aome goodies and there's Beardslee castle restaurant which is a bit pricey but it's reported to be haunted and there's the General Herkimer home in Little Falls which has historical reenactments.

Aww, I want to celebrate Summerween too! I can barely cut a slice of watermelon to eat, and if I went into my cemetery behind my house at night I'd probably get arrested. I have cicada shells stuck on everything and it is hot and buggy out here. But occasionally I hear a hoot owl at night and sometimes I see a bat flying around, ( looking at getting in my hair, I think) so maybe that is a start. Happy Summerween, anyway. Your's is magical!

Yes! Fellow Halloween in July celebrants! Before I saw this, I spent the evening watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", "Garfield's Halloween Adventure", and (of course) Disney's "Ichabod Crane" short. I'm looking forward to my move to the midwest (from Florida) this autumn even more. But now I'm going to make my neighbors nervous by carving jack o'melons and leaving them out on the night of my birthday (7/19). (As an aside, I share my birthday with Lizzie Borden.)
I am in a similar boat over here. I live in Arizona, planning to move to the Midwest, and was watching Halloween movies with my kids over the weekend. I can't wait to move out of this heat and into a place with 4 seasons and it will actually FEEL like Halloween.

Due to global warming and the excessive heat I look forward to cooler Fall days!

Yes! Fellow Halloween in July celebrants! Before I saw this, I spent the evening watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", "Garfield's Halloween Adventure", and (of course) Disney's "Ichabod Crane" short. I'm looking forward to my move to the midwest (from Florida) this autumn even more.
But now I'm going to make my neighbors nervous by carving jack o'melons and leaving them out on the night of my birthday (7/19). (As an aside, I share my birthday with Lizzie Borden.)
I am in a similar boat over here. I live in Arizona, planning to move to the Midwest, and was watching Halloween movies with my kids over the weekend. I can't wait to move out of this heat and into a place with 4 seasons and it will actually FEEL like Halloween.
