It is rumoured that all of Chael's PPV's were never played live on TV coz he was too fast.. They had to be recorded, slowed down and then broadcasted. What a legend!
Vishnu Gopal lmao i heard this when i was a child about Bruce Lee as well 🙈😂😂 in the movie “Fist Of Fury” they added trailers to his hands to make us believe it! 🙈🙈
The fact that people actually think Chael has ever lost a fight isn't even funny anymore. How can you go your whole career undefeated without ever losing a round and still get so much disrespect?
Asking if Bruce Lee can beat UFC fighters now is not the right question. Bruce broke the mold by teaching everyone that mixing martial arts was not only okay, but the best form of combat. The real question is, what would MMA be like today with out Bruce Lee?
Well... Im a bruce hardcore fan and honestly, it would be the same, mma didn't exist because of him, it just happen to be what he did back then and no one really gave a shit at that time, mma came from money, from the need of win, fighters wanted to keep winning and to do so they started to work on they blind spots, that lead them to learn more styles, if you look back to the roots of ufc/pride you would see who started to train more styles and why and it had nothing to do with bruce, wich was an incredible fighter despise what most say
It would be exactly the same lol he was a movies celebrity. Combats between different styles began without Bruce Lee, and it's them who ended up bringing mixed training.

Oh wow, I took my first taekwondo class in Mark Schultz's wrestling room at BYU. The tkd teacher would always warn his students not to damage the wrestling mats because he was scared of Coach Schultz. He said "You don't understand, he's a REAL fighter! Not like me! He fights in a cage with no rules!" And that was how I found out about the UFC.
That wasn't actually Bruce Lee, it was supposed to be an advertisement. A company was making an advertisement and hired someone that looked like him, but the Bruce Lee fanboys took that advertising clip and put it in a Bruce Lee compilation.
Bruce trained and sparred with the highest level fighters at the time from Joe Lewis, Ed Parker, and Chuck Norris. They all said he was skilled and could fight. Bruce was more than just words or concepts. I compare him to Firas and I bet money Firas can fight even though he doesn't.
Firas trains BJJ, boxing, wrestling, and muay thai. He also fuses them together to make his mma skills better. He trains effective martial arts. Bruce Lee did not train effective martial arts. 90 percent of what he learned does not work against a trained fighter. Those guys you mentioned wouldn't even last 10 seconds in a cage fight. The highest level fighters at that time is completely different than the highest level fighters now. It's like comparing a 2020 car to a 1920 car. Bruce will come in with his karate stance and get his leg kicked until they fall off. Or worse, he'll just get single legged and taken to the ground where he would be helpless. He trained an art with extremely restricted rules. Not only would he not survive he would be dominated.
In his book about Jeet Kune Do (which is a philosophy and a training regimen not a true martial art) it seemed he like he threw away most of the Wing Chun techniques if that's the inneffective art you're referring to. Also he did box and trained in muay thai, although to be fair im not sure how much muay thai he integrated into his style. Bruce Lee was weird and his style had a lot of influence from fencing rather than wing chun which is why he fights in a southpaw stance despite being right-handed.
@@bane3991 " Bruce lee did not train effective martial arts". Tf are you talking about. Bruce lee is literally a legend of the martial art community. Bruce lee even said "I don't fear the man that knows 1000 kicks but practice 1 time, but I fear the men who practice 1 kick but 1000 times. And you're saying that not efficient?
@lef ofbadanboojy Those guys you mention also train boxing/muay thai to compliment their karate style which is completely fine, they're fusing it together. A karate style by itself does not work. Karate rules limit you. In karate tournaments you don't have to worry about leg kicks so their stance does not compensate for that, so they can't check them as well as say a thai fighter. Their hands are severely underdeveloped. Bad hands are a recipe for disaster in MMA. 90 percent of karate is useless, but not 100 percent as I said before. They have amazing, the best spinning back kicks.
@@shahul8222 they are more and the best athletes of his time that would train and spar with him. Question why will they do so and admit it improved their abilities. Even Joe Lewis said after training with him he decided to start full contact contest why ??? come one let's be logic here.
Joe Lewis was already doing tournament fighting before he trained with Bruce and he only trained with Bruce for less than two years. Even then he was a kick boxing fighter not kung fu. And they had a falling-out anyways.
I’m no Bruce Lee fan, but Chael doesn’t seem to know a lot about him. Bruce Lee boxed, kickboxed, did judo and sparred with all his students and the legends of the day. He did no kata/forms after being exposed to boxing and kick boxing upon his arrival in America. I’ve met and trained with the late Joe Lewis, he never said Bruce could beat him, but he also didn’t say Bruce couldn’t defend himself.
I think Chael's point is that Bruce never competed. Not in boxing, judo, kickboxing. Trained, yes, in his backyard, with a few good guys like Lewis, and mostly with his los angeles students. I have to agree with Chael. If you're defined as what you do, then Bruce was a philosopher, not a fighter. He didn't really fight. Sparring ain't fighting.
Why keep comparing someone that passed away 40 years ago with the UFC/MMA fighters now? The whole environment is different, the training techniques are much more advanced than the 70's. Bruce Lee was gifted fighter and philosopher in his time and his ideas and techniques are at least 20 years ahead of his time! Saying that he couldn't beat any of the MMA fighters today is just silly as there is no concrete evidence to prove this statement unless you can "clone " Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee did fight in the streets and that was one of the reasons why he was sent abroad by his father. Some MMA fighters argue that street fights are not real fights, they have no technique, Only MMA fighters have techniques , so their logic is Bruce Lee never been in the ring, never been in the competition, so therefore Bruce Lee wasn't a fighter. They are saying as if you can only be a fighter if you step into a ring or octogon ( pardon my spelling). Street fights are nothing compared to the In ring bout or competition. It never came across their mind that ppl you are facing in street fights actually want to hurt you or even want you dead.
Exactly dude and besides the question of the dude was if Bruce were to get trained in today's martial arts for a couple of years how would he fair?? And chael didn't addressed that properly rather implied that he would somehow be a total failure in mma which is simply not true and kinda extreme downplay on his part i would say
Consider this. If he was a fake, we won't even be talking about him today still, let alone speculating about how he would do against today's best MMA fighters. One just needs to do the Research to know why. Fake Fades away, REAL endures.
I agree, you can't compare the likes of Messi & Ronaldo with the likes of Pele & Maradonna if you catch my drift. It's a totally different time & so much has changed since back then...
@@jamaali2358 nah it's the best philosophy tbh cuz it means u need to learn everything to become skillful and technical fighter and ur technique is a result of the opponent technique which means no matter what I'm ready for u

So spot on Chael. I’m a lifelong martial artist and Bruce Lee fan. But I know what he was and what he wasn’t. Maybe if he was born today he would be a fighter .....he would be someone who would want to learn to fight and compete in mixed Martial arts. But he was not that in his day so to compare him to today’s fighters is almost unfair to him and the current athletes.

U probably think that Chuck Norris is the baddest man in history like Chael...
Bruce was as legit a martial artist as any. And honestly probably the most influential martial artist to ever walk the planet. He’s responsible for thousands if not millions of people taking up martial arts including myself. But that has nothing to do with claiming that he is a better fighter than tested and proven fighters today. We’re not even trying to compare a boxer from his generation to a boxer up today with which would still be irrelevant but more relevant than this conversation. Those boxers would have had real fights to watch and have engaged in real car that was recorded. Bruce Lee was a movie star and a martial artist. No proven record and no history of combat. I have no doubt that if Bruce was alive today he would be knee-deep in mixed Martial arts and hopefully he would have been a contender. But saying that I don’t believe or can prove that he was a great fighter has nothing to do with the fact that he was an amazing martial artist a massive influence and a great philosopher. I live by many of his principles to this day.
He wasnt competing versus the other guys back in the day with back in the day knowledge what makes you think he would compete today, no difference at all... but thats your excuse lol....
@@blab3481 he did taekwondo wich is a very good discipline but i do think that he isn't as powerfull as many think and that many pro fighters would be able to beat him
To be honest, there is footage of Bruce sparring, and you could tell that he was well versed on his feet. His timing was great, and his power, which he demonstrated by hitting bags and such, was also remarkable, especially considering his size (135lbs). Bruce was also very important for the philosophy of modern martial arts. But Bruce was an actor, it wouldn't make sense for him to not be able to film his movies, from which he lived very well, because he had a busted face. He had priorities, but to say he didn't know how to fight, or that his skills were imaginary, is not true. Okay? Great.
I’m sitting here listening to Chael talk about how Bruce Lee didn’t do competition fighting and I’m just like dude.... he had Way bigger aspirations, that’s why we still talk about him today. You think he should have been a fucking fighter instead of a cultural icon? So that y’all can give him credit for his fighting skills ? Bruce Lee was a 1\10000000 person . Y’all can say he’s just a human all you want, but he was a unique human with inhuman drive and discipline not to mention unbelievable physicality. With 2 years of training he would UNDOUBTEDLY be bantamweight champ in ufc today.

Bruce would have been a great coach. Very intelligent and motivating. His philosophy would have and still does help fighters who r willing to compete. Now if Bruce would have competed would he have become a great fighter with a winning record? Possibly. He had the speed, he had the knowledge, he had the motivation and passion so who knows. Regardless Bruce is a Legend and the mere fact that he’s still being talked about today is a testament to that. Be like water my friends... 🙏
Bruce Lee was strong for his weight and extremely quick which does help out in fighting. However, 2yrs is not enough time to catch up to high level competition like the UFC fighters technical ability. Bruce Lee would be stepping in there with tough guys who have been training effective martial arts and sparring hard since they were children. Bruce Lee was an actor. He looked amazing in his movies because they were scripted. The fight scenes were all scripted. In the cage he wouldn't last 5 seconds. He would be picked apart on the feet even by the low level mma fighters and taken to the ground and tapped, even by a newly promoted blue belt. If he's given 2yrs Bruce had an incredible mindset, very hard worker. He would use that time wisely. But it would be insanely difficult to get to the highest level in such a short amount of time, even with the physical gifts he had. A Bruce Lee in his prime would be say, 30yrs old. 2yrs of training compared to someone like Khabib(they're the same weight) who has been training since he was 4yrs old in effective martial arts.
Bruce Lee was not a fighter, was an actor and an hard worker. But cmon, he wouldnt last 20 seconds against Max Holloway or Volkanovski or 155er of today.
@@mattavellaneda6073 why does everyone have to show evidence. It's not suppose to be about how tough you are, or how good at competing you are.
@@markmorris7123 The whole point of martial arts is being able to fight, to impose your will in a situation through martial abilities, etc...everything else is either tangential or parallel. Jesse Glover another first student, witnessed Bruce knocked out Youchi Nakachi in 11 seconds. Stop stereotyping BL fans, you the Forrest Gump dumb dumb who don't do enough research. There's two fans, the fake ones who do more damage than good exxagerate Bruce and there's the fans know Bruce has no tournament record but don't mean shit. Bruce already proved to established fighters he can fight.
Bruce set the foundation for modern MMA. And I dont think anyone has the right to talk down on Bruce Lee when he layed out the blueprints for every single fighter. When you want to find out information on something. You research it online, and someone has the answers laid out in front of you with the click of a button. Without research we could go a lifetime without knowing things. He saved EVERYONE time, and that's why theres so many talented fighters around the world surpassing him. He spent his time saving us time. And I think we owe everything to Bruce. He is an Icon.
He doesn't "talk" about it because he's been dead for 8 years. What he did talk about was having trained somewhat with Lee but even during that time lee never sparring with him. He also did actual combat and contact fight training with Joe Orbillo who was a legitimate heavyweight boxing contender. but apparently we will just talk about the movie star as his greatest influence and not the guy who actually did contact fighting.
Exactly. This was all extremely inaccurate information about Bruce. Bruce never competed professionally, which is true. He took martial arts and training extremely seriously though. It was his whole life in fact. Chael simply doesn't like Bruce Lee I guess.

I disagree. The entire game of points "fighting" tournaments with all of the rules was a joke in the 60's and still is a joke today. It is sports-tag, and proves nothing in the realm of fighting. Far too many weapons neutralized by rules. Bruce was challenged to street fights, honor fights, film crew extras, hand picked "assassin" types, etc. Most of Lee's life was spent earning his reputation with skin in the game in Hong Kong, Seattle, San Francisco, Oakland, etc, not in Los Angeles.
Those honor fights were bs. They’re just made up stories. They never say the names of these peoples or the dates these supposed fights occurred. It’s all myth. If he had half the fights claimed he’d have been arrested at least once. You don’t beat people up 100’s of times and not get arrested.
Gene LaBelle was competing against top competition and winning when Chael was gluing macaroni to paper plates. He was one of the first to actually put it on the line.
This is like saying Bob Marley couldn’t smoke or Hendrix couldn’t trip..... Bruce Lee changed martial arts forever because of SPARRING not katas! BL hated kata and mentions it repeatedly in his notes /books. He freelanced his skills and turbocharged them with athletic attributes which is what MMA is today. JKD, which is BL’s personal experimentation on hand-to-hand combat with a kungfu foundation was the prototype MMA recipe which you see today minus kungfu trapping. He used cinema to expand people’s minds especially martial artists. Look at all of his films and tell me BL doesn’t have some type of MMA tactic/ technique... Obviously he wasn’t a pro full contact fighter but that wasn’t the point... he sparred which most martial artists didn’t do back in the day. When I say spar I mean in MMA fashion meaning strike takedown and some submissions BUT ALSO refine the street lethal or dirty shit (eye jab, groin strike, headbutts, etc). All of this wasn’t really popular but is pretty basic today. BL was way ahead of his time. Look at lethwei now, BL was already into that shit with the headbutts yet we only appreciate now decades later.
He was also a movie star and was very aware of the importance of protecting his image. He couldn’t risk getting kicked in the face in a fight. Cmon man
Bruce Lee was the Jean Claude Va-Damme, the Michael Jai White, the Steven Seagal of his time He basically started the martial arts genre in cinema He took Kung Fu to Hollywood
Bruce lee at a very young age won Hong Kong Schools Boxing Championship. If he grew up in todays fight environment he would have been great for his weight class. But honestly by now people should be aware that you are only top dog for a short while till the new top dog. Bruce lee was different kind of interesting person in that he loved the journey and study of martial arts and ways to improve as much as the fight. He loved its relationship with life like us fight fans. Bruce taught line level effective ways to get you from zero to ready to learn and survive. Most older Bruce fans know Bruce was not at Gene Label's level but was admired by us because he quickly learned and effectively adapted skills. He was a street fighter not a cage fighter.
That’s a good analysis. But I have one nagging question. Why did so many World champion martial artists train with Bruce Lee, most of which say he kicked their ass?
@michael cooper no evidence for disproving him if he would still alive he would kick assess of fools who challenge him people back then even questioned him as being only an "A3tor 1!" Then they would get kicked their ass after

Bruce Lee wasn't a pro fighter, that's correct but saying that sparring was never a part of his training is false. He even created a prototype of mma gloves to allow throws during his trainings. Those are the gloves he used in the opening scene of Enter Dragon. You can also find old footages of him sparring on RUclips. There aren't a lot of them so there is not a lot of material to really analyse his skills, plus we don't know the level of the oppenents. However by the way he moves, one thing is certain, it's not your average Joe sparring for the first time or those Mac dojo gurus getting debunked. Sorry if there are mistakes, English is not my first language
Only light touch-sparring. No MA-matches or heavy sparring. He was an actor just like Jackie Chan. Chan would also have been humiliated if he competed against real fighers in UFC in his prime.
I was trained as a kid in karate point fighting and kata I got my blackbelt at 14 in American Kenpo/ Jujitsu. Luckily for me in high school, I had friends on the wrestling team and UFC was a big deal, just roughhousing as a teenager showed me what was valuable in a fight, and let me tell you it wasn't my knowledge of kata 2.
Wrestling is definitely the best martial art base you can have. You can take the fight anywhere you want. Plus it builds up your mental strength like no other.
Luke t I did shotokan karate and got my brown belt (two bellow black if I remember) at around 13/4 years old. I started when I was 4/5 so it is possible to get a karate black belt at 14. Although it means fuck all for real world fighting

@The School of Everything huh......I've seen grandmas spar and look good bud. Did he fight in a full contact fight with someone who wanted to hurt him? No.
that's not exactly true though. not only did they spar, bruce was sent to america because he was getting in too many street fights in china. You also say that only actors perpetuated that Bruce Lee's skill was legit, when chuck norris himself (who was a legit competitor) spoke very highly of bruce's skill even saying that bruce would have beat him in a real fight if they were the same size.
So? Anderson silva said the same about jose aldo, about how he would be a problem if he was in middleweight. The point is, people say this out of respect.
Very true. You know more about Bruce than Chael though. Chael didn't do his research at all. He's making up things that aren't true. Maybe he doesn't like Bruce Lee. It's pretty common knowledge that he didn't do Kata and that Bruce sparred with his students all the time. Bruce never competed professionally, that's true. He took martial arts and working out extremely seriously though. Chael doesn't know that I guess. I use to be a fan of Bruce when I was a teen.
I'd say Bruce Lee was a great martial arts philosopher and had a really impressive way of thinking and to be honest we owe him a lot. If he had fought at 155 in the beginning he would be unbeatable. Today he would definitely be a contender IF he was trained like all mixed martial artists are trained today I think he would be Muhammad Ali of mma. I truly believe that. I don't think Royce would be able to do the 10th of what Bruce did Bruce would set a standard which I believe would never be met after him. That's how good I think he would be.
Not sure if he would be the best I still see people like GSP and Khabib getting a hold of him. Imagine a fight with Tony Ferguson vs fucking Bruce Lee how exciting would that be? I think he could definitely be top 5 because of his knowledge of motion, timing, and strength. If you think about it, that’s how McGregor was so successful, that’s how Tyson was so successful.
I agree. Bruce obviously doesn’t have the knowledge of today but he had the capacity to advance ahead of his peers in terms of learning what he can and perfecting what he learns. Had he kept the same mindset in today’s he would have dominated.
This is the THIRD video that Chael has made about the subject of Bruce not being a fighter. Why? Did he think we didn't understand his point the first 2 times?

Bruce lee could fight. He trained for the street like an mma fighter trains for the ring. He would go around training with all the best guys in other disciples. He was a true fighter and martial artist. Plenty of first hand stories of Bruce being An ass kicker
Brett Sylvester he can definitely fight. Maybe not at a level of Connor McGregor or Jon Jones but im sure he was a good fighter considering he spent his life doing martial arts. Was he elite tho? Probably not!
Let’s not forget Bruce lee was not ignorant, he was good fighter for his time he learned new skills when he came to the u.s he did not bash boxing he actually learned from it, and created his own style of “way of no way” that is implemented today in the UFC.
@@aschu234 oh bullshit he fought on the street. That's just a convenient excuse, not a single person he supposedly fought on the street has ever announced they fought him.
Bruce Lee was a philosopher, and MARTIAL ARTIST. There is a difference between fighter and martial artist. He is more than important for the martial arts, inspires many in life and in fight (Example: Marco Ruas, Anderson Silva, Song Yadong, Zhang Weili ...) If it weren't for him, it is not known if MMA would exist today, as he was the first of his time to say that it was important to practice more than one style. was the first to mix several and form his own. he taught, and practiced, he did not fight. he was so far ahead of his time, that he already knew that too many clothes hindered combat. in one of his films he uses swim trunks to fight, while years later, in the first UFC events some did not think about it and fought in the gi, pants... Nowadays people like to judge one another and say that it was a scam or something, trying to find a way to discredit their deeds, but the truth is that nobody sees the real and true meaning of all that the same did, and no one could come close to doing what he did in just 32 years of life. Everyone has their opinion, there are those who believe in something, there are those who do not believe ... but nothing changes the fact that Bruce Lee was a legend and will always be remembered. May he rest in peace... have a great day and take care in this quarantine! 🙏👊
He fought, he was the state of the art super car in his years, you can’t compare nowadays super car with the greatest in the 60s, also he was ahead of his time for decades, he didn’t do hitting air, Chael had no ideas what he was saying, also chuck norris said he would have lost to Bruce lee if they ever fought
You're right Cheal was pretty off on this one. There's no evidence or even hearsay anywhere of Lee saying that he'd beat Chuck Norris. They were very close training partners and Chuck said that neither of them ever wanted to 'go there' when it came to that topic. A statement like that would've destroyed their friendship. The statement about him beating Ali is also blown out of proportion. The rumor started apparently after his wife said he could beat Ali, and this was in response to a critic saying that Ali would beat Bruce (I mean duh, Ali was 260 lbs and Bruce wasn't even 150). But now that it's a rumor random people are claiming decades later that they knew someone who knew someone who heard him say it, it's what Tarantino's been doing anyways.
@@rampagesmackssons508 He is no one anymore . He's dead. He belongs to everyone now. Spiritualily you can still feel his presence maybe.. MMA wouldn’t even be where it is without Bruce. And what are you talking about Bruce fought Wong Jack Man a mma master. I’m not saying Bruce could beat Mike Tyson I don’t think anyone has but with Bruce’s knowledge on the sport he would be on Conors level of MMA IQ

@@bingbong6127 absolutely. I'm a big Lee fan and I don't disagree. But chael got a lot of things wrong here, sparring was essential to his training later on in his life, and watching interviews of anyone he's sparred will disprove some of chael's claims. Some have even spoken of his ability as a counter striker. Which is something that you cannot even know of back then unless you've sparred and experimented extensively. Again, Lee cannot beat a single fighter in the ufc. None. But you have to agree that chael did get some things wrong here.
Bruce lee was the real deal you couldn’t even block his punches if u wanted to. he was extremely fast and very strong he trained every single day this is a fact
He wasn't training correctly. He was in a more primitive time. Those fancy kicks wouldn't have worked against a trained opponent. He would be taken down and submitted before the first min was up. Even on the feet he was useless. He would be killed with leg kicks. Those round house kicks he does in the movies will be blocked easily. He's strong and fast. But his technical ability is severely lacking. His hands were very under developed. He didn't spar against legit tough guys. Training every day in BS martial arts means nothing.
He says Bruce Lee and Gene Lebell were myths. This reminds me of the time Chael tried to get everyone to believe that Minotauro Nogueira tried to feed a carrot to a school bus.
Bruce Lee wasn't a karate person, nor a wrestler, nor a boxer...so why is the fact that he doesn't have a title from these tournaments being held against him? Asking if Bruce Lee can beat UFC fighters now is not the right question. Bruce broke the mold by teaching everyone that mixing martial arts was not only okay, but the best form of combat. The real question is, what would MMA be like today with out Bruce Lee?
Exactly! There is no MMA without him. The evolution would not have happened until later and current UFC would be like UFC 1. 😁

Facts

I have to agree with Chael. If you're defined as what you do, then Bruce was a philosopher, not a fighter. He didn't really fight. Sparring ain't fighting.
Megat Afiq Yes, talking about Bruce’s fighting is one thing, but his physical gifts are undeniable.

And why does Bruce lee have to have had loads of fights to prove he can fight. isn't the whole point of martial arts, is being able to win the fight without actually fighting, and if the fight does happen, that you can stay calm be smart. It's not suppose to be about how tough you are, or how good at competing you are.
@@markmorris7123 The whole point of martial arts is being able to fight, to impose your will in a situation through martial abilities, etc...everything else is either tangential or parallel. There isn't a straight line at all between martial art prowess and character, despite Hollywood and some other glamorizing that angle.
Come on Chael, you know Bruce was a Cha-Cha champion in Hong Kong.
Bruce Lee is just a human being. He's not going to be able to compete with the best Mixed Martial Artists of today. That doesn't mean he's not worth of all the respect he deserves, since he is the mind behind Mixed Martial Arts in the first place. What a life u have I feel extremely sorry for you,and to clear this up. Bruce Lee was a fighter before he became a martial artist. His brutal no holds barred rooftops fight as a teen in Hong Kong almost killing the son of a feared triad, and we are talking about a Chinese man who came to American and by the 60's open up martial arts schools in the most turbulent times in the 60's doing the heart of the civil rights movement, and taught gung fu in the same community where Huey p Newton and his black panther organized. We are talking about him doing all this shit in Oakland in the 60's he had to have been a bad mf to have done all that shit doing that very very brutal times in American history. You wouldn't have the heart to do that that proved he was a fighter, and he was nothing to fuck with. Plus you don't know what Bruce did doing that time who he taught. Only then he beat a kung fu master from china town, which proved that he was the real deal. The man fought wars to teach everyone in the us something we didn't have here and that was Kung Fu. Let me tell u this he was more dangerous then the martial arts u study remember you stuck on tradition martial arts he created his own fighting system. He trained his mind and whole body extensively. Man he would have beat the living shit out you man his mind and body was to shift and deceptive for u to even comprehend on the level his mind was at. He was to much in the perfect physical shape beyond how fit a human body could go. You ain't in enough shape,to fuck with Bruce Lee man u talking out your ass.lol

Did you spent great deal of time with Bruce like Poteet? No. Did you ever met Bruce? No. Then you have no idea. Bruce Lee actually had one documented boxing match in Hong Kong.
Bruce set the foundation for modern MMA. And I dont think anyone has the right to talk down on Bruce Lee when he layed out the blueprints for every single fighter.

@Alex Amaya So your're saying Joe Lewis was lying?

Cmon man

Why do we give Bruce Lee so much credit without ever fighting professionally? Everyone always questions people's skills in the fight world now-a-days but when it comes to Bruce you're all just blind, devout followers.
Chael Sonnen is a philosopher and a undefeated fighter...
Undefeated?
Jacob Martinez And Undisputed
@John Doe its wrong chael never lost a round
@John Doe It is wrong.
He was a philosopher with legitimate athletic ability
All Respect I know that Bruce Could Fight. He was
Just his skills were exaggerated...
He couldn't fight.
@@aschu234 oh bullshit he fought on the street. That's just a convenient excuse, not a single person he supposedly fought on the street has ever announced they fought him.
Bruce Lee was a philosopher, and MARTIAL ARTIST. There is a difference between fighter and martial artist. He is more than important for the martial arts, inspires many in life and in fight (Example: Marco Ruas, Anderson Silva, Song Yadong, Zhang Weili ...)
If it weren't for him, it is not known if MMA would exist today, as he was the first of his time to say that it was important to practice more than one style. was the first to mix several and form his own. he taught, and practiced, he did not fight. he was so far ahead of his time, that he already knew that too many clothes hindered combat. in one of his films he uses swim trunks to fight, while years later, in the first UFC events some did not think about it and fought in the gi, pants...

Chael P. "As long as you don't drive away from us we're good" Sonnen!
Uncle Cheal, your wisdom is monumental and insurmountable! To hear you speak is a pleasure!
Find one of Chael's lies and analyze why it's wrong. I will PayPal you 5 American dollars if you can
You're right Cheal was pretty off on this one.
WOW!! Chael spoke for 5 seconds before I completely realized. Chael Sonnen has absolutely no clue who Bruce Lee is.
Do you believe the Bruce Lee hagiography? Read Davis Miller's the Tao of Bruce Lee.
You met BruceLee?
Bruce Lee is no one. He was an actor/ martial artist 1940-1973
@@bilbobaggins4403 stupid comment. No fighter would ever call Bruce lee a no one. They all respect his ideologies
@@rampagesmackssons508 He is no one anymore . He's dead. He belongs to everyone now. Spiritualily you can still feel his presence maybe.. He was an actor and a physical artist extraordinaire but not a fighter. He never fought anyone but was a great theorist about fighting and innovation. Most people believe what they see on screen😄😃😀
Been saying this for years . Great to have you explain the reality of the “ Cult” of Bruce Lee
Im suprise theres no bruce lee hurt fans responding like crazy like hes hella legit. Chael called it down
Give it time, the fanboys will be crying in no time. Lol
@Terrence Odonnell so you think bruce lee could actually beat Ali or beat the top contenders in todays UFC lightweight division?
Usually most would argue that I have no place in criticizing and that I would have to be some kind of expert at a martial art to say anything. Apparently Uncle Chael said what I thought and shut all the Bruce lee fanboys up. Thank you Chael the next time someone wants to argue with my statement ill turn them to you. Let me guess they'll argue Chaels fight record. O wait chael has one does bruce? I dont think so. All I hear for any combative proof are stories. This is why guys like Segal is so popular. The media displays him like hes some all around martial arts badass when he most likely have just a limited form. Its called choreograph you idiots! Not the same as reality!
Terrence Odonnell Awwwww are you cranky you didn’t get your Soy Latte today?
It’s all just speculation. Bruce is an icon. He was certainly skilled in many aspects of martial arts. But we have not seen him fight so nobody knows if he could fight legitimately or not. He could surprise everyone and be a natural world beater or be the opposite. He will always be a legend regardless of any of that to me.
there's no such thing as a natural wonder homie... it takes a vast amount of work, regardless of talent.... that's what you lee cultists don't get.
Being older i can tell you for a fact people where sparing in the 70s and 80s
Was it a very real thing?
in full contact sports like boxing, kick boxing, wrestling, he never denied that. but in bruce’s world primarily eastern martial arts no they were not doing full contact sparring. that was looked down upon heavily.
@@ryannavarro606 in Asia they allways had ufc style tournaments

@Zayne simard moore Do you notice how all this fights always have as witnesses only people who later lived off Bruce Lee's legend, selling books and teaching Jet Kune Do like Dan Inosanto?

He did a great job promoting martial arts ngl. Don't forget that Helio Gracie and Masahiko Kimura were alive during his time and both could've kicked his ass even if they were in their 50s.
Hugely wrong take he trained with joe lewis and many other great martial artists
And would have gotten stiffed out by any of the today's actual fighters.
@@bingbong6127 he would surpass them
A lot of Martial artists like to kiss ass and get together with the Bruce lee hype
Bruce Lee was the son of a famous movie director in Hong Cong. Bruce was in movies all his life.
Bruce lee was the real deal you couldn’t even block his punches if u wanted to. he was extremely fast and very strong he trained every single day this is a fact
Blocking is bullshit. Slip and counter. Bruce Lee is an actor.
Training every day in BS martial arts means nothing.
other fighters who had to give bruce bad news were so terrified of him and his anger, would bring hand guns with them.
You literally just made that up.
This is as silly as saying "Chuck Norris never won a Wing Chun championship, so he's no good." Or "Mike Tyson didn't win a single Shaolin boxing title, so he can't fight."
Thank you for telling this side. So many nowadays don’t know this, and cancel culture has made so many timid to talk about anything than can even slightly be perceived as critical or offensive. Dangerous waters we are treading in
