I have an MT-6 and installed a Nidec/Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 rpm fan on it. Temps went down by some 6 or 7 degrees, pretty significant difference. Not sure the if original fan is not very good at static pressure or it's an airflow thing

Please add Gammaxx 400 v2 to the comparison, what I found from amazon it has a wider range of fan speed @ 500 - 1650 rpm, slightly lower air flow rated @ 64.5 cfm, lower fan noise @ 27.8 db(A). I think it would be very interesting to see the Gammaxx 400 v2 compared to its predecessor and the Snowman T4. Also to add more context, all the cooler mentioned above has identical price at where I live, Indonesia, around $ 21-22 by todays rate.
Gammaxx 400V2? very interesting, I would review it right away except it does not appear to be available in Australia yet. I will definitely review this cooler when I can get my hands on one.
@@The_Trojan Most likely it has just been released a month ago or so, not many info I can find on web or youtube except from some Korean channels. Nevertheless, I'm gonna grab one for sure. Hope you can get your hands on it soon for the comparison matter.
My Snowman m-T6 came with dual fans. Did yesterday a 20min Cinebench R20 multi-thread run on my Ryzen 5 2600X @4.05GHz, a 105W TDP CPU. Came back and max was 69.8ºC. Room temp low 20s. All fans of case and cooler are on DC on bios to keep system quiet since its in a Meshify C mini. If they were on PWM fans would've ramp up more and temps could've been lower.
I appreciate that somebody got out there and did a review with most looked at coolers in the cheap department. We have you to thank for mate to make a reasonable purchase! Btw I wanted to put 2 fan coolers (push &pull) and thought it be tested in the video. Is it worth having 2 fans over 1 on these coolers?
Precocious thriller so, it does make a little bit of difference. It improves performance by about 7% over ambient. So if you had a CPU temp of 70C and an ambient of 25C with one fan you might expect a CPU temp of 67C. So not as much as you’d expect but it makes a difference.
Yeah, the fan on the Gammaxx 400 at full speed is louder than the Snowman but the noise is not that bad. I gave the prize to the m-T4 because of its bang for buck. If you want the better performance of the Gammaxx 400 (with a bit of LED bling) then its a great choice and still my personal favorite for windowed case builds.
@@shekelberg1975 Hey so I'll put this on the backlog as I need to have some budget to make the purchase (need to sell a few parts first). So I might make it A400 VS BX500 VS Cheapest I can find from AliExpress but its going to take me a while. FYI: A400 and BX500 480GB are available from USD $49 here.
Hi Mark do you plan on doing any more budget cooler reviews? excellent video btw. I'm loving my snowman mt-4 for my R5 3600, bought it on the strength of your review and TYC's review. never dips above 75c on handbrake encoding with all cores and threads maxed out
Which do you think benefits the most with a dual fan setup? Very curious because I want to get the best bang for my buck and the m-T6 dual, m-T4 dual RGB, and Gammaxx 400 Pro (dual fans) are all at the same price. 70$.
I am kind of guessing here but the m-T4 RGB would probably improve the most with extra airflow just because the fan is so weak. With the Gammaxx there is already so much air that I would expect it to improve the least. Having said that the improvements with a second fan (whist definitely noticeable) are not as big as you might think. If the one fan option has the cpu at 60C in a 20C room then you might expect the CPU temp to be between 55-57C with a second fan added.
@@The_Trojan thank you so much for answering! I just saw a video by Maple Syrup Gaming where he detailed that the dual fan version of the Gammaxx 400 only yielded 2-3 degrees improvement running at 50%(stock) speed. I'm most curious about the m-T6, given that the 6 heat pipes might see real improvement if another fan is introduced. P.S. will the cooler be affected when there is black coating on it? Snowman released new black RGB versions with better fans so I might wait for them to restock
Will you be able to do a quick swap of the Deepcool fan onto the Snowman coolers and vice versa to see which has the better design? Since it's possible to get the Snowman coolers for super cheap without any fans, we might be able to mount decent but old 120mm case fans which might by laying around if they actually have a structure which dissipates heat better.
Thank you! I recommend compressing your information and shortening the video length if you plan to do more videos. Also it’s not too useful to show the full spoken text on screen, some more images would be better.
It seems the MT6 is limited by the fan/fins. Adding a second fan would likely increase performance for than the 4 heat pipe models. There are dual fan versions available on AE for only a few dollars more.
Yeah, second fan improves temp over ambient by about 8%. I think it would be good to test the 6 heat pipes on a very high TDP cpu like 9900k but I don’t have resources for that test.
I found conflicting info on the size. On a Philipine marketplace it says the height for T6 is 164mm. But here it's 155mm. If it's 164mm, it won't fit my case. Which one is true?
Not sure if AE is still shipping stuff these days, I've not received anything for the past 6 weeks due to the lockdown. If you already have the M-X6 with you, can you please compare this to the M-T6 as well? 🙂 Superb video!
Hey, just getting around to look at this. There appears to be a few different coolers called M-X6. Have you got a link to the one you are requesting? If it is coming from AE its gonna take me a couple of months but I can put the order in now.
Great info, If i could give some feedback, try not to read out/write down everything on your presentation. Just put key points and read out your notes as you go through the PowerPoint. It will help with keeping your audience focused on what you're saying and not distracted by the words . Thanks!
The T6 now has the 2 fans version for push-pull config not sure how's that gonna perform. Maybe knock 2-3C lower? I can get here for like $15 shipped from China via Lazada (it's like Amazon/Rakuten but mainly for South East Asia).
HarryUnchained yeah, I have found that the improvement with the second fan is about 7% of delta above ambient performance. (So if CPU temp is 60c with one fan and ambient temp is 20C you could expect CPU temp to improve to about 57C).
What performance gains I can expect if I use 1 or may be 2(push & pull configuration) corsair sp120 fan(s) or any other after market fan on snow man T6. Similarly will T6 performs better with gammax fan?. The reason why I'm asking this is that does 6 heat pipes with single tower design cooler really help cooling down cpu temps with goods fan as compared to T4 and gammax?
Ok, when I tested a second fan I found the performance improvement was 7% of the delta above ambient. So you get an improvement but perhaps not as much as you expect.
Hey mate, To be honest for out and out cooling per dollar the Gammaxx 400 is just abou the best out there. Not really aware of something better at the price point. What cpu are you trying to cool?
Junri Flores Ludevese so a Ryzen 5 2600 is going to be cooler than the Ryzen 7 1700 I used in this test so any of these coolers will be sufficient. The Gammaxx is the out and out best and the MT-4 is the best value.
Hi I bought last week the snowman T6 with the RGB panel on top of the cooler It comes with one rgb cooler. I know the price to performance is important but do you think that a better cooler could make the performance difference between the T4 and the T6 grow larger? Or maybe using two coolers? I have some pccooler corona and will test wen It arrives. 😁
RODRIGO LUDUS a better fan or adding a second fan to the existing RGB fan would definitely improve performance. Unless you’re going for an extreme overclock the m-T6 is probably going to be fine with just the one RGB fan.
mangostain yes, I have tested the m-t4 myself with the double fans and in terms of cpu temp-ambient temp the improvement is around 7%. So around 60 degree CPU temp and 20 degree ambient you would see about 3 degree improvement. It goes up as the temperature increases.

Hi,i have ryzen 5 3600 on stock cooling at the moment,i am debating if i should get gammaxx 400 or snowman T6 with 2 fans, what is your opinion on this ?
straja well, I am now planning to change my cooling on my Ryzen 3600x from a Gammaxx to the RGB twin fan m-T4 cooler cause I love the RGB... but the Gammaxx will do a better job as you push the voltage higher... and you can always throw a second fan on to the Gammaxx if you want. So unless you get some kind of unreal deal on the Snowman m-T6 I’d stick with Gammaxx... but... you could always go m-T6 with RGB twin fan but that gets a bit more expensive.
Out of interest, compared to what am I saving money? Are you comparing it to a stand alone Noctua cooler? Because where I live that fan is about $42USD which by itself is significantly more expensive than any of these coolers reviewed here.
Best intro ever 👏👏👏👏
And it's better then last Star Wars episode!
Only passed the intro so far and already thumbs up!!
I think the "problem" on the T6 is, that the finns are providing too less surface to dissipate the heat gathered from all 6 heatpipes.
