The Aresgame River 5 is often down to $20 US on Amazon (if not, usually $25 which is still super cheap), it has 5 heatpipes, I'm curious how it stacks up to these.
I used a couple of those and it kept a 2400G below 50° while gaming (Escape from Tarkov in my case) measured with MSI Afterburner. But of course i didn't do a detailed benchmark nor i am a professional at it.

YESSSS!!! ID Cooling is like superb bang for bucks, from fans to Air Coolers to AIOs. I truly have no idea why it is not popular in the US. These "techtuber" would be jumping out of their shorts if they could see what ID-Cooling has to offer.

Well, its a good thing Malaysia is really close to china. Dual fan Snowman MT6 cost us RM77 (~USD18.60) and the single fan RM67 (~USD16.20). Just add RM10 ( average lunch money), and I can get another fan.. (EDIT= free shipping)
As an owner of both of these cpu coolers 🤯🥳🎉 I’m very happy with my purchases and use them on both an Intel and AMD cpu based systems with very good cooling temps 🤯👍🥳🥰❤️
I own one of these cooler. They are just as good as some of the mainstream brands out there. Of cos you can't compare it to those Noctua coolers. For the price, these are excellent compare to the stock coolers.
I've bought 3 M-T6's and work superb. Yes, the installation is kinda difficult in smaller cases, I've cut my fingers a little multiple times when the space is small as you have to press that thing really hard, but that's good enough for the bucks I'm saving myself
@@iskanderbouziane3300 it is beyond excellent if you replace the stock fans with some good fans (my mt6 has 2 fans). Tips for installing this kind of cooler: install the brackets as you normally would, however, loosen the screws as much as you can. Install the cooler on the loosen brackets. Tighten the screws diagonally with a long screwdriver to force the cooler on your cpu. This would ensure that thermal paste is evenly spread and you don't have to worry about the stupid clamps of the cooler. Note: unless you have very delicate hands, you should install it free from your chassis. To uninstall it, follow the steps backwards. Uninstalling will not require motherboard's removal from the chassis.
It seems that if you're buying this in the US, you can get the MT6 with free shipping (but not the MT4, although it is a decent $6.74 for FL). In that case, it is a indeed a good deal!
Took the plunge and got my first proper luxury Chinese product, Xiaomi Mix Fold. Actually really liking it so far (if the hinge holds up). Chinese brands getting pretty good these days..
@@valuehunter5544 oh yeah. I bought a huawei matebook x pro and I loved it. It was incredible. Had to return it cus of a death in the family. But I really wish I could of kept it.
I bought one of these from china, arrived two weeks ago. Dropped my 3400g's temps by around 20 degrees compared to wreath spire. Somewhat rough to install because of the spring loaded mounting system but no complaints whatsoever.
Works good on a high core count CPU. Nothing fancy. I got one for $28 with two fans and six pipes, came perfect and mounted easily. Smooth surface compared to $60 coolers.
These are great if you have time to wait for shipping from China, and you are on a budget. Normally I just grab something from Deepcool's lineup off Newegg, or eBay from a US seller, and call it a day as they do just as well for about the same money.

I bought one of these snowman coolers, the low profile cooler with the fan facing down towards the cpu) for my i5-9400 and it was such a pain to get the clips on. It ended up being so loose that I can spin freely but it doesn’t seem to ‘rock’. I may have damaged the cooling by applying too much pressure idk, it still works fine though, temps are low enough. I used thermal grizzly paste on it too. I want to build into a new tiny case, I have a ‘dtx’ mobo and from some research it seems it will fit into a 3 slot itx case, I also need one that fits an atx PSU though. I’m thinking about getting a aio to replace the snowman but I don’t wanna spend more than $150 on the case+aio
Got the MT6 for cheap here in PH. Great bang for our buck and a solid performer. Downside is if you have a built system and you want to change to MT6 you really have to extract the motherboard because of its old ass mounting system.
Actually, I figured out that if you slowly loosen the screws of the motherboard's mounting bracket, you can easily remove the cooler. However, the catch is that you will need to remove the motherboard to reinstall it. This way of installation ensure the paste always spreads evenly.
I've had a CPU cooler that installed like that MT6 before, what I did was press it straight down onto the CPU and have a buddy do the clips. Worked perfectly.
Snowman T4 Black Edition is now using the same mounting mechanism as the T6, just letting you guys know. In my country though where the cooler is shipped locally instead of coming directly to China. Also the mounting kit here both contains the AMD and Intel variants (but stil the same crappy Intel Mounting Kit). Snowman T6 Black Edition here with 2 ARGB Fans included that should come with a free thermal compound plus 2 mounting kits is around 35.5 USD. Currently I'm using the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 (4 pipes) and its using the same mounting kit for AMD as the ones used with the T6. They are hard to use AF.
upHere N1065, comes in black and white, 6 heatpipes, with or without ARGB, and doesn't use direct contact heatpipes. Is between $33-40 USD depending on the version
The pricing of the Snowman MT4 is a lot more attractive when you're buying several of them at a time, (and pre-pandemic). I think at one point I bought six at once and they came out to $23 CAD all-in.
The mounting installation of the MT6 cooler is actually based on the T20i Cooler Master cooler one, and trust me, they have the same pain in the butt when it comes to the installation, but for the price, it is pretty much what you can ask for.
@@dallesamllhals9161 oh, now i know that, man living in the third world country sucks, but still, i guess Cooler Master is heading for them, you know, cheaper price
Cool, these coolers are really popular here where I live with budget PC builers. You can get them with free shipping and no tax from aliexpress, also you can even get them even cheaper with discounts or coupons. Really good value, but yeah, kina depends on the region you're in.
When i tested i saw zero difference from the gd007 i was using (temps wise). But i hated how its texture was so dry and hard to apply to the cpu, maybe my paste was very old or something...
Did you order them from official store on AE? I ask because mine came packed extremely well (from official store) but I see on many other resellers people complaining about shipping. I agree about quality of plastic clips, it's necessary to ask seller to send few additional ones (they just throw it in without additional charge if you ask) but better solution for Intel platform is what they need in future Btw I usually order two fan version and use second fan as rear case fan :)
Yep always look for an official store on Aliexpress if there is one, and order from them no matter what the item is, and you are more likely to have a good experience.
The issue with the V5 is availability in other regions. We've been trying to get one in for two months now and one was lost, the other got stuck in customs and the latest one arrived without mounting hardware....
I guess that's the problem of not having it "locally available". Here in the Philippines there's a local retailer that stocks these coolers. They also come bundled with slightly better thermal paste, and both AMD and Intel mounting hardware are included. And since it's "local stock", you're not paying for any shipping from China.
that's sa Pinas. At least Canadians can still have access to those Snowmans thanks to AliExpress. The shipping isn't so bad coming to Canada from China. All depending on how heavy the item is. The highest I've paid on s/h from AliExpress is $20 for shipping on asus prime b350 plus mobo.
You didn't install the AMD cooler correctly but it is installed for the 6 heatpipe model. I hate the screw on type with the damn springs. So if you can stand the wait and the charges then the MT6 is a best buy :)
@@HardwareCanucks When you shop on AliExpress, be sure to pick Canadian currency. The default is US pricing, despite picking Canada as region. You'll be charged in Canadian currency on your credit card, and you avoid credit card current conversion rates/fees. One thing you forgot to mention, depending on the shipping method, price of the item, and how the sellers fill the customs forms, you may be charged duty fees.
@@James192p might wanna add, sometimes we can always check parcel forwarding services to see if the total shipping is lower. Though the shipping times will be longer.

Awesome video. I got a dual fan mt6s mounted on my lga 1366 system. I have to say that even tho it was a bit finnicky, installation wasnt really that much of an issue. The plastic push-pins held up through my rather aggressive installation. The mt6s on my atx x58 mobo did intrude on the first pcie slot, so i actually have it rotated so its exhausting to the top of the case. Does an excellent job cooling my w3690 overclocked to 4.12ghz.
Nice video, and actually, we in Africa are facing the same problem with Amazon, the shipping prices are way to expensive in contrast Aliexpress prices seem more reasonable
T Snowman Cooler Master 5 Cooler is the one I got. Still from Snowman, just different series of CPU cooler. I got for $12 shipped for free (this was before COVID). It did take a couple of weeks as it came from China. But man was the performance worth every penny! Outperformed any other air cooler I’ve tried & is on par with a Corsair 120mm CLC I had.
Both those fans look oddily similar to another budget king, the Gelid Phantom. The latter is a sub 40 eur 120mm dual tower with 7(!) heatpipes (3 are 8mm and the other 4 are 6mm).. you just rip those two fans (that are decent but they won't run below 800 rpm and are noisy), put two Arctic P12s (for 10-12 eur) and you get a silent, cheap, but extremely performing cooler. The mounting isn't tremendously good without a long magnetic screwdriver, but it's not as bad as these ones. I used to tame a 5800x with it, then got a Dark Rock Pro 4.. and the Phantom + arctic fans was matching the same temperatures (slightly above 80C on both, ofc the DRP4 is quieter, the fans can cope that max temp at much slower RPM, but still..)
I got the vetroo v5 with 5 heat pipes, metal mounting hardware and argb fan and it rocks, aio level cooling for 17 bucks on Amazon (on sale) with free shipping.
I bought the non-painted MT6 because I thought the paint could interfere with the dissipation of the heat, I put 2 p12 arctic fans on it, with a 5600 it doesn't go above 58-60°C with max load and with the fans at 42% (+ - 1500 rpm) in a 20-25°C room, and just playing cyberpunk it doesn't even go above 40-43°C in ultra, I can't believe how good the MT6 is for the price, I mean, the Noctua NH-D15 must be a little better, but it cost 4 times the price of the MT6. The non-painted one looks from very early 2000, I guess it works a little better than the painted one and since I don't have any RGB because I hate those fairy lights I don't care how it looks, and the mounting piece is very sturdy, youtubers exaggerate a lot
I have a Darkflash DarkAir ARGB Cooler, 120mm fan for the 3600 and it's really good. No temps over 60 or 65°C tops at 1.250v and 4.45GHz while gaming. It costed 34usd, shipped all the way over the pacific to south america, with thermal paste to apply. It costed less than a Hyper 212 would've costed. Don't sleep over Chinese products, just keep an eye on reviews and costumer reviews
Hi! You should try out the low profile coolers in a combat. I bought the is50x wich surprised me! Cooling both cpu, ram and vram at the same time! I use a i5 8600k on a asus z370 -p, and it works really great! Great series of info videos by the way. Joakim from Sweden
Already have an ID-Cooling SE-224XT Black V2 myself but I took a look at Snowman MT4 and MT6S coolers as I'm considering upgrading to a better cooler for my older pc that has a Xeon E3 1240 V3 and it doesn't look like I would be getting one. Snowman coolers were priced pretty cheap around ~$10~$25, but they have problems with the packaging like you mentioned. But most reviews on an online marketplace I checked had really damaged boxes for them to the point where some looked like a ball that was kicked around by a bunch of kids. Lots of crumpled boxes so the heatpipe tops were peeking out, and worst ones have the fan broken and the copper heatpipes cracked. Pretty weird if consdering this in Asia and China isn't too far, but that's pretty telling that the packaging or kind of a lack of additional supporting material inside like foam inside the box is the problem for the beat up packages. There's potential mishandling of packages by couriers, but I've ordered a dceent amount of suff fron China and never seen packages as beat up as those Snowman coolers. Even more unfortunate is that some people who got damaged Snowman coolers had a hard time getting in touch with the sellers.
Thanks for this video. Can I ask what you think of the MX6 from Snowmann? It's a 6 heatpipe with 3 90mm fan at 2000 rpm, around 25/30 bucks. Hope you'll do a try on it. Have a great afternoon/evening.
Hay Mike (and all the good people), Go You, Loving the Vids. Id love to see what you can manage with ARGB from these cheap sites. I'm on an older platform and don't have a header on the mb. some more info on the cheaper options would be really helpful 👍👍
I purchased the MT6 black version a week ago and they changed the mounting system already like the MT4 you have. It's doing a great job for my 3300X vs the stock lousy wraith stealth. The ambient temp in my room was 30-32C and the temp on idle was 35-40 heavy gaming and cinebench r23 was 75 at max. Worth it i guess.

Considering the BOM of a cpu cooler there’s no reason they should cost so much. I do own a few Noctua coolers but recently bought one of those Amazon Veetro coolers on the cheap(which there are tons of clones just like this snowman cooler) and surprisingly works incredibly well on a Ryzen 7 3700x. I just put my own fans on and added an exhaust fan to the back of the cooler.
How did you manage to break the plastic parts on the intel mounting mechanism on the MT6? It's pretty robust and straightforward; i have the exact same mounting mechanism on my own cheapo cooler. Genuinely curious so i know what to look out for
Deepcool Gammaxx 400/400S or some of the ID-COOLING air cooler has pretty good value in my region (Indonesia), not sure about the price in EU or NA though.
here's the thing, in 5:06 why would you make your life harder when you can loosen the 4 screws of the am4 brackets then tighten it after you place the 2 clamps. no messy thermal paste, no force needed and no danger of damaging any parts. Is that easy?
i had to deal with a similar mounting system to the "adapted" intel ring, with the plastic clips to secure it. i went to the hardware store and got bolts and washers so i didn't have to use the plastic clips but could use the adapter ring on an intel board. it was a last minute solution, but it works great.
@@abdulwahabibraheem2742 just small bolts and washers from a hardware store that threaded into the intel OEM backplate. they were m3 bolts, i got four bolts in three different lengths because i wasn’t sure which length would be best
There's actually good cheap options already available. IE: Hyper 212 black edition, Vetroo V5, ID Cooling SE-224-XT. Literally $28, $35, and $21 on amazon right now. And all without the crap mounting solutions.
I've been using this M-T6 dual fan for almost 6th months it's great deal. Bus mine cooler wasn't black and no RGB fan. It has white fans that are attached to M-T4 in the video. Try testing M-T6 with non RGB low RPM fan that comes M-T4 and you'll see downgrade in performance.
Picked up an MT4 new on ebay for £18.89. Strangely it had the pre-installed AMD mount like the MT6 in this video. Would have preferred the screw in mount.
ID Cooling 224 see xt works with 3700x stock very well about 60-70c with case, good noise level also. Best thing, it uses secure firm mounting clone, super easy to install.
I think too little is made of no thermal compound. For a tech reviewer this is no big deal at all, for a regular person this makes the cooler cost $10 more which brings it up an entire price bracket. At that point you are only like 20% cheaper than the noctua, which comes with a 6 year warranty and will likely last you decades. At the point of upgrading to a new system, and this company selling you a $15 adapter socket adapter, you are at the point where they cost you the same, but one is literally the most expensive prestigious premium company and the other is random Chinese trash. This might make sense for a Chinese person to buy, or maybe even American depending on tariffs, what starts off as an amazing deal turns out to really not be after all the additional costs are added.
I know they're expensive, but given their support, free mounting hardware for life, and longevity, it's hard to not just buy something from Noctua, especially given you can get free shipping from most retailers. For the price these are really impressive, but the mounting on the MT6 is nightmarish and the lack of thermal compound and proper mounting hardware otherwise, coupled with the shIpping issues, makes the low upfront price harder to quantify once you add all those things back on and then add shipping
There's one thing that makes me worried about such dodgy coolers and that is quality control. One never knows if the next identical cooler performs the same.
They might be OK because they probably manufacturer for other companies but I don't like these companies that steal IP from the people who do the work to design and engineer this stuff.
Agreed, I've been using Deepcool(use to be known as Logisys, and I have some on older machines branded as that humming away) for years, and their coolers have all been really solid, I even have one of their laptop cooling pads under my cable modem/Asus router(uses the USB port on it for power) running for a few years now to keep them cool(I clean it as needed) with no trouble at all. I always recommend them to anyone on a budget looking for a good CPU Cooler, laptop cooling pad, or to help keep their hot modem/router cool.

Update : August 28, 2021 | I've recently received my Snowman 4 heatpipe single fan cooler to go with a rebuild of a c2d e8400 on a socket 775 mobo. There is nothing wrong with the AMD adapter ring for use on an intel board. Long as you are careful with what you are doing with the white plastic mounts and the black push pins to secure the white plastic mounts to the mobo. The fact in the video he damaged the parts means he wasn't careful. My snowman cooler is keeping temps in check for my c2d e8400 between 40 - 50 Celsius. I plan to order another Snowman, the downdraft version to cool an Intel e5-2650 v2 build I mentioned above instead of the tower style Snowman. The thermal compound not being included is not a downside, why should they include thermal compound when DIYers usually have their own preferred thermal compound of choice? it would be wasted cost on Snowman's part.
did you buy your bundle recently?. cause i find it odd that you bought the v2 version where you could have a v3 Cpu with unlocked turboboost which are way better.

My MT-4 bought in 2019 has the same mounting system as your MT-6, so they must of changed it in the last two years for the better.

I've bought 3 M-T6's and work superb.

Worked perfectly.
what processor do you have?
I think at one point I bought six at once and they came out to $23 CAD all-in.
wow
The mounting installation of the MT6 cooler is actually based on the T20i Cooler Master cooler one, and trust me, they have the same pain in the butt when it comes to the installation, but for the price, it is pretty much what you can ask for.

Did you order them from official store on AE? I ask because mine came packed extremely well (from official store) but I see on many other resellers people complaining about shipping.
I agree about quality of plastic clips, it's necessary to ask seller to send few additional ones (they just throw it in without additional charge if you ask) but better solution for Intel platform is what they need in future
Btw I usually order two fan version and use second fan as rear case fan :)

The issue with the V5 is availability in other regions. We've been trying to get one in for two months now and one was lost, the other got stuck in customs and the latest one arrived without mounting hardware....
Yeah it does. It's just faster shipping. Most things on Amazon is shipping from China.

I got the vetroo v5 with 5 heat pipes, metal mounting hardware and argb fan and it rocks, aio level cooling for 17 bucks on Amazon (on sale) with free shipping.
all what matters is the heatsink... you can change the fans to an cooler master fan.. and will be fine

Have a great afternoon/evening.

here's the thing, in 5:06 why would you make your life harder when you can loosen the 4 screws of the am4 brackets then tighten it after you place the 2 clamps. no messy thermal paste, no force needed and no danger of damaging any parts. Is that easy?
There is also snowman m-x6 and it's dual tower 92mm cooler. Best compatibility for small cases
Wait, is there a reason you didn't just try the dual-fans on the T6? As far as I can tell, the fans should just mount fine without issue...

I'd personally just go with the deepcool gammaxx series. Gammaxx 400, 400s, gt, gte, etc

@@marcc5768 for me right now the 2640 v3 is the BEST bang for your buck cpu for litearlly 175 euro's you can have a 8/16 thread cpu/16gigs ram/motherboard/cooler that is slightly less powerfull than a r5 3600 by '8%' that costs around "160" euros.
