My mates sleep in hammocks, but it's too cold for them. So they light a fire, usually the wood is damp and it smokes out the entire camp. They also leave beer cans and bottles everywhere. I don't camp with them anymore. I would always go back and pickup the rubbish but I shouldn't have to

I had a massive argument with a friend in the Peak District because he wouldn't take his rubbish with him,we were there for 5nights 6 days so had a lot of rubbish I tied my bin bag to back of my pack my friend decided to just dump his rubbish when I wasn't looking because I was ahead of him.when I saw no rubbish I knew he dumped it so I left him and drove home on my own.i spent the 5 days banging on about "leave no trace"its really important to me. it may seem I'm a bad friend for leaving him but I found leaving no trace more important than our friendship.

The birch bark needs to be scraped with the knife , or the back of it , to create a decent pile of birch bark dust, this will catch a spark nearly straight away as with other tinders ......FAIL TO PREPARE............ Hey, watched the video while cooking my partner breakfast, brilliant video and very enjoyable to watch. You are refreshing, honest, and having a good time. I reckon you're one of the best RUclipsrs in the wild camping, equipment reviewing section for the UK. Watching you makes me wish I lived in the Sheffield area, be a pleasure and a privilege to share a wild camp with you.
I haven't hot tented in over 25 years, used to go out with my mates in Canada. We'd tie a Toboggan to the back of Skidoos ( snow machines) and head out. We used the poles from an old 8-man canvas tent and wrap tarps around it. The stove was an old potbelly stove, that worked well but not perfectly. I had a bag good to minus 60, so wasn't too worried, glad I had it as would go down into the minus 30s on occasion. They were good times. Watching you brings those memories back. ..cheers for that!

I bought one at your Referal when you first showed it . Used mine last night with a pioneer stove . An awesome bit of kit . I use the door where the stove sits to the right of the double door with my bed across the widest point . I think in a couple of years all the silver will peel off the inside of the tent but I was so warm and ended up cooking steak on my pioneer stove . It was totally waterproof and I used slow burn 8 hr “man made” logs overnight . So nice to be laying in my sleeping bag listening to the pouring rain .

    Hello friend!
Drinking coffee in the second half of the day significantly affects the quality of sleep. Even if falling asleep is not a problem, coffee does not help you rest as well for the new day. Try to drink some green tea or herbal teas etc while camping also when not camping :)

I usually try and set the stove up to burn all night. I add 4-6 lumps of coal just before bed and that keeps things warm for about 6 hours. I just leave the door open a bit. There is always a breeze in winter in the UK to keep things fresh and my Iron Wall doesnt exactly seal to the ground. Stove is a Winnerwell Titanium Fast Fold.

There are different types of hot tent camping. These little stoves have very little thermal mass, and shorter burn times.
These little stoves, often are only 12-16" long, and 8-10" wide/tall. its a fairly small burn chamber. so yo only get 2-3 hour burn times. Thts the trade off for being light weight.
Now the other end of this, is the heavier "portable" these things are for snowmobile camping, sleigh camping, where you are packing heavy gear in. The stoves are in the 80-100 pound range to begin with THEN you add in large water tanks on them... (increasing thermal mass even more).
These stoves are in 24-26" long, and 12-16 wide. damped right down they have a burn time of 6 hours for the smaller side to as much as 12 hours for the larger. these bigger protable stoves are made to be run 24/7 in a tent. feeding them a few times a day... and only opening up the dampers to control the temp, when cooking.
These however are made for BIG tents... sidewalls with 120-300 square feet area, and/or in temps from 0 to -40.

Great Review of the Tent which looks good value. I noticed it seemed a bit of a pain!" rolling" the stove chimney, do you prefer the sectioned ones?

I used the same sleeping bag last night i was boiling i had to have it unzipped. It rained hard all day till 5.30am. What light wait mat would you recommend.

I use them for that ! 👌🏼 Two guys stopped me in the supermarket and asked me what they're for and i explained and then said "but you could use them as a mosquito net instead!" - I think they thought I was a wild woman ..I guess I am! 😅
