@@georgeynwa9414 Play Firmino in midfield. That's what he did for part of the second half against Everton. Firmino should have started in midfield with Nunez or Jota in the center. Also, Gomez should have started as right back and Trent should have been benched. Gomez is now going to be benched permanently after this horrendous performance.
For me Trent was shocking try him in midfield because we all know he’s the target in defense..
Let us also not Forget that Klopp spent 3 months telling us we can't find "the right player" to sign. Yet, here we are starting James Milner in a CL away game. What a joke.

It is time to switch from 4 3 3. We don't have 3 decent midfielders that can start the game and Fabinho is out of form. We have to play 4 2 3 1 with Nunez in the front and Firmino, Diaz, Jota, Salah, and Elliott rotating in the 3. I would also experiment with Salah in the center. That might unleash him. Fabinho and Thiago should play the midfield pivot, with Arthur covering for 1 of the two.
This is it right here.. I don't see why it's so difficult.. anybody can see this.. or a really close version of it .giving us a fighting chance..even the edge in some instances
Yup, this is what we call rebuild phase.. i don’t mind if we lose 1 or 2 games if they at least show an effort to change, not just say we in a phase to rebuild but do the same thing all over again.

@@simeonivanov3507 but if he cannot play central, then putting him there would probably have a negative effect on the system.. therefore the system-players chemistry and compatibility are to be factored.. there are top form players out there, but with what we currently have..we must now tweak the system to suit getting the best from our players at hand.. once we decide to play them

Salah is just going through the realization that Mane is the love of his life but he is all the way in Germany now.
Very simple really, Klopp has not been given the chance to build the next Liverpool team. We should never be starting James Milner. We should be able to drop a underperforming Salah with options on the bench. Players like Chamberlain and Keita need to leave. We cannot rely on some Thiago magic every now and then. Trent needs somebody breathing down his neck to replace him. It’s a tragedy that FSG have allowed this to happen. We still haven’t replaced Gini and Origi. I love Klopp but he is far to loyal, this team worked miracles from 2016-2020 and 21/22 I think was the last push for this group of players. They look tired, worn out and devoid of ideas. They are human and they can only push so far.

Its not even about tactics anymore… there’s no desire to even play.
The problems are as follows
1) vvd gone into his shell since milner gave him bollacking vs utd, no longer a commanding figure at the back
2) trent getting badly exposed due to lack of protection down the right from harvey and mo
3) fab being asked to cover too much ground, needs help from the other 2 midfielders
4) harvey not good enough for a liverpool midfield the way we play. He is decent at passing but very poor defensivly, has no pace or physicality and doesnt press with aggression
5) milner has lost his cool head, now jumps in wrecklessly and runs round like a headless chicken
6) mo not putting in the effort since his new contract, sud hav let him go and kept mane. Mo cant beat his man.
7) bobby too old and slow to play the bobby role
Need to pull out trent, vvd, harvey, milner, mo and bobby and give others a shot. I recall a decent rightback in a few pre season games from youth setup, id play him cant do any worse.
Agree with all, one annoying/funny thing is that I commented an about 4 posts before a ball was kicked this season saying that letting Mane go was such a mistake, people who know fuck all about football absolutely berated me in comments saying “Salah is twice the player of Mane” because all they see is goals, they are so dumb they can’t see just how fucking much Mane did for that team, he got most of our goals second half of last season, he does more defensively than most of the midfield, he creates so many chances, he filled in as a number 9 numerous times and played just as good there as he did on the left. The aggression and physicality he brings to the team was amazing. I agree with most of your points however you say pull out Trent who replaces the nineteen year old child we bought from Aberdeen where he played little is injured, we sold Neco William a Welsh international, Millie is too old and Gomez has played CB so who replaces Trent. Again Millie in midfield yes he is far to slow and not good enough but who do we play Ox, Keita, Jones Hendo injured, Thiago just back and not match fit and Arthur hasnt kicked a ball in months. Again Bobby too old, he was playing because Jota injured and Nunez suspended. Mo needs dropping but we cant because we only had 12 fit players. Harvey needs time but is forced to play because of injuries. Last two seasons Ox, Keita, Milner should have been replaced and Jones should be sent on loan to prove his quality and fitness. We wont get out of this until we bring in three quality midfielders, quality back up for Trent, Thats a minimum.

Seems as if our whole squad has been off since the start of the season apart from 2 or 3 players at most. I believe that this is the case because of the fact that we lost the champions league and couldn’t beat city to the premier league title. This surely demotivated the team and that’s why almost every player is out of form. We need change

Klopp came to liverpool and made us into champions in a few seasons with his specific style, the best team in the world we said and still just a point behind city twice, lost out to winning a quad by 2 games. the boys are spent, the team needs a reboot, i feel the cycle to renew that has passed us by and Klopp is clinging to old players that just can’t cut it anymore and FSG won’t back him properly so it’s a slow spiral decline into mid table or worse

Thing with Bobby is sometimes his touch is bad all game long. Lately if he starts with a couple of bad touches, he won’t recover for the rest of the game. But he’s been good overall this season

Most rational fans don't want klopp to be sacked but no one is above criticism and this season there's been a lot of questionable line ups, tactics and subs and all of those fall at his feet.
Why are we playing a 37 year old Milner nearly every game?

Man city did well to rotate their squad around to keep players fresh Liverpool however never did such a thing because they simply can’t. They don’t have the squad deep enough and haven’t since the days of prime Shaquiri, Origi, and slightly younger Milner

Harvey is doing absolutely brilliant where he is playing, And I can't say it enough how much I admire his heart. BUT I really have to stress this.... He is not a natural midfielder.
He is giving absolutely everything he has but just watch the shape of our midfield throughout the game. There were times where they were all parallel to each other, I think Harvey is occupying that space mode loves to go into because they are both left footed and both have the same instinct for goal, because they are both natural RW's.
Mané gone, Salah is done, because together they were the tandem that made the Reds relentless in the past 5/6 years, period.
Harvey Eliot is an excellent individual player, but does not link up play with Mo attacking wise, and does not cover TAA defensively. When he plays the right side is less dangerous attacking and more vulnerable defensively. Seems we are out of options

What’s happened to Gomez, a few seasons ago he was Van Dykes go to partner. Tonight he was horrendous,played like a novice. As for Salah, that new contract has done him the world of good NOT. We needed a scoring midfielder but instead we’re banking on Bellingham joining next season. On tonight performance he might look else where.
He's always been horrendous, VVD made him look good back then. The problem with this fanbase is that you hype up every player no matter how badly they keep messing up and this wasn't the first time Gomez played this badly.
And people act like Bellingham solves all the problems, surely they need to replace Hendo and Milner. Love em both but they cannot be dead set starters anymore, especially James fucking Milner. He’s not Modric at 37 lol

He's played in three european cup finals, one uefa cup final and finished runner up in the premier league twice. Gomez is coming back from a lengthy lay off and has to prove himself again after serious injuries. So the jury is out. Milner has been brilliant for us but getting on a bit now. He's been a fantastic servant and like Gomez, won everything too. So how about you show some respect?
7/10 for diaz? id personally give him atleast an 8 maybe even a 9, the whole team were 5’s and 6’s with a couple 4’s but diaz and alisson can’t be knocked, ali saved a pen and couldn’t do anything really about any of the goals so ali should get a 7 as it’s not his fault we gave them clear cut chances then diaz did everything right the only time he didn’t do what was right was when he’d have to pass to a player who wasn’t arsed

When you have a team of average players except for a couple of players when average players are playing great as a team thats one thing but when an average player plays average with other average players you have an average team last year they played average no goals in 3 finals and Trent cost us the champions league title in Europe. Where’s our Erling Haaland or Kevin De Bruyne or ilkay Gundogan? just to name a few. LFC is average with some very good players but Trent must be benched until he works out how to defend how many assists vs how many mistakes last season?

I don’t think the problem is mane leaving, for me the problem is Elliot not providing enough cover for the defence, so the defence is having to do more I.e Fabinho and Trent keeps getting caught out, and this is exposing the back line

What does Nat Phillips have to do to get a game. He played out of his skin when he stepped up two seasons ago, and refused a loan/transfer to fight for the team. Yet the same respect isn’t given back. He’s far better than Gomez in his ball winning and defending. He’s sat there watching this game. He must wish he’d left. Bloody shame.

Considering Napoli hit the post when they should have scored, then missed a penalty and also made a complete mess of another. It could have been 7-1.

Harvey played his heart out. I helped in the defense, attack and midfield. Elliot deserve a 7. Only 3 players showed up today- Alisson, Diaz and Elliot. Bobby was ok, not spectacular. Salah was awful expect him to dominate and draw defenders to himself. All the opponents key attackers-Victor Oshimehin, Zaha; Anthony, Mitrovic make our defense to feel their impacts. Our front attackers on the right hand side has been dead in all our games. The center, with Mane, and the creativity on the left. - Diaz, Carvalho and Firmino (apart from today) - have been bailing us out. The fact is that the game on the right hand side is baeed on speed and not technique. All it takes to render Salah toothless is to prevent him from speeding and closely mark him. Once you prevent our speedster from running, Salah's influence is neutralized. Liverpool needs creative players, like Diaz, Mane, Anthony, who combine speed with technical ability to pass through defenders. Elliot and Carvalho can fill this gap after about one or two seasons. Luverpool needs a major surgery. I'm glad that Klopp finally has the ball to sub Salah. Based on the way he has been playing since AFCON, Elliot, Carvalho, Jota can play the #11 role much better

The analysis is very correct, perhaps a curse came to the REDS? Many criticize Diaz because he retains the ball or goes back, but how is he not going to do it if he does not have a teammate with whom he can make a wall, a triangulation or a filtered pass,
the guy has to do his dribbling to be able to pass players because his teammates are lukewarm without moving.
The REDS can't wait for only Diaz or Thiago to do magic in the game, Salah has always been the top scorer for the REDS and he is off, Milner can no longer play as a starter, there are opponents who always beat him.

Share your frustrations. Let's give the team time to absorb the newcomers and create a system to play with the newbies, let the injured return and consolidate a consistent lineup, build confidence and re-evaluate. Yes about Trent even Robertson, even Milner, even Salah, even a shaky Van Dijk so you are right about everything. If Manu Utd can turn things around miraculously in a game, then Klopp deserves a couple of games to sort it out. Very disappointing. By the way , for a cocaine funded football team, the Napoli pitch was absolute shite.

I said a year or two ago that we'll be in trouble as our ageing midfield will all need replacing on top of the 1 year left on both mane and salah contracts. Nothing has been done whatsoever, but on a happier note we can now take the credit for been the richest club in England apparently!!! FSG OUT!!!!! 1 Trent. Exactly what position was he playing. Anything but right back it seems.
2 Gomez. Wasn't good enough for my Sunday league team.
2 VVD. Half asleep half of the time. Like he was in the last few months at Southampton.
5 Robbo. Did ok. Score helped by Diaz.
3 Milner. Guilty of doing too much. As a centre back I would be yelling at him to get out of my space. Too slow and always 2nd to the ball, giving away free kicks.
3 Fabinho. Just not in form. Didn't know he was on the pitch.

9 Diaz. Not sure what more he could have done. Tracked back. Double marked a lot of the time. Always a threat. Scored a great goal.
4 Firmino. Played some neat stuff. Midfield was lightweight so ended up tracking back too much.

One of lfc fallacies is that TAA is good going forward! He is NOT !! He has a pathetic completion rate and assists considering the number of crosses he has in front of the goal! I don't know what it is with Trent, he's turned into this other character. He used to be enthusiastic, and a much more happier. Craig, the simple truth is that we have not strenghened. Mane left and we got Nunes in so that is an equal so to speak. Diaz has been great. We've got this midfielder in a panic yet we still start a 37 year old. We simply do not spend like the other so called big clubs. They have all spent in excess of 200 million and our net spend must be zero or thereabouts. Unless the owners, and Klopp to a degree, start spending serious money to strenghen the squad we will return to where we were before Klopp came. I do not think we will finish in the top four this year and not a chance in any of the cup competitions. It seems that we are depending on Bellingham coming next season. Should have been this season if he wants to come. Cannot keep playing a 37 year old and I'm not taking anything from him, he is fantastic of course but you cannot change your age. Why didnt the new guy start? Salah is having a torrid time of it, he has these long barren spells and he is having one now. Whatever you think, we are missing Mane hugely. I think I would rather have seen Salah go.

I like to know where are all the so called cocky clueless Liverpool fans (if they are even Liverpool fans) that been chastising the critical fan base by shouting “trust” Klopp, Julian Ward and FSG, “respect” them and there is no need to invest in the core midfield area. Aging midfielders enough? Does Pool continue to have quality squad especially in midfield depth (CAM and CDM)? Ox and Keita to be our solutions? Plan a squad without expecting injuries? Fans have been calling these out even before season started but the inept Sporting Director and FSG think we are fine. To me, Klopp is a great coach but he is just toeing the corporate line. Wasting a whole season right from the start. Top 4 will be a grand outcome at this rate.

we’re blaming everyone else because it’s natural but it really is the midfield that’s been the problem, fabinho has been in bad form and he’s been nexto 2 midfielders who would start for mid table or even lower prem teams, if the midfield can keep the ball and prevent counter attacks the defence wouldn’t be exposed as much
