Keeping Keita and Ox when they could have been sold in summer when they were fit was a massive error. Look what happened within a couple of games... out for months. Jones isn't good enough. Taki was one of our form forwards and was sold without a second thought... yet we keep those who haven't really offered much. I'm furious at the shit show in summer. We went big on Nunez but the nonsense that we had all we needed in the midfield and keeping all of those players has to questioned. The absolute state of us. They look like they don't want to play as a team.

Yes. The Jones experiment is over. Players mature by age 23, but he hasn't shown any development in the last two years and he isn't showing anything to suggest that he should be given more time. Instead, I see a worrying level of slackness. Even Elliott is ahead of him.

@David Keeling, he did the same thing Alexander-Arnold did a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe how stupid these young English players are. They really need to go abroad on loan to learn the game (spacial awareness and tactical discipline). Liverpool fans give them a free pass because they are homegrown. But these two remind me of Dele Alli, especially Alexander-Arnold. He has become too big-headed and too selfish and it looks like all the talk in media is affecting him. The midfield rebuild should have started 2 years ago, it was obvious we had 3 useless players and 3 aging ones.

Gomez is one of the few saleable assets at LFC, and I'd now be looking at getting that English premium for him in the summer, with a fresh, young defender coming in to push VVD, Konate and Matip

I think that Gomez ship may have saled. Last year Villa under Gerrard wanted him, but Liverpool handing out sweeties gave him a bumper contract and let Mane et al go. Also the defender who helped us get 3rd in that Covid season Nat Philips who also was man of the match at San Siro last season cant buy a game. Gomez regrettably is not good enough for a top 6 team and is probably mid tier premier level. Sad but probably true. One thing I will add though is VVD needs to be dropped as he is a major concern in the back and s cause also of Gomez's decline as well. Its like VVD cannot instinctively read the game anymore? The answer is that he is not fully fit and cannot turn the burners on like he used to.

Not the silkiest on the ball but he is made for defending and we are shocking back there right now. Just another player given game after game regardless of performance level.
Even if his legs were made of solid gold there will be no premium being paid for him .
Nunez put in the same sort of performance for which Firmino typically gets so much plaudits. Nunez did a good job of pressing and linking play, even if he could not deliver the goal(s) that we needed. I'm not sure what Firmino's role was in this game - again, very little impact in any phase of the game.

1: Told Thiago to become Makelele instead of being a generational maestro (he got 7 tackles today like wth)
2: told Mo Salah to stay wide like a f'ing wing back for 2 months this season, costing us many points.
3: Told Darwin to shoot less in training which is by far his best atribute & a consequence of his playing style.
4: Continued to encourage Trent to spam crosses untill like 2 weeks ago.
5: Told Naby lad to stop dribbling which was his most impressive attritbute at RB Leipzig (that & his interception number).

Pep Linjders is the 1st team coach. Klopp set the blue print and Pep is shite at what he does. That's why we are the most predictable team in the world. All teams , fans and their dogs know how we play. Here is the game plan ; pass the ball out wide to the full backs and cross. That's all we do. When was the last time we played one twos or one touch football in the penalty area ??? Where is the creativity I the final 3rd ?

Darwin Nunez was meh not great he had chances but Meslier wasn't having any of it also I think Bobby Firmino couldn't get into the game because Liverpool couldn't link up that much they did a bit but not as much as they would like we were great at breaking Liverpools play and build up

Leeds fan here .. we're not one of the 'bottom clubs' now ( thanks, 'Pool :-D ). We've been playing some tasty footie at times, let down by finishing. Some good young attackers coming through now, though.
I thought Robertson and Thiago gave their all but we’re constantly isolated, had no help. They need about 3 or 4 players added to the squad. A player like Declan Rice could make a massive difference. They need more bite in midfield.

You're correct in all you've said Craig...and you've called it for some time....our beloved Liverpool needs an overhaul...5 or 6 players are past it...and I say that with great respect for all they've done for us over the years....unfortunately for us and Jurgen...this has all happened very swiftly to be able to deal with.
The level of play within the Premier League has upgraded very swiftly...maybe due to teams like Liverpool and Manchester City....our FSG owners don't seem to have realised this ....not Klopp's fault....if our loss to Leeds on our home ground doesn't help them to realise that high level sport has become scientific...and that's linked into wise investment...then I don't know.

To be fair to Gomez, Alisson and VVD should have been more alert as Rodrigo was 2 yards behind VVD and was first to the ball as Alisson looked like he'd been cemented to the pitch.

As a Liverpool fan that has been supporting since 2017, when Salah came, I am seeing the worst Liverpool team apart from our VVD injury year, in the time i've been watching them. More angering perhaps, is just HOW fast this drop off came. We went from almost achieving a historic quadruple, to fuckin losing to two relegation teams, in the span of just a few months. This isn't normal! I'm really worried, that this wont turn around, and we will end up losing that momentum we gained all those 5 years. And furthermore, if this keeps spiraling, we need to seriously consider a rebuild, and possibly even Jurgen Klopp walking. Because I can't see him WANTING to stay on a team which is similar to a burning building. Hopefully we can water the fire for our sake.

Where do I start......we are in a very bad way. Joe Gomez reminds me of Jimmy Traore....remember him? Virtually all the Liverpool players need to be changed. THERE is something happening behind the scenes and reminds when Dalglish and Rodgers got the sack. The players are not playing for the manager. Klopp for me is close to getting the chop. He is not getting much right at the moment and yes the media is trying to derail him, but we're just plain shite at the moment. @@Monkeypoleyes i did see the first goal, it was thanks to the pressure leads put on gomez forced the mistake. So yes it was earned! If gomez wasn't being pressed like that then the mistake doesn't happen.

By no means that is because he is a bad manager but he is too loyal to the players he signed and his willingness to work with a limited budget will only take the club backword. 1 RB
2 CB - i don't think konate reliable for a long run with Gomez inconsistent performance
3 - new midfield ( DM , CM , AM )
1 RW - to give salah some rest during tight schedule

I think you were very kind with your rateings for Firmino aand Jones they were abismal . Although Gomez made tgat horrific schoolboy mistake at the start , I dont think he was as bad as you say for the rest of the game. Klopp takes to many risk and putting in wrong players at the wrong time like Milner for example for Trent when we need to go attacking but we need Bellingham

Of course you are right, but they are not available and we need a plan to cover that. What we saw against Forest and Leeds was embarrassing. Klopp is an excellent manager, but he seems to have his hands tied by loyalty to players who are not having a good season or are past their prime, and the indecision and reluctance to spend of FSG.

VVD actually didn't play that bad. I would've given him a 6. It was just the Summerville incident. Nunez didn't also play that bad. He hesitated with the easy chance that he had but he had good link up play and improved in the 2nd half.

Craig, like you mentioned Cavalho would have been a better sub than Jones, who is mediocre at best. We need to start selling off the dead wood Craig. Too many injury prone players on the bench getting paid to shine bench. Keita is one that must march, Oxlade next, Jones, Gomez and Fabinho.

I'm a proud Liverpool fan who always resist taking my own players on, but this time it has been too much. How long will it take Klopp to notice that Gomez is VERY RELIABLE.....in assisting the opposition?
Your own third of the field needs to be treated with respect. It's a danger zone. It's not a place where you can make a back pass in such a casual manner that you don't even raise your eyes to see where WHO is!
Secondly, it seems all Liverpool defenders are NON-tacklers. They run along, sort of accompanying an attacker on his way to their own goals. At one time it took Thiago to run back and make a tackle. I still believe VVD, Robertson and Tsimikas can do better, but the others must just go. TAA can stay but join the midfield permanently. He is good going forward.
I fear Klopp could walk. This is going to be a huge job to turn this around. Liverpool need at least 3 top quality signings right now and will need need another 4 or 5 on top of that in the coming years.
Complacency has set in. Too many players became too comfortable after winning the league. It's almost an attitude of we've made it now. Our job is done and we can live off that for the rest of our careers. Nowhere near good enough. Big changes needed.

Nunez isn't a clinical finisher. He smashes the ball, but doesn't pick his spot. He'll score some goals but he'll never be a top striker until he develops the coolness in front of goal that Salah has.
IMO Liverpool's BIGGEST problem is their defence. They've got to get back to basics and build from THE BACK forward.
The two games we did not start Arnold in the past month - City and West Ham - we did not concede. Its absurd the guy is back in the team. He is a woeful defender. Drop Arnold and Gomez asap.

Bit harsh on a number of the players here. Robertson put in the most effort from the entire team, the only one trying to take on players from the other side. Giving him a 5 and some of the words you said are a bit much imo. Gomez was bad but cmon, a 2? Saying thiago's performance wasn't great? He's the only Liverpool midfielder who had control, hard to win when everyone around you is having an off day. Thiago performed much better than you've stated.

i don’t agree the criticism on joe gomez. I’d like to see him start with konaté and van dijk dropped. This is so disappointing from you craig, you seem to just leave van dijk out when he was the biggest problem on the field. Joe gomez has been doing a brilliant job of covering up for trent and his passing as well. I hate to hear that he got a 2 when van dijk got a 4. Gomez has so much more effort than van dijk and i’d love for joe to start over van dijk.
