I am watching you right now while I have Velcro straight above my head where I sleep. I Velcro my phone to the top of the cabinets and lay in bed watching you and other videos while I'm snug in my sleeping bag! I can reach the phone while laying down to start the next video! My favorite hack
Since I am quite immobile and live 90% of my life on/in my bed (10% at the docs), I will be using the eye glass case hack, the remote hack and the phone hack. I will also be using it to mount my power cords so I don't have to search for them around on the floor I can barely reach and hang some pictures I have sorely missed. Thanks Carolyn. Stay safe!
One thing you could start this video is ,,, Your rig is a rolling "Seismic Event" or another words a 6 wheeled Earthquake. First time RV owners notice their rig is a "Kindergarten Rhythm Band" with this and that rattling and clunking while you are in motion.
I also have Velcro strips go around my van side and back doors. When i get there, i open the doors and velcro my mosquito net from top to bottom so no gaps for them to get in. The opening is magnetic so u can get in and out leaving the rest in place
Tents don't come with enough places to put my things. I made a huge storage unit made from netting material, I used velcro to attach it. I am going to hang my speaker up with velcro. Thank you for this video Carolyn. My tent is going to be organized with velcro! 🙂 Stay safe and have fun!
The stand-out idea for me was the speaker! I, too, don't like worrying about disturbing my neighbors! The cloth idea and rugs are great too! Especially with the larger straps! I could use it to pot up metal strips for magnets also. Thank you so much! 😊
I also use velcro like that. I have it on my dash cam and my easy pass I use it on everything the remotes are my favorite, they were under my coffee table now its a glass coffee table so there behind the couch it has saved me from losing the fireplace remote, (they only way to turn my fireplace on). Thanks for sharing. Love ya, Nancy
Great video! For extra coverage, I've been wanting to find a way to attach a tarp to my van back doors. I just purchased some strong magnets, but I think I'll get some velcro. Looks a lot easier, plus more pleasing to the eye. Thank you!
One thing I learned about the sticky back Velcro - Do NOT try to sew it on with a sewing machine! It gums up the needle and thread, and makes a mess. I don't know if you'd get the same issue with hand sewing, I just bought the Velcro that is made to be sewn on.
Yes, it’ll stick when hand sewing. Use some rubbing alcohol ot goo b gone to remove the sticky Velcro backing if you need to sew 1/2 of it and stick the other side
Thanks for the great resourceful tips! I know someone who uses Velcro to attach embroidered patches on clothing so the patches can be removed before the clothing goes into the washing machine. Happy Trails!
Velcro on the bottom of the paper towel holder, and Velcro on the bottom of the printer. My cell provider is Consumer Cellular, I pay $27 monthly, and they run off the AT&T network. 10 years, and now one complaint 🤙🏼
For those with push to start vehicles, I put a piece of velcro on my key fob and another on the side of the steering wheel where you would put your key normally and velcro the key fob. We were always looking for the key fob in our car. Is it in my purse, my pocket, the console, my husbands pocket? Now if the is on, the key fob is in one place
I used heavy duty velcro to install the CB in my truck so that when I'm traveling it's easy to take it out so it isn't tempting thieves. LOL! But my favorite hack is that I bought an upright phone holder that's supposed to suction to the dash but it's too tall for my dash (it would create a blind spot), so instead I used Alien tape to attach it to the driver's door. It's in the perfect spot to see Google Maps, but doesn't block my view of the mirror at all. I did have to buy a longer charging cord though. This video just reminded me to make sure I bring all the magnetic strips from my craft room when I get my camper trailer. LOL
Yeah, velcro is da bomb for remotes. I love that stuff. You have a lot of good uses for it and absolutely, if we have an easy way to put things away in a consistent spot, we're more likely to use that spot and find things when we want them.
I bought some velcro and haven't used it yet but now im inspired! I think i got it early on to close my curtains between driving and living areas but i got a 3rd curtain instead to overlap
I tried using Velcro to hold my reflectix to my windows but the summer heat kept the glue too gooey so it would come off the window when I was taking them down
Well this was a fun one great ideas. I heard the man that invented it Went camping and he got Thistles stuck on his pants and the light bulb went off and next thing you know there was velcro
Thanks for all the good ideas! Looking forward to trying velcro in my Pacifica minivan. Recently went Nomad and having a blast, BUT I will be glad when I get the organization better in here. Hope the one made for cloth will work on headliner. And one of them will work on the plastic interior. 😜Stay tuned. 🤞🏼🦋💚
Why did I never know that velcro comes in strengths? Of course it does. Why didn't I realize? Thanks for the good info. P.S. I velcro an extra set of keys in a hidden spot to my motorhome.
Brilliant! I did my van build and Velcro was used - my one burner stove velcros to the aluminum counter top, rugs, remotes... but never figured out #1 , and have been struggling with phone for 5 years,, duh
I did buy the sew on kind to sew onto my black out curtains and then the sticky back to attach to the metal frame of the window. I wanted to be able to wash it. But I carry a small sewing machine with me- so it was easier than it would be for others.
I really think those are great tips!! I've taken the light weight dots (Dollar Tree) and used them in my apartment tub shower to keep the curtain against the wall. Also they come in handy for pens, although the sticky does release after a while. 🥶🖤🔔👍🏻💓
Pretty cool, I plan on hanging a curtain and my portable speaker with velcro. I've been using binder clips from the dollar store to hang privacy curtains and its a pain to clip it on everyday. Thanks
I’ve used Velcro on my kitchen cabinets-that wont stay shut. Just a little glue on each side to place on each cabinet floor….Wa-La…they shut and stay shut. Yeah🎉 I’m going to use some of your ideas too Carolyn ! Great stuff !!!
With age my hearing is not the best, esp at night. I bought a small speaker & I love it. Velcro ideas are universal for sticks & bricks too. Love in Sarasota ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for all the great ideas for using Velcro. I use some of them too. I am changing over to mint mobile now waiting for the physical sim card to start.
Can I get the link to the overhead hammock please? I keep finding short fruit hammock, tri-point toy hammocks or trunk nets. FYI: I use a label maker to label all my remotes. It's insane. My USB powered fan, tea lights, stringlights, sticky pop lights all have Itty bitty tiny remotes.
Use it to wrap your wires and hoses and also to stick your most often tools to the storage bay. I also use it on my soap in the bathroom so it stays put.
I’ve used Velcro to quick-hem new pants until I have time for needle and thread. I’m 5’3” - pants are always too long. On the clothing theme - if you Lose a button on a shirt or jacket, same thing - a square of Velcro.

Leave the backing on and sew right over it, I also change the needle size up will make it easier to sew.
Thanks for sharing!!
Great content! I'm going to try hanging my pictures. Thank you Carolyn!
Wonderful!
Remotes! Why didn’t I think of that! And the bedside stuff. Genius. And a commenter mentioned the edge of the shower curtain. Thank you!

FYI: I use a label maker to label all my remotes. It's insane. My USB powered fan, tea lights, stringlights, sticky pop lights all have Itty bitty tiny remotes.

I don't understand how to wrap wires with it since you can only wrap one side around it... ???
I've seen others say this! thanks for sharing Lola
I’ve used Velcro to quick-hem new pants until I have time for needle and thread. I’m 5’3” - pants are always too long.
On the clothing theme - if you Lose a button on a shirt or jacket, same thing - a square of Velcro.
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing Pricilla!
too bad Mint Mobile does not deal with Alaska Phone numbers with 907 area code. Come on get with it.
ahaa. The cell phone!
:-)
I wish I could think of the next great invention like velcro and become a millionaire🤣🤣
Question... Is it possible to remove the Velcro without damaging the walls??
I don't think so, if you use really good adhesive its not gonna come off easy lol
Try using a hair dryer, altho it would probably take some time getting it off.
👍
I Velcro my phone to the center of my steering wheel so I can can talk while driving using the speaker phone
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Why didn't you ask Velcro to Sponsor you lolol
Great video👍👍
