- Long video, but lots of cool snakes in this one! We had several really productive nights (and a few really unproductive ones as well) during this week, and instead of making a half TX half NM/AZ video I just decided to lump them all into this long one! Next video will be from my AZ/NM trip!

Rattler crawling over a cig butt is the most Texas thing I’ve seen in awhile😂
Gray and orange alterna was just spectacular
Copper heads are my favorite, they are just so beautiful in my opinion. That one you saw a video or two ago was STUNNING!
*Copperhead. All one word.
@@Julia.Taunton-Clark99 shut up
Your videos are even educational because you get up close to some dangerous snakes (hence the black tailed Rattler) and they never tried to strike. Snakes only bite because they feel trapped and threatened. Love watching your videos!
Never seen a snake crawl backwards while ready to STRIKE, wow!
Amazing how the snake 🐍backs up and keeps his 👀on you
That little toad was adorable, and how cool was that line of spiders! It's hard to choose, but I think the gray banded king is the prettiest!
20:06 "Follow the spiders? Why couldn't we have followed the butterflies!"
Because I'm incapable of not doing so-it was actually "why spiders? Why couldn't it be follow the butterflies". Sorry. I had to
The thick black banding on those two black-tailed’s is incredible, the way it’s tightly packed before spotting out lol 😂
Wow the second Black Tail Rattle Snake was so pretty!
I had to stop after .53 seconds and just say I love that the rattlesnake could tell you weren’t a true threat by it not rattling and how it just watched you as it slithered away in case and only rattled for a second when you got close with the camera just to let you know like hey that’s close buddy.
Noah your videos are great. I just realized why I like your style and demeanor. You sound kinda like Steve Irwin without the Aussie accent. You treat all the animals you encounter like small children, with care and respect.
Banded geckos are amazing. This one made a cute little sound. I kept them for a couple of years and they were just like miniature leopard geckos.
Always excited, enjoying my corncob and some beautiful snakes
In the mid 1980s I found a trans pecos a few miles north of Houston deep in the woods. Haven't seen one since. Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the spider parade. Never knew there was ever such a thing!
That alterna Frank found is GORGEOUS! 😍
The spiders are Aphonopelma spiderlings. I just discovered a similar line this evening in Southern CA.
By far,my fav rattlesnake is the Blacktailed.
Fabulous pattern.
I love when some have the black stripes across their eyes.
If I were ever gonna keep a hot,it would be the blacktailed
I really enjoyed this video. That kingsnake was amazing.
I have never been to a video to anybody's channel this early.
That was awesome! Heading to west Texas from Maryland in about 2 weeks. Hoping to find a few of the species you all turned up. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I am absolutely terrified of snakes, but I have been watching your videos and love how informative you are. I moved out to the country recently and having this knowledge keeps me from freaking out every time I see one. Had a black snake fall from the door of my shed right in front of me and didn't sh*t myself, so that was an improvement! Keep it up! Thanks!
Bruh how can you be *terrified* of something as cute as a snake?
Great video NKF. You're the best.
Those were baby tarantulas likely recently hatched and in the process of dispersing from their mothers burrow. I used to breed tarantulas before I got into keeping reptiles.
I think you should post some of your photos on reddit, r/snakes or r/herpetology. You make great videos and I’d love to see more activity there
Black tails are one of my bucket list snakes to keep and breed someday. By far my favorite crotalid
Love any and all herping videos! Good luck out there in AZ hope you find some Pyros!
I make da herping videos! Not as good as this guys but check em out if u want
prob best herping videos ever made bro. for real
Amazing as always
That neonate blacktail has shed just once, the natal shed which happens a week or so after birth, and reveals the button (refered to as a pre-button prior to that first shed).
Such an incredible neck patterning on that alterna!
Another Great Video
That black tail is lovely!
10:04 yo why did the snake look directly into my soul????
July?! You must have such a backlog of footage! I dont envy the ammount of editing you have to do 😂
2:53 best laugh ever uhsauhasuashsuahasuhas
WOW that king snake is awesome
Undoubtedly a family of Aphonopelma species tarantula babies, cool find!
Aphonopelma is the only genus of tarantula native to the States.
They’re all a dirty light brown or tan colour as a rule, but males that mature and go out looking for mates are distinguishable for their dark velvety legs. Often they don’t succeed in mating, many males get run over on the highways and become arachnid roadkill. 😬
That Black tail is awesome.
I love these videos
Hey Noah come down to weatherford Texas we have a bunch of rats ales corn snakes and a bunch of other snakes so if you wanna contact me dm at my Instagram @sacktheqb51
Desert herping looks so cool. I’ll have to try it sometime.
They are baby tarantula I'm pretty sure that behaviour has never been caught
was just about say same - definitely tarantulas.
look up the paper GROUP DISPERSAL IN JUVENILE BRACHYPELMA VAGANS
(ARANEAE, THERAPHOSIDAE) by Steven Reichling it documents this in a similar species.
@@Malhavocs thanx that's really helpful unusually on this platform 😂
I've seen this behavior in other videos but I'm not sure it was the same species. Very cool to see!
Adorable little things. Considering location and that black spot on their abdomens, most likely Aphonopelma hentzi (Texas brown tarantula).
WTF I never seen spiders that work in a colony like that. Crazy stuff
He is green he said he’s going get you before you get him hahaha
I can't help wondering when I see Black-tailed Rattlers and Diamondbacks and other rattlesnakes if the patterns on their backs didn't inspire some of the symbols native Americans use in their designs and artwork.Another great video.
Why did the wasp keep attacking (?) the baby rattlesnake? It seemed to keep landing on it's tail and following it around
So there are rock rattle snakes and black tipped rattle snakes in the same habitat? What about western diamondback? Be interesting to find out how the avoid competition if they do.
I like the colors of that first black tail rattler, it’s almost blue
Let me know when your are in North Carolina near ashville and I will come join you when you go herping.
why are all those snakes so chill
What is the best time of year for herping in west Texas? My husband and I really want to go sometime in the future. We keep colubrid snakes and would like to see them in the wild.
Wish I could go out 1 night with u guys or smetlogik or somebody that really knows how its done, I can find things road cruising (occasionally) but I feel like there r a lot of tips and tricks I'm not aware of when looking for snakes
Are you sure that blind snake wasn't a worm?...lol. That was a tiny snake. Looks like you had a great night there. Where was this location? King snake was amazing.
That alterna! 😲
love the rainbow
enjoyed your video as always
Tons of baby blacktails!
The only grey banded king I've ever seen was squished on the road in eastern central Texas. I was upset because it was a fresh kill. If I had just driven faster...
Looking forward to some non-TX videos again
I live in Hawaii and we don’t have snakes. If I saw a rattle snake I would freak out, you guys are really brave. Have you ever been bit?
Hey man, love the vids! I have a question, how many DOR snakes (which normally aren't shown) do you find in one night compared to live ones?? Cause there seems to be so many snakes chilling on the asphalt, I would like to know how many make it out alive...
Unfortunately, most nights we see just as many if not more snakes dead on the road.
@@NKFherping Sad to hear that. I had guessed that would be the case since it's the same here in Iberia. Less abundance though. Keep up the great vids!!
Love the video 👍🏻
I wonder if Texas has Alligator lizards and alligators in similar places.
I miss herping in Tx I want to move back asap!!
Question for you. I was recently down in Texas for a couple of months. I knew I would want to do a bit of helping but as a non-resident it was almost $50/week to get a licence and that included just to handle any animals! I went totally passive didn't touch anything. If you go as a group and let someone with a licence do the handling is it still necessary for everyone to have a licence? Seems a bit excessive.
3:13 I thought those were bugs buzzing, not the noodle. Such a pathetic and adorable noise
haha 20:21 they must have seen a basilisk
I miss seeing Trans Pecos ratsnakes. Love em for some reason!
its showing up good
That second snake the blacktail was in HD!!
I’ve never seen a spider “parade” before. At first I thought they were ants. Guess it’s time to hit up google and figure out what that behavior is! Hopefully I can turn something up.
They are baby tarantulas of the genus Aphonopelma and this the normal way for them to leave the nest.
richard maurer awesome! Thanks for the tip!
I'm guessing this is in Val Verde......possibly 277 or maybe Juno....not Langtry.
I liked the mock rott rattlesnake
Do y'all keep the grey banded, or let them go??
I’m guessing let them go. Wild-caught snakes are often illegal to keep, come with parasites and diseases that cost several hundred dollars to get treated at a vet, and then they often die from the stress of transitioning to living in a box in a human house after having started in the wild. Definitely buy captive-bred animals if you’re looking for a legal pet that won’t cost you a fortune and then die on you!
snake#1 didn't sound like one of your alternas (I'm sure i didn't spell it correctly)
There's a 1970's William Shatner movie I think it was Tarantula it was just a little unrealistic but I'd watch it again check it out
Wow you live is Texas!?
Is it very hot there. I’m guessing it is
He lives in GA
That’s nice
Kinda early squaddd
Try to find a side winder
I was under the assumption that night snakes were mildly venomous.
@NKFherping Have you ever kept any that you've found ? I would've kept that orange and grey for sure ! It woulda been in my collection
So what exactly is a "night snake"?
Have you ever found a coastal rosey boa?
I have 1. Mine was born in captivity though. She's pretty large for a rosy boa.
I had no idea they could move backwards and aim at you.
Btw those spiders are baby tarantulas and probably just got off their mothers back, meaning you missed an opportunity to see a female tarantula
What is your nub I love your videos
I caught a decays brown snake today
Pardon me, but what’s a “LEP”?
You made several references to catching LEPs, but I just don’t know what it means. Little help!
Crotalus lepidus
Is that Timber rattlesnake
Is a Hooknose same as a hognose?
Different species, hognose stretches it's mouth wide anx flattens its neck almost like a cobra does.
Those were baby tarantulas
What a fine spot to get bite by rattler. Get out of car to pee and bam
How do you tell a male or female snake
What do you mean by an “open” cut?
A cut that doesn’t already have people hunting it.
NKFherping oh okay, thank for clarifying
NKFherping I have a Question what does nc2 mean if I Spelled that right
@@elsreptilesandmore1686 It's a basic question so I'll help out. The term is "in situ", meaning, "in situation" or "as found" in this context. A common and useful term in field biology.
I love snakes but them spiders creeeep me out.
Im here yes i catch lizard but i really want to catch a snake
looking for snakes in sandals????
im sure you've been asked this 1000 times, but have you ever been bit?
IO know you are just looking but arn't some of those good eatens??
That rat is cool BUT THE SPIDERS ARE GROSS 🤢
