    Copperhead frat party + interspecies love affair (racer + rat snake 🤣🤣). Awesome to see those beautiful canebrakes. So different than what we find in So Cal: we have western diamonds, cal kings, read racers, striped racers, gopher snakes, 2 striped garter snakes, etc…🐍🐍

    Really cool finds and plenty of them. Very nice greenish ratsnakes, I don’t remember them other times. And also very good strong timber rattlesnake, especially the first. The second didn’t have the best lighting, but probably it would look more impressive in the day.

    Great outing Noah. I really miss finding the Carolina “canebrakes” and “greenish rat snakes”. We would sometimes come across these rat snakes with a slate gray background and brown stripes. Incredibly beautiful.

    It’s possible the GoPro may have overheated, but you did say it was cold out so probably not. They go through batteries STUPIDLY fast, so perhaps it died faster than you expected? I have a hero 8 and hero 9 and yeah they’re not super dependable. Sometimes they just go into fits and refuse to turn on lol.

    • @NKFherping
      @NKFherping  3 года назад +1

      That’s actually the one good thing I can say about the Hero 10, batteries seem to be more efficient.
      Seems like it just got hung up and froze, I had the same issue semi-regularly with the 8. Usually when I’m starting or ending a longer video clip. Disappointed to see it hasn’t been fixed.

    • @jpshawcross
      @jpshawcross 3 года назад

      @@NKFherping I think GoPro used the cheapest processor they could get away with in these cameras, the OS is pretty laggy and they bug out often 🙄 Good that the battery life is better though!

      Prime real estate. Late in the Fall and early in the Spring it isn’t uncommon to see multiple snakes sharing the best pieces that have the perfect combination of heat, humidity, and proximity to underground access.

    Rats and racers can coexsist? Obviously, but niether are snake eaters ? Had the other been of appropriate size?

    • @NKFherping
      @NKFherping  3 года назад +2

      Racers actually are snake eaters and will ready feed on smaller snakes. However, since they aren’t powerful constrictors and rely on size and speed to chase down and overpower prey, they could only eat much smaller snakes than themselves. Even Kingsnakes will coexist with other snakes of equal or greater size than themselves.
