Constant exposure to more English is essential when learning the language. It's important to watch or listen to the English news bulletin. Here in Sri Lanka the news is presented in simple English and is easy to understand. But when watching international news channels like BBC, CNN, ABC, DW, Sky News, we may find it a bit difficult to understand due to accent variations and the speed. This difficulty can be overcome by watching or listening to them on a regular basis. I've been doing so for a long time and for me, understanding the news or relevant programmes has become much easier. At the beginning, I understood nothing but by exposing myself more to the language I'm now in a position to understand everything that is said in them. Listening to BBC outlook and documentary podcasts is one of my daily habits. BBC podcasts are the best of all and are of high quality. I listen to these amazing podcasts almost daily through BBC News App. I start my day by reading at least one or two news articles on BBC website. This is in addition to reading all Sri Lankan English newspapers online. Also, I'd like DW and Aljazeera news channels and watch them on RUclips. They're great resources that help us improve our English. When you keep watching or listening to them regularly you'll be able to understand English without any difficulty. Watching English films and TV shows is also important..
