Randy I've listened to most if not all of your tutorials and RUclips videos about Rockabilly, Scotty Moore, Johnny Cash and Luther Perkins and this one about Cliff, his style and famous sound and licks! Always absolutely spot on! Thanks for your contribution to these famous names!
For the first lick, it is helpful (at least for me) to practice it in a higher key such as A. The reason being, I have a natural tendency to use the open notes when I'm playing it in G. Practicing in another key assures that I'll be ready to play it in any key without relying on open notes.
Randy if you want to hear some awesome guitar leads of cliff Gallup before all of this check Willie Phelps DJ's jamboree and the song Yes siree they both featuring Cliff Gallup on the guitar, Willie Phelps was my grandfather and Cliff Gallup play guitar in his band
I have had a while of not playing for a few days, playing this makes me think like, oh boy, I'm not slinky loosefingers today hehe. Thank you for the upload, I'll play this one a few times more, lets see how this is going :) Have a good weekend
Thank you Randy for helping me to improve my playing in 2019. I appreciate it very much! Just like all the rest, this lesson is awesome! Happy New Year Randy!
Happy New Year Randy! I have a request for a Rockabilly Special! I think it would have been cool if you did a Johnny Burnette, Paul Burlison/Grady Martin Special. Grady Martin and Paul Burlison had some amazing soloes and licks, and i think people would have liked it! (BTW! Thank you for liking my Scotty Moore video on Facebook) Cheers!🇧🇻
Hello Ritchie, thank you I just love your video. However why don’t you put the tabs with your explanation ? English is not my first Language (we have something in common ! lol !) and that would be more simple to figure out. It’s just a suggestion. Take Care ! Kareen
Good lesson,-But,-first solo in 'Hold me Hug me Rock me,' Cliff is pulling off on the F sharp[first string-2nd fret] & C sharp[second string-2nd fret] Its not the same as 'Cruising' solos.
Hi Dean, was the question directed at me? I've never said Gene Vincent was a rockabilly singer. In fact in the video I say the records offer a great variety ranging from rockabilly to even jazz standards.

Hi,how lucky am I.I have the originals and you know what?all dedicated by Gene himself.Done when he toured in 1963 in France
Wow, just wow. "Whatever sounds cool is right!" YES! Thank you for this lesson.
Nice lesson! Cliff was one of the early rock & roll guitar greats, between them Cliff and Scotty Moore influenced millions of guitarists worldwide.

The 2 best albums of Gene Vincent with the best guitarist he had!!
Wonderful Randy thanks ! really inventive parts , he must have been killing himself laughing when he wrote ''cruising'' !

Excellent instruction...very clear!
You do a GREAT Job! Clear and Comfortable presentations. And Cliff was amazing - too bad he had a fairly short music career. Thanks!

Happy New Year Randy! Hope we can catch up in 2020. Many thanks for all your great work!
Thank you Colin! I'm wishing you a Happy and successful New Year as well, and that everything will sort itself out even outside of the EU ;-)
@@ducktailcat thanks yes it's going to be an interesting journey for sure! :-)
Dig it, I have those Albums as well, repro’s , not originals.🎸😎
Yes, mine are repros too. I love them both
Absolute kudos. This is the way a lead guitarist should conduct a solo or two, or three under three minutes.
Thank you for your kind feedback, Brent
I know, what a bore was Jim page on and on and on.

Unfortunately Paul Burlison was a terrible guitar player. Grady Martin played all his stuff.
My grandfather Willie Phelps had a recording studio with Scotty Moore called fernwood studios
I have a few Fernwood records at home. I love the Memphis sound!
Great stuff!
GOLD!!!
Like #180. You deserve each and every one of those "youtube likes".
Thank you Steve!!
Спасибо за канал дорогой друг! Всего хорошего в новом году!
