New Music, Navigating Challenges as an Indie Artist, and Loving on My Dog | Life Between the Lyrics

Welcome to Life Between the Lyrics | Episode 1 🖤
Hi! I'm Samantha Leah and this is the first episode of my new vlog series, Life Between the Lyrics. As a songwriter/recording artist, most people know me for my music, but in this series, I'll be sharing more of my personal life, creative process, and behind-the-scenes moments that shape my journey as an artist. 🥰
Each episode will be different. Sometimes, I'll just be doing my makeup and chatting; other times, I will be showing a more active/busy day (for instance, days where I have video shoots). As of now, I'm a completely independent artist, so I do mostly everything on my own. I write my own lyrics, record from home, come up with music video treatments, find studios to shoot visuals at, and more. Since I fund my own projects, I am always working with a budget as creatively as I possibly can, so I hope to provide some insight into those sorts of things.
I've been wanting to vlog for a long, long time so that I could show more personal parts of my life. I just felt a lot of energetic blockages because I'm a pretty private person and I keep a lot of things to myself. On top of that, I do so much on my phone that I had a lot of resistance with using it to shoot vlogs, as well. I'm always doing so much stuff on my phone that I feel like it's overheating more often than not. 😂
So... I finally decided to buy a camera. It's nothing crazy. No cool lenses or extra complexities. I felt that-with a camera-I'd be more motivated to start this vlog. And, so far, I think I was right! I've been shooting a lot of content and it feels new and exciting for me. I'm definitely tapping into the "new year, new me" vibes. 😜 (it's currently December 2024 as I type this).
I'm putting together these vlogs on my own, so bear with me! Some things will probably change throughout time. Maybe one day, I'll even be able to afford someone to edit them for me... DUN DUN. 😏
Anyways, I'm glad you're here, and it's my sincerest intention to connect with you on a deeper level and show the real me. ♡

In this particular episode, my day consists of a quick piano practice, talking a little bit about upcoming music, and coming home to play with my dog of course. hehe
