    Hey love the video, just wondering if it’s common to volunteer in new places with the people you meet or whether people tend to move on solo?

    • @SunnyBondevik
      @SunnyBondevik  8 месяцев назад

      Hey!
      It’s normal to move on solo work wise. Although a lot of people do go travelling together afterwards 😁

    Not sure if you’re still reading comments but I’m turning 18 soon and the only thing I want to do with my life is travel the world. I understand that’s not necessarily realistic, but I’d like to try a little. I have no issues with meeting new people and doing new things and I want to see the world and meet new people. Do you think it’s a realistic idea to just go for it and see what happens? Maybe take a gap year a try it out, maybe a couple trips? I feel like I’d regret it so much if I didn’t but I still need to make money somehow lol

    • @SunnyBondevik
      @SunnyBondevik  7 месяцев назад +5

      Hey!
      I took 4 gap years, worked my ass off and travel around the world. I have no regrets. I have seen, learned and experienced so much. A life I could never be without. On the other hand, you should absolutely save up some money. You need it and you have to have some money for emergency or in case you suddenly need to go back home.
      I just went for it when I was 19, but i always had a job lined up somewhere in the world.
      You can work in hostels, do work away or get a small online job.
      But other then that, go travel and live life. It’s so worth it. A month, 5 months, a year or forever.. ☀️☀️
      Hope that helps !

      @@SunnyBondevik thank you for responding!! So you did end up doing college at some point? What are some other places you’ve traveled and worked in? I really want to go to Japan to work for worldpackers at some point but I was thinking I should start somewhere in Europe or south/central America as I have a grasp on those languages better than something like Japanese. Do they generally require like hospitality experience or like bartending experience? I have a surprisingly well paying job teaching swim lessons where I live that I figure I can always fall back on for a little while and work a lot to build up money. I have so many questions I’d love to ask you about this if that’s ok!!

      I’m in college now but I had a gap year for 4 years. I have worked all over the world but if you are from Europe I would recommend starting there. Safer, easier and cheaper.
      You don’t need any experience usually (it depends on the job you wanna do). It’s more about you vibe and energy 😁
      Wish you the best of luck!

    I'm graduating highschool in may this year and I just discovered this. I haven't looked into it a ton so I'm wondering if I need to have some money saved to do this? I don't know much about how it works

    • @SunnyBondevik
      @SunnyBondevik  6 месяцев назад

      Hey! I would definitely recommend having some money saved. Usually you work for a few hours and get food and free stay in exchange. But if you wanna see and explore the area you would need money. Nevertheless, it’s always good to have extra saved up cause you never know.

    So...I have a question? I just learned about this yesterday. MY situation is different to a LARGE extent. First, I'm older... like, 58. And I have a dog. I'm single, selling my house, thinking of moving from US to ?? Portugal, Italy? This looks like a good testing zone to explore a country, it's customs, the area, language barriers, etc. BEFORE I take that final step! The benefits (I feel) that apply to ME? I'd that I am older, so with that- maturity. Although I'm down to play some beer pong, lol...I'm not going to be 22 and hanging out at the bar. I'm hitting the sack at 9pm. #2- Experience. I have a LOT! 14 years Army Veteran, former operating room tech, cowboy, carpenter-woodworker-retail- computer coding- umm..been to 8 countries, traveled all U.S. but 5 states, dog trainer, professional musician, 2 degrees, business owner, Landscape Architect...like I said, a LOT. Soooo at 58, I can, and DO! Climb trees and fell them with chainsaws, axes, run heavy equipment, re-roof my house, shovel snow, work on engines...
    Yesterday, I replaced my radiator, and today? Re-wiring my electric for my stove in my house.
    Can I tend horses? Yup! Work a farm? Yup....So there's the PROS!
    The CONS? AGE. I see that the majority of people are 23-36?
    Have you run into any OLDER folks doing this? If so? Tell me what we're your impressions? We're the hosts accommodating to these workers? We're the younger not as open? I'm curious...
    If I went to work at a place..my "old school" work ethic is that I am there to fulfill my obligations...as well as to enjoy myself.
    So, yeah..fill me in? Thanks! 😊

    • @SunnyBondevik
      @SunnyBondevik  Год назад +5

      Hey James!!
      Thanks for the comment😁
      First of all, great question. When it comes to age it all comes down to your attitude and vibes. My boss at the hostel I worked at was 45++ and he was awesome!! In my experience age gap doesn’t really matter, I’ve worked and traveled with ppl way older then me and loved it. Sounds like you have a lot of experience in everything which is a huge plus. You can help out so many people and also teach them the many things you know.
      Just go for it. Try it. And see. It might be a match it might not but again in all depends on your attitude 😁
      Remember, people from all backgrounds and ages travel. There is no age limit ;)

    • @lowellirish
      @lowellirish Год назад

      @Sunny Bondevik yup...no age limit as far as "I'm" concerned! lol... thanks much!

    So overall do you only really pay for the plane ticket? Not to be nosey but how much did the whole thing cost if you don’t mind to tell?

    • @SunnyBondevik
      @SunnyBondevik  Год назад +2

      Hey Jeremiah!
      You have to pay for the plane ticket, a fee to the agency you use, visa and transport to get there (train, bus ect) so it’s does coast but usually the pay for the camp covers it and a bit more. However, this is nothing you do to earn heaps it’s more for the experience 😄
      Hope they helps!
