I love the concept and am really considering it, but not making money is concerning to me. I don’t have passive income, so going somewhere for sometime spending money but never making it scares me
@@smd5980 great answer but you have to get plenty of views and comments before you can’t start earning money off those platforms. If you’re just starting, you won’t be able to get money anytime soon
I legit just downloaded and signed up for WorldPackers yesterday. I applied and got accepted for a party hostel volunteer opportunity for 6 weeks in Cancun Mexico
Is there any place away from worldly affairs where there is an atmosphere of peace, where there are mountains, greenery all around, flowing waterfalls, where the heart gets peace, where introspection can be done, where there is solitude, where one can do yoga, where one can experience heaven, where one can work as a volunteer? You can stay for as many days as you want, where you can live without money, where you can stay away from depression. If there is such a place, then I want to go there for some time or for the whole life. I want to stay away from the noise of the world. Is there anyone there? such a place
first of all, loved the video and you seem to be such a fun person to be around, wish i couldve volunteered with you XD my question is, do you suggest getting a premium membership early and talk to hosts like months before you want to travel or is it possible to volunteer last minute?
aw thank you, that’s so sweet!! i would suggest a good balance between the two - two weeks to a month’s time in advance. because sometimes, the situation of the host is also unpredictable and they might end up cancelling or vise versa. if you want to go on a spontaneous trip then, there are definitely hosts that are open to volunteers to start asap as well!
i've always wanted to do this but everyone is so skeptical, telling me it's unsafe, did you get this from family members to and how can you make them more at ease?
So i cant tell, if you want to travel specifically to work and tour, can you worldpacker to an employer and make a decent wage or do you have to have money laying around
does anyone know anything like this but for younger people? I really wanted to do the world packers experience but I just recently realized that you have to be atleast 18 to apply :/ I’m currently 16 and in my last year of highschool. I will turn 17 during my travels though
Hi thanks for the video i have a question, how long before the travel should i apply? Is it for example possible that i apply one month before and still get an answer? or is it too late?
yes and no. they do a background check on all the hosts before putting them on the platform to ensure you’re not getting into shady places, but whatever happens to you within the country is not really up to them
hey, i‘m from germany and want to travel around europe just like you did. But i’m scared that I won‘t get answers on my applications or there are too many other competitors, so I pay the 49$ without getting a job… Is this really a big deal or a problem with worldpackers?
I had the same concern and I ended up paying: two days later I had my trip secured. It’s all about not getting stuck on a specific host you really like, write to a lot of them that seem cool and you’ll find one for sure!
i liked the experience in Serbia a lot mostly because the people i was volunteering with all shared the same sense of humor with me, and i loved Belgrade’s bars and coffee shops. Tirana’s experience for me was slightly more dull but that’s also because I didn’t do a lot of exploring during the weekends and the people I volunteered with didn’t all speak English
Hi dear friend I recently got acquainted with this program The only cost that is necessary is to pay an amount for the reservation at the beginning of the work, right? Does it cost anything anymore?
id suggest to have at least a good amount of money with you before you apply for a position. now that amount can change depending on which city/ country you’re headed to
they do not, because it is an volunteering program after all. however, you can have a look at “workaway” which has a similar concept but you can also earn!!
Sometimes I wonder if people who do this have no job and/or a lot of time and money. I'd love to try it myself, and I do have a remote job (within the US only I think). When you work at these places, do you have that 9-5 time slot open to work on your stuff and do stuff for them after? Then again, that concept leaves one with no time for a personal life and be able to enjoy the area. But on the pro-side, they take care of your housing. It almost sounds like volunteer slavery for a place to stay, lol.
I signed up with worldpackers and got a 1 month volunteer job at a party hostel in Cancun Mexico. My job description is “Tour Guide/ Party Planner” that doesnt sound like slavery to me, sounds like fun
I signed up yesterday and got the job today, im shocked at how fast i got a volunteer opportunity and how cool of a destination i got accepted for. It was super high demand
Sorry I got intertested in this topic and I searched for reviews and she literally said I VOLUNTEERED IN BALKANS, which is where I am from hahhahahahahha
For free? But worldpackers charge fees for the membership is not free. And the worst part is must to work for the host for free. The volunteering is not vacations
yeah that’s the point of volunteering. the literal meaning translates to you putting out your work without expecting things in return, the hosts are just nice that they provide accommodation to help you out

i have a question, how long before the travel should i apply? Is it for example possible that i apply one month before and still get an answer? or is it too late?
yes, one month is just fine! usually 1.5 - 2 months is ideal, and sometimes host might also change your arrival time to their requirement too
Is it a reliable platform? Do they look after your safety and security in a foreign country?
yes and no. they do a background check on all the hosts before putting them on the platform to ensure you’re not getting into shady places, but whatever happens to you within the country is not really up to them

you have to pay the membership fee, and obviously all your own travel expenses. depending on the host, you’ll need some money for your food as well
how much money did you have saved up before volunteering?
id suggest to have at least a good amount of money with you before you apply for a position. now that amount can change depending on which city/ country you’re headed to
