Actively using through the winter and summer condition, performing like charm.

I just pulled the trigger on a Lynx CM111-P Knife, Black Micarta Handle W/black leather Fire Starter Sheath . I"ve been wanting this knife for a couple of yrs now. It's almost a piece of art, for a knife guy and at a great price, compared to others W/same fit and Finish.

  • @PileofBrass

I just received my Joker Lynx in Bohler N695 and black/green micarta with red liners. Upon inspection I have to say, this thing is flawless. The tip is like a needle. The grinds are absolutely symmetrical to the eye and the thing is hair shaving sharp. The scales are matt finish and not slick; actually more of a satin finish and grippy. The jimping on the spine and butt are consistent and without burr. Blade engraving is fine, even, crisp and without blur. Zero gaps between the scales, liners and steel. I can't believe Joker is making this kind of quality for such a reasonable price. WOW.
ETA: The kydex sheath is very well made and the fire steel matches the knife micarta.

Your retraction on the "needs thumb-scalloping on the handle" idea is sound for another reason too. If it HAD said features, (like a Benchmade Bushcrafter 162, say) it would have a far more difficult time in securely coupling with the Kydex sheath, IMO. I have the Lynx/Kydex combo in both orange and black and think Jose did a great job designing them!

Very informative, great cadence of speech, engaging, and most pleasant to watch. I am a new fan of your channel (now subscribed)! I don't have the Montenaro but would love to own one. It has a lot going for it. Ilike the full flat grind and blade profile. The handle has a simple old-school look to it. Great overview and demonstrations of a really nice looking knife there Mark. As for Canadians and our units of measure, man oh man. We measure the heat in our house in Fahrenheit but when deciding what to wear outdoors it's Celsius. all of our tape measures are in feet and inches but we measure our golf shots in yards. Wondering about altitude, well that's meters of course. I could go on and on haha, we are truly amazing when it comes to how we measure stuff. Thank you Mark!

Another excellent review, Mark. I have had the Lynx for the best part of a year now. A fine slicer and cutter, capable of a lot of tasks. Good for campers and probably for hunters, too. Yet it fails when it comes to woodcrafting which, imo is, along with the grind, due to the curved overall shape which distributes the energy applied to it in an odd and uncomfortable manner when whittling. For "pure" bushcraft, I would prefer the Ember or the Bushlore among the Joker knives.
