i started following you right before you went into recovery and then basically started to recover myself, can't believe it's already over two years, you really helped me so much back then and still learning from your videos
Just wanted to come on here and say a massive thank you. I've dealt with an eating disorder for several years and started recovery last summer, but things have been getting kinda rough lately. I literally found your youtube last week (I used to follow your instagram but don't really use social media now) and your content has already made such a difference. I even got myself a therapist and introduced my mum to your podcasts--she's hooked too. Please never stop being your amazing self!
Had a real struggle these past two days but watching your videos always lifts me up 😢thanks Anna x Also I really loved the event on Saturday and hope to see you soon, always providing us with such a safe space 😊
have been here thoughout you whole recovery, as well as my own! its so magical seeing how far we have both come. i have recently started running more, doing more yoga and aerial silks! it is really hard, but im working on it and it really is a passion!
im currently training for my mental health- exam season is rough so im trying to take the pressure off of physical goals and just do what makes me feel good :) loving this vid, you truly are such an angel!! hope youre doing well, sending love xx
Good luck on your half marathon this weekend!!! You're gonna crush it! I'm running my first half marathon Saturday, May 20th in Brooklyn, NYC, so channeling your energy and vibes for finishing it!
Really needed this today! Just couldn’t push through my run today and cut it short and didn’t feel the best but this really helped seeing the bts of your runs & the fact you listen to your body! x
Anna, your video came at such AWESOME timing!!! I'll be running my first half marathon this summer, so excited! Never thought would be able to do this... recovery is worth it! Thank you for sharing your beautiful authentic self with us :)
im literally looking forward to watching one of your videos while doing my wind down routine, you’re truly a safe place for me tysm for everything you do
Hey Anna ! I don't know if you follow Natacha Oceane but on her ultra endurance challenges, she drinks a similar drink to the one you tried : maple syrup, lime, salt and water 😊 So I guess it's a legitimate drink for your electrolytes haha
also a reminder to not feel pressured to do running if you don't like it just because its a big trend at the moment people being in their running eras which is great, but I am someone who doesn't enjoy running and it usually makes me feel sick and not that great in general so I just do 5km a week and I get my cardio in other ways I enjoy more
No one has to run, but personally I used to hate running. Turns out it was only because I was pushing too hard. If it makes you feel sick or you don’t recover fast, you are likely doing too much too. I started enjoying it through couch to 5k. Once I understood I had to start from ridiculously short intervals and to slow down when running, I started to enjoy it and also to get better at it. Running isn't just about going as hard as you can as long as you can. It’s about concistency. And it can be surprisingly enjoyable to a lot of people who didn't expect to like it. So if someone who hates running wants to try anyway, I recommend slowing down while running and starting with small goals, like running for one minute and walking before and after. Something small enough that it doesn't hurt, that you recover from quickly, that's easily achievable for you, that doesn't make you discouraged and that you could do e.g. three times a week.
Thanks for this. I used to run 5km and do the 100m sprint in high school, I’m pretty fit but for some reason I don’t go hard like you say I usually just do a 5km but it feels hard and I usually feel nauseous and I wouldn’t say I’m pushing fast. I probably just need to do it more often but after losing a lot of weight I had to prioritise weight training to put on some muscle so probably lost some of my cardiovascular fitness then. Anyway thanks for your comment maybe I’ll try some running and walking to build up my dm cardio firness
What app or training program are you using to train for the half? It seems like it has really good structured workouts :) Also you are doing such an awesome job! Good luck for your half marathon, you will totally crush it!
Watching you have a runners high gives me hope for my running journey!!! Set to run a 10k at the end of June and a half marathon by the end of the year! Have never ran before… took my first week of training way too hard (grew up as an athlete just not a runner so I have that go hard or go home mentality 🫣) and hurt myself so getting back into it again after 3 weeks slowly!!!
