For those who need clarification on why Nigerians are not present in this video, it captures the activities of celebrating Nigeria's independence in Mackinaw Island, Michigan, USA! Nigerians were more than a thousand miles away, receiving their independence on Nigerian soil that fateful Saturday, October 1, 1960. 😃

I guess it's more of an emotional attachment and nostalgia than about "deep meaning". Those who grew up in the era that this anthem was sung will shed tears mainly because it reminds them of their version of "good old days". I am sure that if the other anthem was brought up many years from now, those who grew up singing it will also shed tears because it may have served as a soundtrack for a large portion of their lives. I wouldn't be surprised if this is more from nostalgia than patriotism.
