I've watched all of them and i must admit it's really nice selection but Malawi's national anthem should have been there because its rhythm and arrangement of lyrics is very nice and touching

I admire how the South African Anthem was actually a prayer for the whole of the continent. As someone who understands the Xhosa/Zulu language which have been interchangeable used on the first Stanza. Nkosi Siskelel Africa - Lord Bless Africa. Maluphakinyis uphondo lwayo - Restore Her pride and Dignity (this line is actually metaphorical, a direct translation would miss the message. It would be "Let her horn be raised") Nkosi sikelelela thina lusapho lwayo - God bless us, her generation.
It will always be my favorite anthem. Infact if ever Africa unites, I'd wish for it to be the continent's anthem. It sums up everything about the continent.

South African anthem was copied from the anthem of Africa. They only changed Africa in the song to south Africa. Ask your parents, they will tell you Nkrumah made all kids in schools to learn that anthem as it was going to be the anthem of United African States.

American here. My personal favorite African anthem is Sierra Leone (High We Exalt Thee, Realm of the Free). Like others on the continent, it was written as part of a nationwide competition (John Akar, music and Clifford Nelson Fyle, lyrics). The version that gets passed around the most here on RUclips is a fairly old recording which adds to the charm, and there are no bells or whistles, just a nice melody and simple but effective harmonies. In general I think Africa's anthems are terribly underrated and there are a lot of very nice pieces, many of which were mentioned in the video.
I remember N’kosi Sikelelei Africa used to be sung at protests against Apartheid, so it is special that it went on to be South Africa’s national anthem. It’s beautiful that it is in 5 different languages and the first few times hearing it, it brought tears to my eyes. I’m from the Seychelles and I love our anthem which tells of the beauty of our islands and the need to live in harmony, but I can sing both the South African and Nigerian anthems.

I admire how the South African Anthem was actually a prayer for the whole of the continent. As someone who understands the Xhosa/Zulu language which have been interchangeable used on the first Stanza.

American here. My personal favorite African anthem is Sierra Leone (High We Exalt Thee, Realm of the Free). Like others on the continent, it was written as part of a nationwide competition (John Akar, music and Clifford Nelson Fyle, lyrics). The version that gets passed around the most here on RUclips is a fairly old recording which adds to the charm, and there are no bells or whistles, just a nice melody and simple but effective harmonies.
In general I think Africa's anthems are terribly underrated and there are a lot of very nice pieces, many of which were mentioned in the video.

I remember N’kosi Sikelelei Africa used to be sung at protests against Apartheid, so it is special that it went on to be South Africa’s national anthem. It’s beautiful that it is in 5 different languages and the first few times hearing it, it brought tears to my eyes. I’m from the Seychelles and I love our anthem which tells of the beauty of our islands and the need to live in harmony, but I can sing both the South African and Nigerian anthems.
