I always buy the monthly pass. If I love the game then I'll support it. I'm not a whale by any means but having extra jades lying around means I can go for lightcones or eidolons.
Sacrificing enjoyability for meta or preserving is straight up stupidity instead of will power(And yes I know there are some exceptions, but lets be true most of us do play for characters design, their vibe, story etc.)

@@sandaletenjoyment is subjective, I know multiple people who have 50k+ jades spent f2p/express pass user If it starts becoming a matter of willpower to save then you're going to fail at saving, rage pull, and just quit from frustration. The key to saving is to understand that meta is fleeting, characters always rerun, and HSR is a gacha game that time-gates you. It's crazy how saving suddenly turns into a daily occurence similar to brushing your teeth. It just is, it's not tied to enjoyment or anything, you just know it'll pay off in the end.
@@Stanky_Foot It is indeed subjective, but as I said most of the people are here just for characters(full MOC clearance rate is around 5%(might be wrong but its close to true) of all player base). I myself the am a saver because I rlly dont care about design and finding enjoyment in team building most of the time with sparkle being the sole exception cuz her personality is nuts
I think this is only applicable (savings to that amount of tickets) if you are veteran/have already competent and versatile roster. Like for me, I started late March. I pulled atleast 1 5* limited character in each patch but they should be compliment my current team and what I'm currently lacking; pulled Sparkle because I know that in this kind of game, supports are the most important. Then pull for a DPS like Acheron and sustain Aventurine, got lucky with Jingliu using only 3 tickets. I have free Ratio so I need another support (Robin) and another sustain like Fuxuan. Save a little bit for Ruan Mei. Lastly, pulled for Feixiao because I really like her. After that, I have a decent lineup. I can do Acheron team, FUA, Super Break and a Hypercarry team. I can also tackle end-game content and I 3* all of them after 5months playing the game (last August) which I'm proud of. Fortunately, my standard characters are also great; Bronya, Himeko and Clara. Now, I have the luxury to keep my tickets and skip characters. Great feeling not to feel FOMO or frustrated because I can't clear end game content. I'm done with that. Happy that I have now the liberty to pull whoever I want. For newbies, I suggest don't neglect your 4* (Herta, Hunt March 7th, Gallagher, HMC, Pela) they're really good if you built them properly.
Actually, there is not really any "fomo" in HSR if you are patient enough and know that banners/characters will coem back sooner or later. And this video is kinda a big bad advice in total, because he basically promotes to only get enough for 2 teams and maybe to upgrade them later, when for most paths you will need different variations for the elements with your DPS (exceptions are DoT teams, Acheron and Feixiao, of course).
Gotcha is like going to Vegas. Well at least how I feel about it. Go in expecting to loose, but your paying for a bit of entertainment value, like most things. My PS5 says I have 1,200 hours in Star Rail. Personally I have no problem spending the $5 for daily jade or $15 for the battle pass. The pouches though are just rediculas.
I only have one dolphin account and so far I have: • DHIL, Jingliu, Black Swan, Firefly, & Acheron for limited 5* main DPS. • For limited 5* support I have Silverwolf, Ruan Mei, and Robin. • My limited 5* sustain are Aventurine & HuoHuo. Now I'm planning to add Topaz to complete my FuA team + investing in Summon meta while DoT can wait. Also saving for Sunday, Tingyun, and Herta if they ever come out cuz I know whenever Hoyo release them, they are gonna be broken.
Cool video! The only thing I care about is full clearing end game content so I’m more likely to pull new characters to keep up with powercreep. The only archetype I really like is fua, so maybe I’m a little biased there
So i've started playing this game around December (at the time of Kafka's re-run) fully F2P and recently i've been tilted a lot regarding the progress of my account. I've got a total of 4 relic upgrades across my 2 teams in the last 6 months or so of relic farming and it just felt like i wasn't making any progress. I can't build new characters, i can't get relic stats that i want, etc, etc. So Robin's re-run comes, and i go to pull her (need for follow up team) and in the end i got my E6 Welt. That made me just alt+f4 the game. To give some context: i don't have ANY standard 5 star except Welt, BUT an E6 S2 Welt (he was also the 5 star from my beginner banner). I simply rage quit. After talking to a friend i took his advice of just making a new acc and play the game with the knowledge i have now. The sad part is, this new account is at TL 51 in about 9 days of playing, has 2 functional teams, has almost a 100 pulls saved, and characters i can swap in both teams for elemental coverage. And most importantly - it doesn't have AN E6 WELT. So friends, moral of the story - never forget that this is a gacha game and you will ALWAYS need some luck no matter how many pulls you have. And i can safely say that everything this man said is 100% correct if you wanna start playing, specially as F2P. I peace out and good luck to everyone.
I like to use the characters I have. So I did not pull for Jiaoqiu cause I like using Guinaifen I did not pull for Yunli cause I have Clara, so to me makes no sense pulling for Yunli And so on Basically I don't like upgrades in general. Same for Lingsha, also, I already have Gallagher. So pulling for a character should open the possibility of new team, like Topaz in the past, or Ruan Mei, or Kafka, or some main dps etc I think it is more fun this way
No strategy, rn trying everything I have currently to get robin for my FuA and topaz LC, then saving, thx god there's nothing interesting for me in 2.6 so I will be able to save for my Sunday 😍 (almost confirmed he is finally coming in 2.7 😊) I hope we will get version 2.8 too so I can save then too, it is said by leakers we are at the sunrise of the summon play style and I want to invest in it, turned out I am fan of this kind of "undirect" DMG play style (in the lines of dot, FuA and the upcoming summon) rather then raw DMG of a hyper carry, it is fun to play around this 😊 However I think I can't count myself as f2p anymore, I have the month pass regularly and once I got the battle pass but it is just 10 or so more pulls so surely I meet the same issues as complete f2ps

True 😂 Like, you need at least one meta character which you can easily use a F2P team of. I pulled Feixiao because I liked her and I have Robin, not to mention I didn't pull Acheron nor FF. Bro could've easily pulled a FF as he has Ruan Mei. In gacha games, adepting also plays a large part. I also like IL and hypercarry, but I know he needs eidolons to be at the same level as the new meta.

I'm definitely at whale territory, but think I'm gonna start cutting back my spending just because my account is so good that I really don't need to do anything right now. I think in general the only advice I might give, is you should always try to pick up the limited Harmony characters. Even if you don't play FuA, Robin's value is insanely good, even better than Ruan Mei for long-term players. Other than that, I think this is an excellent video.
Honestly not pulling in Honkai taught me to save irl too lamo. My jades savings grow along with my actual money. I honestly dont understand why people feel like they have to pull everytime but maybe because they never committed to actually building their characters properly and dont understand that even the new sparkly shiny new character is gonna be complete ass with their cope gear
@@MartinoRosso here's my take: For a new player, you need someone to carry your roster "a sparkly shiny new character (DSP)". And it's exciting and enjoyable to have that unga bunga damage to hook you in the game. Then build around that. For veterans, maybe they want to play into a certain play style or they love the character so much (story, design, personality, etc). Playing character that you love makes the game more fun. What HSR doing is they simultaneously release/rerun characters that compliment around that "a sparkly shiny new character (DSP)". For example, you really like Firefly, so you want to build around her, and they rerun Ruan Mei alongside with her. Same for Feixiao and Robin. That's why I think a lot of players pull left and right. Actually, for newbies it's good. Because now they are in the archetype/game style immediately. They will now pull based on that team to make improvements. And when the game slow down, they can now save.
I started playing in the second part of 2.4. I got enough to summon Feixiao, Black swan and Kafka. So now I will pull for my DOT team and a support for the FUA team. My next summon will probably be for Herta if I like her design and her kit. Otherwise I will wait.

She's the best support for Feixiao and FUA, great for DoT and very versatile support (can be used in dual DPS and Pure Fiction). Having her increase the value of your overall account and she's easier to build. We will never know when her next rerun is. And Harmony character is least to be powercreep. Then you need a 5* limited Sustain. Take your choice. Atleast have one. Good luck pulling and saving.
Im usually a f2p in gachas my first and best gacha ive played was db dokkan battle so i plan to play honkai mostly as a light spender/f2p since i never spent in a gacha before and i am usually super hesitant. So any advice would be good i bought the 30 day currency thing and the one that comes with 600 of the premium currency
i ain't free to play. I bought every amount there is and used up all the top up bonuses. I also buy the season pass (the normal one not the "+10 levels" nonsense. when i started out (latter half of 2.3 with jade) i got myself Yunli and Huohuo whom are both awesome. As well as Yunli LC. (failing EVERY 50/50 and 75/25 on the way...) i failed 50/50 for SParkle to cuzz i wanted her... Now i have 140 pulls again right now and don't spend any during this banner because while Feixiao and Robin are cool. i already have 1 FUA team and i LOVE Topaz. So i'm saving up for her and her LC. Don't care about Rappa and so far all the leaks/rumors don't entice me anyway. It's been going well so far but i swear to god if Fu Xuan gets a rerun i'm gonna die. Now i just need to find a character i want to pull for a SECOND team. I'm patient though. Like jingliu or Acheron would be cool but... i dunno
I think there's 200k free jades if you do every single quest, event, dailies, gg, swarm, moc, apoc, pf, puzzles, simu, divergent, chests, trotters, achievements. People really underestimate how much there is.
probably won't reach 200k. all old event had time limited rewards. it doesn't exist anymore. like now if you do the march training mini game, you get close to nothing from it.
@mogamiaki211 old events had 0 time limited jades, the only limited for them were things like lightcones, March training never gave much in terms of jades so moot point Also I simply listed everything but events isn't really the biggest portion of the jades. That will probably be Divergent Universe, especially over time
It depends how you look at it spending a 100 on star rail isnt that crazy if its the only game you play. Before i played gacha i was buyin new games evry couple months and i would always beat them way to fast and then regret buyin them
DoT are a very good team type in general (except for enemies that needs to be broken before you can do any significant dmg even with DoT), and dhil/Dang Feng is very dependant on the elemental weakness like as most destruction and hunt dps characters.
I am a DoT lover, got 22 pulls saved up. On the current banner I got: 1 Black Swan, 1 Kafka, 1 Bailu, 1 Yanqing, 1 Kafka LightCone, 1 Feixiao. My BS is at E2S1 now same as Kafka

Sometimes that extra 10 pull is a character a f2p wouldn't have basically.

Can you still full star endgame content with only dot and dhil hypercarry?
