- Picture you've just tasted the worst flavor in the world! What's it actually taste like? Is it sour? Sweet? Bitter? Maybe it's none of those, a new flavor? Here's a hint! It's much worse than you think!

Of all the flavors in the world… what do you think would be considered the absolute worst? Is there even a way to classify this? After all, deciding whether a flavor is “bad” or not many times comes down to personal preference. Many people, for instance, hate the taste of bananas, or brussel sprouts, or even lima beans. Anthony Bordain went on record as saying that fermented shark was the worst tasting dish he had ever eaten in his life. Well, we here at Brainiac happen to love all these things… uhm, well, maybe not the fermented shark because to be honest, we haven’t had the privilege of trying it yet (I’m sure a few brave souls here would though!). But, believe it or not, there’s one substance that is scientifically proven to be one of the, if not THE most bitter substance on the planet. To put it’s bitterness in perspective, one teaspoon of it can still be tasted if dropped into an Olympic sized swimming pool. Oh, you read correctly. So… just what is this incredibly nasty substance? Well, you’ll just have to watch today’s video to find out. And hey, while we’re at it we’ll talk about how our sense of taste works, whey we can even taste things at all, and of course, what are some actual things that contain this infamously vile and disgusting substance… which is known for being the worst flavor in the world. Better pinch that nose as you try this one Brainiacs, because it’s getting pretty nasty in today’s video.

I tried a tiny bit of bitrix. I hated it. Here’s the story:
I was playing lego marvel 2 on my switch and bitrex is on the cartridges. I changed the cartridge to captain toad and then ate some cucumber and bitrex from my finger or something must’ve gotten on it. It tasted AWFUL.

The chemical listed at the end would pale In comparison to something called sirstromming, its nordic and it smells like death and tastes like it to its fermented herring. I have seen some vids were just opening it induces vomiting. So yeah I'm sure this bitrex is bad but not the worst

I think I've tasted it. Nintendo switch games are coated in a harmless substance that is insanely bad tasting by design to prevent choking hazard. I was curious when I learned this so I just barely touched the tip of my tongue to my breath of the wild game and instantly regretted it. Nothing I did would make the taste go away or lessen in any way. And I got creative! Ultimately I was just forced to sit there with my tongue sticking out of my mouth and wait. You should totally try it.
