When it rains, everything gets wet, so water will not hurt anything. I do not know about the new trucks but a couple years ago, most had a rear axle breather tube attached to the underside of the bed directly overhead. So one could submerge the bed almost to the bed’s wheel wells and not cause possible water damage to the rear axle.
I would be a nervous wreck if all 4 of my tires were in the water. But you had a good crew
