It was extremely dangerous and racist even by the standards of the time. The fighters were usually black and it was usually a sick form of entertainment for drunken white men. Some of the early black boxing legends got their start in it because of segregation making it hard to fight professionally.

I really liked this video! My only criticism of it is @ 22:30 when it's mentioned that Tipped Off 9 was 7 years ago. Makes more sense referencing periods of time within the time period the video is documenting. This is a really good video that I think people will watch for years to come and the 7 year reference won't make as much sense in the future, if that makes sense? Loved it though!

Great video. Doubles has rollback and will be implemented in slippi now so maybe it has more potential to thrive. As leffen put it in his video doubles will be easier to set up for practice without needing to gather 4 ppl in one place.
I love slippi online, but the most fun and the most meaningful experiences I've had with melee have been playing with my friends in our old college apartment.
