3:20 When the narrator is reading a script that was written by someone who has no idea how a railroad works. It’s called a DETECTOR. A HOT BOX is the defect, not the device that looks for it.
Yeah lmao. The only problem is they need to appeal to a crowd that knows nothing about trains so that they can maximize viewership. So they can say whatever they want and most people will fall for it. As long as it sounds dramatic, then it’s good.
I love how they try so hard to make it dramatic and suspenseful. Most of the EMDs that Canadian Railroads use (CN, CP, Ontario Northland, VIA Rail, etc) are modified and maintained for freezing conditions. They got better engine block and unit heaters as well as snow roofs mostly
Yeah here at KCS we strip down SD70ACe's and ES44's on a weekly basis for overhaul like it's nothing. Some ex CN GP38-1's with no dynamics are not that big a deal
I can't find any information about this show, like anywhere. It has no IMDB, no Wiki page, nothing on DMAX's site, and I can't even find torrents that might have credits I can watch. Who has information about this show???
This rail line (ONR) Is BASED (HEAD OFFICE) in my hometown of North Bay On. Canada. And is a government owned rail line. Subsadized b our tax dollars. Why the heck we not get to see this show?? Lol
They make it so dramatic but anyone who has ever worked railroad knows this is all in a days work lol

We call them hot box detectors here lol

Why is the narrator making the least dramatic thing sound like if it goes wrong the world will end?
Television
I was thinking the same.
This guy has that kind of voice that makes you want to punch someone in the throat.
Because the narrator is from a country where LEAVES stop an entire rail network for days so yeah. The least dramatic things are over dramatized there.
Narration is comically dramatic.
Thought I was the only one who noticed 😂😂😂
Came for trains, stayed for the silly narrator
Lmfao they’re acting like people actually even read “news” papers anymore
When Milwaukie gets so much free advertising
The Brits think a 40 car train is long, and those Geeps are "massive" locomotives LOL. They haven't got a clue.
The alternator is only $15,00? I thought it would be more that that since it is an integral part of the locomotive. They cant move without it.
$15.000!
So cold its amazing anythign works
Yeah, true.

@@richardlewis3676 ok cool.
Honestly hardest part of the whole thing is to keep air pressure thru the train. The long it is the harder it is to do that

cool. so im curios who would you rather get the deal CN or CP?
It was only 40 cars. Try walking 247
Now this is something that you don't see everyday
This would literally be a normal day on any Northern Railroad.
1:12 (2000HP) more than 10 SUVs, sorry, 10 of my SUV are 2300hp, and I didn't modify it, just factory original. lol
That's believable.....2300HP for am SUV sure. And I was the president of the US myself.
Yo, I live so close to Cochrane, that's so cool.
Ah yes, the old Northern Lights motel...gawd..
ÖBB Hercules does 4000 HRSPRS with its 16 Cylinders. Can go 140 kmh.

Ontario Northland!! 👍👍
This is actually comical. 40 cars is 1/8-1/4 the length of the trains in North American
I like how there is only 49 comments
One big powerful steam engine will pull that's easly
Bring out the Big boy
and burn 6 times the fuel

Why didn't he back the train up to retake its' crew?
You need a spotter on the back when reversing a train
@@andrewtillotson9472 okay. Good answer. Thanks.
You NEVER reverse a train without a spotter or permission from Dispatchers. Too much could go wrong.
Hi
As a Japanese I really am confused why they r so dramatic lol
Well it makes it more "interesting" but it's not legit and kinda ruins the shows

Too slow narration
I wonder how dramatic this would be without the ridiculous background music. FFS
Why are you talking like that, is that really necessary?
Hello
