I’m 6’2” in a 21’ 4Runner TRD ORP and drove it a year before I got my risers from desert does it and it’s night and day improvement over my back and knees. A must have imo for anyone over 6’.

Did your headroom change much after installing them?

@@Sneds_ nah not at all. The seat jackers are only on the front so only the front of the seat is raised and the rear kind of rocks backwards so while the legs of the seat are raised, the rear isn’t where your torso is. I’m sure if it was possible too and measured properly, then maybe there would be some minuscule difference, but if so, it’s not enough to notice in-use. It’s basically allowing the seat to close the gap to the bottom of your thighs and support your legs properly. That adds to noticeable improvement and no pain while driving anymore. If you’re tall and have long legs just order them. You’ll be glad you did.
Check here, desert does it, and Google them for the best price. Whichever is cheaper get them there.

I installed a set of Seat Jackers (off brand) and they are 100% worth it. I am only 5'9" and made a 14.5 hour drive a few weeks ago. I only stopped to refuel. I had no discomfort at all throughout the drive. Well worth the investment.

Seat risers are pretty expensive, I used washers on my 4runner. Very inexpensive and you can adjust the height to your own tastes.

My dad did something similar with with his 1984 Toyota Pickup. He was 6'2" and long legged, so the "default" seating was killing him, especially with the clutch being utilitarian. So he fabricated a wedge. Would not have been any less safe then the default seat anchoring :). Best mod ever.

I've never purchased any of the new Tacoma's or 4Runner's because, at 6'-1", I was tired of looking through the sunroof! Exaggeration I know, but I've always hated ducking to see past the rear view mirror. Not to mention, I'm only looking through the top 6" of the windshield. Seems counterintuitive to RAISE the seat.

It doesn't really lift up your whole body, it just gives your legs better support. The Tacoma is worse than the 4Runner when it comes to being tall people friendly.

so this has actually made me want to get a set or risers for my FJ more than anything I had previously seen, you made some great points, and as a Manual owner, I thought those issues were just par for the course, if it can be improved even a little I'm interested! I see yours is only listed for 16-23 tacoma and 2010-currrent 4runner, But I dont see why you couldn't also market it for the 2003-current 4R, 03-23 gx 460/470, 2005-23 tacoma and the entire 06-14 FJ cruisers, as Far as I am aware we all use the same seat mounting up front. If you want a 2013 FJ for confirmation/photos I volunteer!

They will fit on the FJ. We just are not focusing on the older gen stuff. If I could do them all I would but we do not have the capacity or time to go backwards and build out the website for older models, so we are focusing on current and new models.

So I was looking into these and read that they were a huge safety liability. What I read was that Toyota and other car brands run crash test with the seats at the original angle obviously and changing that angle or adding more components that could fail could drastically change the outcome of crashes. Not sure how much truth there is to that though...
