My anniversary is December 9th, it’ll be 12 years married. December weddings are so fun, we love that every holiday season we can incorporate something from our wedding. We also had a very small and private wedding, but I had a few bouquets of twisty wood sticks that we covered in white Christmas lights and hung icicle ornaments from. Our guests took some of the icicles but we still have some and use them on our tree every year. ❤❤❤ congratulations on your marriage.
Twisty wood sticks covered in lights and hung with icicles -- that sounds GORGEOUS! Thanks for the congratulations! And happy upcoming anniversary to you too 💜💜💜
haven't even started and already love this concept!! your thoughts on media combined w your vocabulary and overall vibes = perfection!! sending you so much love, mauvey!!
Anytime you discuss your taste in books and movies I become even more convinced that we would be such good friends if we knew one another in person. By the way, I loved Tár. It felt like such a special film and so complex… I rewatch it at least once a week and still remain lost in its layers.
Hey Mauve, just got my period and needed something to relax to as I was going through it 😩 Your Top books and Top movies of the year were so relaxing, thank you so much for making them ❤️ I wrote down some recommendations ✨
I love this game! For movies I saw at the theatre, standouts for me included Past Lives, Bottoms, Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers. I also was surprisingly taken with Oppenheimer. Other films I watched for the first time and loved included Jeanne Dielman, A Fantastic Woman, and Sunset Boulevard.
We want to see The Holdovers! We have some movie tickets on hand from Christmas last year (a gift) and are thinking of using the last two on The Holdovers
Absolutely love your videos on movies (and your content in general :) ) some of my personal favs that I saw this year are : Paris 13th District, Mommy, Good Time, The Thin Red Line and Rye Lane.
Happy birthday in advance, Mauve! 🥰🤗💖🥳🎂 You're STILL one of My ALL-TIME FAVOURITE ASMRtists! I love you and your channel sO much! 🥰🤗💖 AND... CONGRATULATIONS in advance on your wedding coming up! 👰🏻♀️💍💐🔔🍾
I cannot remember the names of movies! I loved Winona Ryder in Gone in the Night and in Destination Wedding with Keanu Reeves (not what it sounds like at all, feels like a play) I loved the pacing and imagery of Woman on the Train. The movie Enemy with Jake Gyllenhaal was really interesting too. I feel like I find gems and then I lose them again, I need to make lists! Happy cosy season Mauve ❤
Have you ever watched the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind? It’s complex but the meaning is so beautiful yet heart wrenching with lots of symbolism
I haven't seen any of these 😱 but I'm gonna catch Tar soon. I suspect I'll really enjoy it. I've totally gone Movie Mode this year and I think seen more in the last 11 months than I have in previous years combined lol. I think watching Godard's _La Chinoise_ & _Weekend_ earlier this year permanently altered my brain chemistry lmao. But also special shoutouts to _El Verdugo_ (a 1963 Spanish black comedy that is very funny and pretty bleak), and also coming in under the wire I just watched _May December_ last night and I'm *floored* by how much I got out of it. A movie that really rewards thinking & talking about it imo.
Thanks for the recs! Adding to my list! As for May December I just watched last week and really enjoyed! Maybe not as much as everyone else though. But the camp factor was a BIG WIN for me, especially as it pertains to the theme and plot
@@MauveASMR I do feel sort of lucky that I caught May December really early. I had just heard that the main performances were good but I didn't even know the premise when I threw it on hahaha. It's so rare that I experience a movie like that these days and it totally hooked me. I've been having big thinks lately about actors and acting and movies and stories and production and this just really slotted in there nicely.
Palm Trees and Power Lines was fucking bleak. But I heard a great interview of the writer-director on The Big Picture when it came out. loved Past Lives, Oppenheimer, Showing Up, and May December. I've enjoyed watching some Bob Hoskins gangster pictures from the 80s as well as Hal Hartley's indie movies from the 90s!

Dangerous Liaisons was one of my favorites for ages. Thanks for the reminder-time for a rewatch.

Loooove destination wedding!
Okay Destination Wedding is officially on my to-watch list! Thank you!
Thank you for the recommendations! My movie recommendation: The Fountain. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz star in it. Beautiful film.
What movies did she talk about? I missed the titles completely/misheard
Tar, Dangerous Liaisons, Full Time, Past Lives, Palm Trees And Powerlines
Thank you@@verynotunique

I have! I love it! For many many years that's what I would say when asked for my favorite movie
