Osu! Not so bad! More Close to the Original Sansai no Kata then Butokukai and WKF. Still not perfect, but only some small details to correct. Thank You Sensei Fujita Seigo! Now in WKF they have raped our Shukumine no Gensei Ryu Karate-do Kata: Sansai no Kata. I have seen performers who make Sansai no Kata in WKF tournaments, and it look like SHIT!!!! They have no idea what is happening in the Kata, and only makes some STUPID techniques. Sensei Seigo Fujita though, teach out quite good. I'm happy to see that Sensei Fujita didn't plagiat the Butokukai version. Butokukai is NOT Gensei Ryu!!! Kuniko Tosa stole Gensei Ryu from the founder Saiko Shihan Seiken Shukumine, and Tosa spread out the "- I created this…", which isn't true. There has been a long process in Court in Japan ever since that, and Tosa is not allowed to use the "Gensei Ryu" according to Court, but he still do. I'm a student of Shihan Jari Hiltunen (7 Dan), which was a student directly of Saiko Shihan Seiken Shukumine. Not many has ever meet Saiko Shihan Seiken Shukumine. Nobody can question this, and it is my obligation to keep the Gensei Ryu as Close as possible to the original style: Gensei Ryu 祝嶺 の 玄制流. My very best regards to my dear friend Sensei Seigo Fujita. wonderblas xxx Muchas gracias, me alegro. Una pena que, como bien dices, no es el que se realiza en campeonatos internacionales. Cuando se pierde el horizonte del kata, es decir, el origen, el sentido de las técnicas y los principios del estilo pasan ese tipo de cosas.
Ebi keri is a difficult kick, you need to train and practice a lot. It's very important to use hips, have good balance and have a good body position. The most important things are hard work and have a Gensei-Ryu teacher. I hope you found it useful.
Thankyou! the way I got taught the Kata was the WKF version where they bend the arms and hold the position when the kick is fully extended. Just thought it would look more impressive for competition if I did it the traditional Genseiryu way instead of the Shotokan Adaptation of the kata. Like you see in WKF.

I was told to never lift the heels while moving in Shotokan... Is lifting the heels a Gensei Ryu thing?
It is a characteristic of Gensei ryu style, although it is not always allowed to lift the heel.
In this particular case it is allowed.
This kata is rare in my region
Kind of different from what I've been seeing in competitions.
This video is based on the Shukumine Sensei (creator of the Gensei ryu style) book Shin Karate do Kyohan.
The competition version has been modified.
Great video!! Very helpful!! OSU!!
Mattwood Karate Thank you!!!!! 😄
mornia1997 I'm struggling with the Ebi Geri, any advice??
Patience and a Gensei Ryu teacher to teach you how to do it. It has no more secret
