I'm a 40 year old white bloke from Britain. But I've been on a RUclips algorithm binge on black hair for hours! It started off with what nappy hair meant from a line in stevie wonders "I wish", and I've gone down the rabbit hole. It's blown my mind about how much time, work and effort it takes to make black hair look a certain way. Like the heat the time the chemicals, it's fucking crazy! I never knew there were different levels of curls or anything. Every barber shop should definitely have one black hair specialist. I always wondered when I was growing up, my black mates would always get their hair done by family members instead of just getting a cut at school. Black hair is so amzingly complex.

Did you happen to go to Aveda? Because that’s how Aveda is as well. Is not tailored to ethnic hair at all. We learned like 3 techniques. I’ve taught myself most of what I know.

I’ve tried to get a silk press twice and I’m convinced that either both beauticians didn’t know what they were doing or my hair just isn’t built for it. My hair reverted back as soon as I walked out the shop both times. Plus it had no body or movement to it whatsoever 🙄 I have 4B/4C hair and it’s fine when straightened, I’ve seen women with my hair type get slayed in the salon on RUclips so I know it’s possible!
Watching the hair get parted and then straightened is so satisfying for some reason... prolly cuz doing that on your own head is truly a pain in the ass even when your hair is only a bit wavy.

海外大時代のブラジル人の友人がこういう髪質の方って逆に凄く髪が細くて脆いって言ってましたよー！だからストレートにする為の強力なストパーは高い上に髪が溶けるリスクがあるからしたくないらしいです。。だから日本人からは想像つかないほどストレートの髪の毛への憧れがあるみたいですね。
