I find police eating McDonald's whilst on duty slightly inappropriate if I'm honest. They need brain food and food that gives you good energy. Not heavily processed garbage which leaves your mind clouded and physical activity hard.
Especially when all these places give them numerous benefits and discounts. Quality of policing was always bad, but over the last 20 years it's reaching bottom.

The (IVMA) project are currently building the new product which will replace the existing mobile data terminals (MDT) in 1330 vehicles on the MPS fleet. The IVMA solution will be permanently fixed in the vehicle and powered by the vehicle battery. The main difference between the old and new systems is the IVMA device has its own battery, substantially reducing vehicle battery usage. One of the benefits of the new solution is police vehicles will not need to be kept running to maintain power to the in vehicle device. Fuel emissions and costs will reduce. The simple solution would be to follow the law and put an officer in the vehicle so it would not be left idling unattended. We have to follow the law, so should they. There must have been 5 or 6 officers stood about, put one in the vehicle.
I believe that the law might not apply to police vehicles, which is why police cars are able to stay running without the keys. It wouldn't make sense for the police to spend money installing a system which would be illegal if used.
That awful Sgt and officers like him are the exact reason why the police are so badly HATED,this is exactly why you should always record the police 🤳 EXPOSE THEM ALL 🤬
2:50 You're right AB. An idling engine won't charge the battery. It can help to provide power to auxiliary devices, but even then it would be a bad design decision not to have a secondary battery to provide power to those devices if they draw so much power. That might have been the case a decade or two back that the devices would've drawn a lot of power, but with modern equipment very unlikely. The main battery would be more than capable of keeping the devices going for an hour or so, more than enough time for them to handle whatever they are doing.
Wrong. An alternator charges at idle or at any speed. A generator only charges the faster it gets. If the batteries are in line and one battery is duff, it will drain the good battery .
@@gjclark2478 While it is technically possible to charge your car battery by just idling, it’s not very efficient. You’d likely have to leave your car running for hours to even come close to a full charge. This is due to the amount of charge that is initially lost when cranking the engine. Some studies have shown that it can take between 15-30 minutes to recoup this initial charge

Police are exempt from the idling law
How lucky those two young men were to meet AB!
great to see you tackling idling - Thank you AB - I have been tackling this here in Bournemouth for last three years -unattended idling is an offence - called Quitting - we have a problem every day with coaches - I video almost every day - used to approach them - but told by police I could not
Good auditing AB, he's not going to switch it off because AB ask him lol
Yes, they don’t like being told also why are their so many Police on duty I, bet if you wanted one you would not find one.
He also doesn't have to turn it off, police are exempt from the idling law
He should have said Don't turn it off, Good lad, and they might have done it to annoy him
"It's wasting gas, You know Putin isn't going to sell us gas anymore" hahahaha!
I am reluctant to take my vehicle on the road because I can't afford the fuel and yet this sergeant is polluting the atmosphere with our money. I hope you are going to report this to the appropriate authorities.
There needs to be a directive from very senior police to inform forces all over the country that leaving the engine running is illegal, not acceptable and has to stop.
They'd need enough brains in the first place to realise that junk food should be avoided when there are healthier alternatives available. Or they'd need the self discipline to avoid addictive foods, such as McD's.
Bit of a Karen comment, people should be allowed to eat what they want for lunch.
exactly
@@merlin7654 I don't think expecting certain standards from our police is being a Karen, what you just said in response though most certainly is something a Karen would say.
I know a lot of the public would feel safer if police were more health conscious and kept themselves in good/better shape. Not too much to ask I don't think. Eat what you want when the uniform is off and you are at home but on duty have some sense and at least be seen to be making smart life choices.
Edit: You used to work for the Met Police so no wonder you are simping for them!! 🤣🤣
The old one rule for us another rule for them. They do not like Transparency. Nice one AB.
Us scousers love you *AB* keep up the great work 💯👍🏼
🙏🏼
The sarge was so quick to come up with the excuse he must use it all the time 😂
The magic food-bowl of his pegasus that he keeps in the back of the van won't fill up, unless the engine is running!
Oh, the sergeant does not like anyone to tell him what to do!?!?
Well, we the public also.
I thought there was going to be a calm down calm down reference somewhere 😁 Great to see the fans at the end. Keep up the good work 👍
Outrageously stubborn man. How can we trust such a temperament to police our country if they don’t give a £&@& about anything but themselves and their ego?
This is comedy (CARRY ON SARGENT )hes playing with his NUTS don't shake his hand 🤣
8:20 he literally said "its just one more vehicle among 1000s" but that's how pollution happens!!! one vehicle at a time - he's totally lying, that's proof right there
Ab you remind me of a great Arabic quote "While the monkeys laugh in the trees, the lion moves on." 🦁😂
Another great Audit AB! Please come to the southwest/Plymouth Area! Would love to do an audit with you ❤️
What a load of bollocks, charging the auxillary battery that runs all the blue lights and cameras, how stupid do they think we are.
The fact of the matter is that idiot was idling and left the van unattended.. anyone else will get a ticket..
AB asked a very good question, what happens to the van overnight!? Do they leave it running as well!?😳
Why are they all standing around.. why can’t they FAN out to cover more area in order to catch more criminals!?😳
use this video to cancel a ticket. say it was charging your mobile lights cameras..
At least you ruined a morons day 😂 well done AB , I hate people leaving engines running it's deadly to breath in after even a few minutes.
Freedom of Information request... For the details of all of the equipment that the sergeant referred to which needed an auxiliary battery to operate in an emergency (to verify his story) and also procurement documents to see why Police are acquiring such fragile and unreliable equipment for emergency use.
I be amazed if you get a reply from the Police DPO, then ICO will upheld in your favour and still you get no answer.
Look up on ICO website under enforcenent for Bedford Cambridgeshire Hertfordshire (BCH) police, as BCH has no complicance under the FoIA, UKGDPR and DPA.
It's been done in London. Here's the reply
The In Vehicle Mobile Application (IVMA) solution will commence roll out in March 2016 and finish at the end of August 2016.
So for the Met you have them bang to rights.
@@pqrstzxerty1296 On the DPS department, for the met, I've taken to making complaints. I'm getting quite good at it. I'm going to be on my third apology for a no response to a 999 call.
What they haven't realised is that I'm going to up the ante. Fraud is the next one. If a police force fails to record a crime, its fraud. Officers have gone down for it and they have been sacked.
What's the betting that if they don't respond to a 999 call, that they failed to record the crime?
@@unhingedbracket121 I take them to Court for costs and damages, lately the police just get the insurance company to pay out. um why does a police force have company liability insurance instead of using the Sec.of.State Bond ?
Police are changing their name lately from force to a Unit. Ie BCH unit.
Also, the insurance company is a US based one, admin'ed in the US too.
@@pqrstzxerty1296 Police forces should have no insurance.
Police officer should have insurance, and they should pay for it.
No insurance, no job.
That sergeant is lying about charging the equipment! Probably left it running so it’s nice and warm for them when they sit back in it!
By their logic, they take their emergency equipment out with them, with flat batteries.
AB. They'll never let you be a copper. You would have half the brass arrested in a couple of weeks. The van has a nice heater.
If you sit in your Motorhome and idle and tell the police that you are charging your leisure battery , they will book you.
But if you say its charging the emergency battery so you can watch the football on Sky later it will be ok... 🙈
No you are booked with a £100 FPN fine.
I love the way he said… it sounded like you gave him an order 😂
He was correct though, wasn’t he?
And they say they don't have enough resources .....
They met a living legend, so happy 🤗👏👏👏
If that has a low auxiliary battery, then it should have been defected at base.
what an angry little teletubby that Sergeant is
😂, AB, I thought the same thing… ? What happens at night then 😂
A friend of mine stole one of those batteries out of a Police vehicle last night. I expect charging will follow very soon.👀😂
not unless he was 'idling'. lol
Well they do say, god helps them that help themselves, but I say god help them that get caught. So????
Excellent work!! Love you getting noticed by fans at the end 🙂
🤛
The alternator works by turning mechanical energy into electrical energy. When your engine is on, it powers a drive belt that rests on a pulley attached to the alternator. The pulley turns the alternator's rotor shaft, which spins a set of magnets around a coil generating alternating current.
And I thought it was done by magic...well you live and learn.
Also the alternator need to spin up to stick a decent charging voltage into the system. Ticking over won't charge it well at all.
The lady 😂she was smirking. She thought you were funny ab 😁
Did that copper just admit that they use hire cars? Is that tax payers money in hire cars??
Dumb plods ,should have them charged before leaving the station .
Loved how u said Putin is not going to give us fuel hahah
"You know Putin is not going sell us any gas anymore? Your wasting gas" 🤣😂🤣
I'm so looking forward to the next one 😂😂....guy trying to talk to you next a great pair of horse bollocks😅....outstanding lol!
They need reporting.. you should never leave an engine running unattended!!.
Its like soneone said in the comments , they most prob left it running to keep the van nice and warm for when they get back in after chatting and drinking cups of coffee outside.
if i found police acting like this in my area ill film it because im getting inspired by you because this warns people what police are like and how things are in areas
Look at them standing round with hands in pockets or just idling about looking bored. What a waste of taxpayers money.
I think it's sweet that you think they have to follow the law!
sarge had a lot of verbal manure for a bi-pedal porcine
We have vans at work that when you press a button you can pull the key out and lock it, it’s just for keeping the van warm inside. 😅
BS that would have been charged back at the station or if not there maintenance department needs looking in to
Cops idling around themselves eating McD's.
Mini cop seems to be enjoying herself. Hope she grows into a full size one soon.
When Ringo Starr dies the sergeant has got a job as the voice of Thomas the Tank Engine.
That awful Sgt and officers like him are the exact reason why the police are so badly HATED,this is exactly why you should always record the police 🤳 EXPOSE THEM ALL 🤬
I am always honestly-and-genuinely impressed and humbled by AB's bravery. I've watched him for years; I hope to keep doing so for a heap more years.
Police are exempt from the idling law
Of course lights and cameras work 😂
One rule for them and one rule for us if the same thing happened to Joe public then we would be fined 😡
Police are exempt from the idling law
@@Gravitics it looks That way doesn't it
@@jackwatsonepic626 it is that way, it doesn't just look like it
2:50 You're right AB.
I think he means there's a secondary battery for the extra lights and klaxons etc. Still the the vehicle is idling and causing pollution
@@gjclark2478 An alternator is a generator. Leisure batteries are never in line with the main battery. The whole point being that the main battery is never drained by the devices thereby allowing the vehicle to always be started and then to charge up both batteries.
Brilliant I fully support you ab and im a real scouser that lives round here.
"I can't breathe man" 🤣😂😂
Legend as always 😂 still the best online at what you do
So in that case We can ALL leave our cars idling to charge our Phones /Ipads etc . Why should the POLICE BE EXEMPT FRO TRAFFIC LAWS?
