This is a good idea.
I even suggested something like this on the Forza Suggestion Hub
Holy shit, this is a great idea. It feels like I'm being cheated by not earning level up bonuses when I'm driving any of my level 50 cars. It's basically punishment for using a max level car, when it should be giving us a reward IMO.

We now need online open race lobbies like back in FM7
They need to build up players first. 20 open lobbies will mean you're racing 1 or 2 people every time. They need limited options right now to keep lobbies full
We also need drift and drag races come back.

Don't celebrate just yet Forza doesn't want to get rid of this system , they never gave an exact date as to when they will get rid of this horrid system which only proves they have no intention of doing so
Not nearly enough changes yet. They still need to make career mode actually interesting by having races that require tire+fuel strategy AND decent championship series to work through and towards.
At least the possibility to create custom championship seasons... like the basics in most racing games ever...
I don't think the career mode will get any better. It was obvious from the start that the entire career was developed around this CarPG system. I wouldn't even really call it a career, because it only serves the purpose of upgrading your cars. Apart from that, it offers nothing at all. And since I only play single player, the game is already dead for me.
Its funny how we have to wait for these people to release a fixed game almost as if the game is in early development
In case you didn´t realize: That´s been the new standard with the "big players" in the past couple of years...
I think it would be cool if you achieve 100 race wins with certain manufacturer you would get further 25% discount on showroom cars. Offline and online race wins both combined

Fixing all the major bugs, removing the hated car progression system, and adding Nordschleife all in just two updates is sure to up FM's player count by about 1000%. Just in time for it to launch on Playstation this summer.
The car progression system is only being "removed" in update 6.
After fully upgraded, further points earned by a car are wasted as you are driving it. Car points storage should be common and we should be able to spend them on any car. Yes, just like in game credits. Or we should be able to convert them to credits too. Otherwise this solution too is incomplete though better than before.

@@spiderenigma2803Is it your point or theirs? Because it is so stupid for the only result is using much fewer cars because people won't want to spend hours upon hours to train a new car while there is an already trained one of the same class.

This way of doing the new car points system is the best change they've ever done. I'm happy it's a healthy mix of the two and I have tons of credits built up of the past few months so this is a massive W in my opinion.
Let us choose our own exhaust sound like nfs you can make it quieter/louder, more pops/less pops, aggressive sound/smooth sound etc

I found it funny that in career mode races on the first event I’m going up against cars with body kits and upgraded engines when all I start out with is an oil upgrade. Glad that’s no longer a problem when the update drops
We still have no Bathurst, I hope it's added soon.

Just don't understand how the leveling system got past any group of testers. I'm just happy they haven't completely given up on the game. Would love to see traditional drag racing back at least on the airport map

The only reason I downloaded this game for is to just get the Corvette E-Ray in FH5

Nothing wrong with Drag racing in fm, you want drag racing with better physics, horizon dosen’t even have proper drag racing, and to claim
It dosen’t belong in fm is silly, every fm has pretty much had it since day one and fm7 expanded on it then why waste it by not include it when you even have drag tyres in the game, i can bet you that it will be included in future

I kinda liked the level up system but I think the upgrades should have been like forza 4 where the more you race the more discounted your parts are
We need the old maps too Fr I miss the Alps racetrack in most of the other motorsport titles
To be honest, none of us wanted car progression in the first place. But now that it's gone, we can truly celebrate this acceptable decision. And now, I hope they will remodel and laser-scan the poorly outdated cars that we've been criticizing for years.
That and give us new Forza aero. And gran turismo style wide body kits

Thank god. I'm actually going to play the game now. I bet this will make a big difference in the amount of people that will play this game. I'm glad they weren't too big headed to realize they made a mistake. Respect for that.
This wont revive the game to a standard that'll keep it afloat for too long but they're on the roght path, if they release fujimi kaido and possibly sedona raceway or Camino Viejo de Montserrat next uodate then it'll definitely be a good jump up in player numbers.

Having played Motorsport for a little while now I don’t mind the car points too much but I just want the levels for upgrades bumped down or removed. Car points are a good mechanic though
A lot of positives at the moment, car sounds are being fixed, a lot smoother gameplay (ai still suck) Nurburgring coming, I just hope we get a lot more race cars like the Zonda R and old F1 cars and famous LM classics like the F1 GTR

This is great news to heard. I lost zero interest into Motorsport because of the car upgrade system, but honestly I don’t think I’ll get into it, especially with Horizon 5 still going.

The flexibility in the car leveling system is a really nice improvement. You can upgrade a car to the max right away like in Horizon, or stick with the grind if you're into it. I think this is really gonna bring more players over and turn Forza Motorsport into a good racing sim choice.
I hope they add in race music, could make racing more fun.
I'm glad they took a step in the right direction with the changes to car upgrading system cause it really annoyed me that I had to unnecessarily grind to upgrade the car how I want.

Looking forward to March, I’ll give the game a second chance then. TBH I’ll probably do a mix of the two, earn some points and buy some.

a step in the right direction, but we've already taken a taxi ride to the next city in the wrong direction.
This to me is a fantastic balance of the 2 systems. You can pay credits to get a car up to say C class for an online lobby, but then while you're racing, you're still levelling up the car and earning more car points to use later down the line should you then decide to tweak that car for a B class lobby, which then makes all those upgrades essentially free. You also still have the freedom with the car points being credited back as you take upgrades off so you have the freedom to experiment without any financial punishment.
I'd need to go back to FM7 to see the cost difference, but I think they have the Car Point price balance right. Slick tyres I'm sure where somewhere in the 10,000 to 15,000 credit range before?
Iv actually enjoyed the progression system, my main gripe is the lack of variety in events , and the little bugs that plague the game

They give you costs to fully upgrade a few cars, but that's taking like a B class car to R class. If you're just upgrading cars to the top of the class they're in, you're using a lot less car points (engine and drivetrain swaps are quite expensive). I checked several of my tunes and they're mostly around 4000 car points, which works out to 36,000 credits. From some testing this is around 2 online races or 30 minutes of racing against the AI in Free Play. It'll be a massive improvement although still less intuitive than just buying upgrades directly.
and no one wants a stock setup car wich is sad, i dont play fm8 im a PlayStation player and driving cars stock in gt7 is more fun then full upgraded
I'm fine with racing stock cars against the AI, but it's generally too much of a handicap for multiplayer.
How do you unlock the Acura ARX06 in the daytona image in the menu?
It’s a unicorn car. It was only available in the first month of the game through the first series.

I absolutely hated the car leveling progression system glad they changed that I just might have to come back to it
This is the least they need to sort, think about features most other racing games have, like abs and traction adjusting on the go. Lights? Wipers? Proximity markers that work and much more.
Are they also removing limited time cars? Not playinf until then

Really pd is already way ahead and they never locked upgrade parts behind levels,
And this change is not enough for fm to turn it around they they need to remove fomo from career mode add drag racing, fix many of inaccurate car models and sounds the list goes on
Now we just need an update 5 release date

This might get me to finally start playing the game again. Originally quit after i had a save rollback and was locked out of a championship due to it somehow saving car progression but not race progression. At leat this way I would have the freedom to fully modify vehicles before driving them. Guess I will be waiting until March
Now that the customization is fixed, is time for them to make the game playable.. literally. I cant belive that with the recommended pc parts and double the RAM I struggle to hit 60 FPS lol.

So funny that one of the things they were selling the game on is being completely back tracked
Next they need to change how long it takes to change gears cause in no world does it take 3 seconds to change gears in a manual car not to mention they do this for auto dct cars like the c8 z06 it should not give me a 6 second improvement on a lap just because of a race transmission with no adjustments
Ngl I've been enjoying it on free play racing the mclaren mp4 around all the different tracks
If you've played Forza Motorsport 4, this will feel very familiar - remember brand affinity? This is essentially individual car affinity, which I think strikes a PERFECT balance between freedom and encouragement to keep your current car. This is how it should've been from the start.

For the most part I personally like the car leveling system but some cars are absolutely trash. So I like the idea of keeping the levelling system in as an option

Bring back the missing things from FM4, auction house(without a cap), tune and livery storefront to SELL them, car clubs and club garages to share cars, club races, tracks like Tsukuba and Fujimi Kaido, C6 Z06 and 13 Mustang Boss 302, and more normal cars like Ford Fusion and Taurus etc.
But go to Forza 7 physics lol
Its nice to see devs actually listen to the players.
