The first time I beat the guy and that I saw the apple coming down after the credits I was like ''So is he gonna move out of the way, or not?'', thinking it was part of the cut scene. Then the apple killed him and GAMER OVER flashed across the screen. And I thought it was one of those ''ironic'' black humor-type endings. Then it sent me back to the boss and I realized I was supposed to move out of the way. Luckily I had tons of experience by then and it took me only a few more tries to beat him again.
I think it's a title. Anyone who can dodge countless spikes, defeat all 8 bosses, and dodge the unforgettable delicious fruit truly deserves the epic title of "The Guy".
"i have bested fruit, spike, and moon" it might sound silly, but in this game, its like killing chuck norris, pissing on his grave, going to heaven, beat him again, beat bruce lee and then kill god

It was a simple rage-inducing indie game that hit the internet one day. It is free and can be played by downloading it. The application itself however is kind of crashy.
I think it'd be better if the apple feel quickly and the player's keyboard fake locked up. When you press restart it reveals it was a prank. It's more tongue in cheek, summarizes the game, and leaves a better taste in your mouth instead of the anticlimactic THE END! with the easily avoidable apple that only affects like 1% of players but REALLY pisses them off.
turns out I was never able to beat the game because of my control set up. turns out my jump was z and shoot was x, and they don't really work well together as well as shift+z. i finally won after switching the controls.
@gameaventer11 technically, he defeated the guy after he died. the defeated sequence did not finish when he died, so it counted as him winning. Had he died AFTER the defeated sequence, he would have to do the boss again. The game registers whatever happens last, and in this case, it was the boss being defeated.
Okay I hate to question the story of a mostly stotyless game, but at the end you find out the current Guy is The Kid's fucking father, who had killed HIS father in order to gain the position of The Guy. But in the credits the last picture of the former Guys was Pitfall Harry so... does this mean The Kid's grandfather and The Father's dad was freaking PITFALL HARRY?!
Yes, he actually died there XD, but thanks to a kind bug, if you kill this class of boss before he throws you his attack, the game will automatically pass to the next event, that in this case were the credits. Something similar happened to me when I defeated the yellow dragon thing, for unknown reasos I died but I reapeared alive inside the castle. Regards!
@JustinKwapich: The streams of fire come if you are taking too long to shoot the eyes. It gets very tricky when they come out so try and be quick. You can always wall jump to the top and take out the other eye, just try and stay alive if nothing else.
Wow. You blended that kid good 'n proper. XP And here's me just finished the game on VERY HARD! (With a final death count of 325.) Although I have no intention of trying this out on Impossible difficulty. Which just leaves the Boss Rush mode to do, I suppose.

remember there is a secret cheat you can press "e" "n" "d" all at the same time to skip the final boss fight
