i love how eric's advice is always so genuine and tim's is always so sarcastic but it comes off the exact same

I agree that Tim is far less blunt in his delivery. And although Eric's humour never makes me laugh in the same way I think they do have positive synergy and are capable of bouncing ideas off each other while 'acting' as it were.
You can tell how much Tim gets a kick outta him.
