Great sounding demo!I have a Hiwatt vintage cabinet from 1972!Need to replace the 4x12speakers.Seems these would be a nice choice!Any thoughts?Cheers,Wendell.
I found out the F70 is a modern interpretation of the mid 70’s Hiwatt Fane speakers with the 2 inch voice coil. They sound fantastic and Sound City has the perfect cabinet for them. I hope Fane does an improved Axiom model in the future too. I loved that speaker.
Very inspiring playing bro ! Do think these bad boys speakers would sound similar with a 20 watt plexi small head and a 4/12 Marshall cab , ? Or mix them with different pair ? Thanks
Thanks bro! I have used these speakers with both a 20w and a 100w head amp and they always sound very good. At the moment I have two 2x12 cabinets that I use with two 50w amps (Hiwatt Custom Shop) In the two cabinets I have two pairs of FANE (F70+A60 and F90+A90) and they sound great!
Hi Giampaolo, great sound! I have a brand new t20/10 with the new Hiwatt Supersonic Octapulse (it has a purple label...I suppose a “purple Fane” sound-alike). What are your settings, maybe I can get close. Many Thanks.
Hello! Difficult to make a comparison between Fane and Celestion, they are two different speakers. The Fane are very transparent (almost FRFR) the Celestion instead color the sound a lot. Maybe you could think of something from the G12 series (G12H-30 or G12-65) But it's just an idea. The best would be to get modern Fane or a Fane Crescendo clones (there are many on the market)
I was thinking about replacing the stock speaker in my NOS Fender Tweed Blues Jr... with one of these Fane speakers. Seems the Fane line is very limited. I also have a Supro Thunderbolt with a 15 inch speaker. If I desired to grab a 15" to replace that one from Fane.. I'd be out of luck. Whatever. I love the sound of old Hiwatt amps. Thats all.

Yes they could certainly be a good choice ... I have a pair of 2x12 with the combination F70 + A60

Hi Gil... this is the setup I generally use on my HIWATT amps.
BASS 70-80%
MIDDLE 50-60%
TREBLE 30-40%
@@GiampaoloNoto Thank you very much for your kindness Giampaolo!
hi this is great job guy! I have hiwatt custom 20
I'm curious if this creamy F70 and purple F70 are the same.
Thanks!
I haven't tried the purple version, but if they're still F70 I think they might be the same.
@@GiampaoloNoto thanks for your kind answer! have a niceday!
Is it designed to sounds like the cresendo 12a then?
It's not a replica of the crescendo... but the sound is on that way... vintage, clean and warm.
Saludos desde México. Una pregunta ¿Cuál bocina celestion me daría un sonido cercano a el Fane de Gilmour? Saludos y muchas gracias.
