EDIT: Blog Post wp.me/p6Bk4r-4oj After weeks of scripting to gather my thoughts, selecting the best photos given the time frame between different acne scar treatments, filming for an hour, dealing with audio issues, computer shutting off mid-editing... The video for my results from 3 CO2 Fraxel Laser sessions is finally live! I'm still working on the blog post which will have before and after photos in regular colour as well as black and white. Stay tuned!
I love that you point out that your scars only really look bad when you purposefully put yourself in bad lighting and examine your skin because I do the same thing! Lol… in normal lighting my skin looks fine but I purposely get in bad lighting so I can examine my skin and then I get upset because I feel like my skin looks horrible. I gotta stop being so hard on myself because no one sees me in the worst lighting possible and I just set myself up to be upset. Lol. I’m just glad I’m not the only one. 💛🙂
We can't help but get obsessive over insecurities like that at the beginning, but it's always good when we can move forward from it :) Positive mindset is key
Hi Michelle! Thank you for your excellent review of your experience with CO2 Fraxel Laser! I love that you went into detail about how you perceived your acne scars and we perceive things compared to what others see. Your skin has always looked so vibrant and fresh, but now I can see the refined texture and more of a glow radiating from within! Thank you so much for this video!
I love this video. One of the best I’ve watched specifically on CO2 lasers . I find it so helpful that you’ve extensively shared about your acne scarring history and how much you’ve covered about your CO2 laser journey.
I suffered from acne for many years too. Luckily I don't have obvious acne scars. But it's interesting to learn about this kind of treatments. Thank you for the video and the recommendations.
Yeah I had the same experience with fraxel. First treatment was intense but brought the most results compared to anything else (Microneedling, dermabrasion, TCA across). Only thing about fraxel is it ain’t cheap. I would think that subcision would help with the indented scars, but looks like u got good results with the laser!
@@ProvocativePixels pores wasn’t something I was looking to smooth back then, mostly scarring. Pores are more superficial so I would imagine stuff like Microneedling would help for that too
@Trent I'm currently getting coolpeel laser done, I've had 2 sessions so far and going for my last treatment next week. I have textured skin and very large pores all over my face. I have noticed some improvement but so far not enough for the $1950 I've spent. Hoping that my last session really helps, normally the skin will continue improving 3 months after the laser. 🤞
I see a huge difference. I’m sure you feel even more beautiful. I’ve done 2 micro needling with PRP and 2 Fraxel. I see a major difference in scaring. I still have pores but not as large.
Was always curious about CO2 Fraxel. I’ve had regular fraxel done and didn’t see as much improvement as I was led on to believe. It was at the beginning of my acne scar journey so maybe I didn’t have proper expectations. If I saw any results, it was not instant. I felt the same way about microneedling. I thought when I was healing I saw results but that was just the inflammation. I can definitely say out of the 6 treatments I had - it smoothened out my scars a lot. It took around 6-8 months after the CIT (collagen induced treatments) to see anything noticeable. I spent so much time comparing all of my before and afters from each treatment. I had TCA done twice as well. TCA made my bigger scars more noticeable as they got wider. But they did get less shallow. I ended up going back to school so theres no budget for any treatments anytime soon but I’m already thinking i’m going to go back to Micro needling (because of the downtime, affordability, and consistency). I would love to know know more about subscision as well! I have one or two scars that I think would really benefit from it. I’ve also read some horror stories regarding that treatment. P.s how long did it take to see results? Was it instant after the first round of treatment and healing?
Thank you for sharing! After the inflammation settled I definitely noticed a smoother appearance. As I waited a few months I noticed the most indented scars on each cheek seemed to be more lifted. Perhaps I should wait another 3 months since 3-6 months seems to be commonly recommended in seeing results.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and making this video. I'm so glad I found your page! I really resonated with a lot of the things you said about how you viewed your skin prior to treatments. I suffered with acne for many years and scarring as a result from it and it's always been a source of shame and low self esteem for me. I'm now 36 and seem to have a better control over my acne. Last year I had a few professional sessions of microneedling with PRP, which helped me start to see some minor improvement to my overall skin texture and quality and recently started a series of fractional laser treatments (Fotona Deep Frac). My provider suggested I go down this route first and complete a series of 3-4 laser treatments, with some saline injections on scarring around my nose that were very deep. I've just completed my 2nd treatment last week after seeing some really great results after my first treatment, which was about 8 weeks ago. My pores looked significant smaller and saw some lifting of my scars. The saline injections really helped lift some of the deep scarring around my nose, so I'm hopeful I'll continue to see improvement after I fully heal after this second treatment. I've been asked to wait 3 months to see my full results before my third treatment and I'm considering the CO2 for my third treatment as I think this may be the better route to go since the Fotona isn't as strong of a treatment as CO2. I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons still. The price is a definite con, but the Fotana laser in my area costs $850 plus, $620 for the saline injections/scar revision but am starting to feel going with a next treatment with the CO2 may be the better route! Your results are wonderful! Thanks again for sharing in detail.
Thanks so much for sharing all the treatments you've tried!! I've never heard of the Fotona laser before, nice to know it's another option for acne scar revision
At 23 I’m lucky to have a great paying job the co2 is pricey asf but it’s worth it as I’m a week after my first session and I’m already healed pore size down and some scars are returning to normal honestly it’s on a person to person basis like she said and since my skin heals really good I got lucky and it’s improved crazy
May I ask about the reduction of pore size please. I have large pores (always been embarrassed) and I feel they're getting bigger as I age. Could you also go into cost and where you're from. Much appreciated.
I came here from your blogpost on your website. I appreciate the grounded perspective of the experience, pros and cons, doubly so from another person of color. Something to save up for in the future perhaps. You look radiant and I hope you feel that way now too that the results seemed to have settled in.
Thank you so much for looking at both my blog post and video! I'm glad it helped you in some way. I feel like my skin got a second chance and I definitely feel more confident about it than before 😊
i see that a lot of people has a long healing time .for me i made 2 sessions and i was cheap enough 70-120€ in greece ..i had redness for 2 days ..and not those marks like burning skin like i see at other videos ..i saw improvement after 3-4 months from my first session ..that is the time you need and now i will wait to see again because i did these days ! Hey! I am a male hispanic considering this procedure. Did the office you worked with use lower settings because of your skin tone? I have heard some things online saying that skin tones like mine, I would say Fitz 4, are not even good candidates. My skin is darker than yours but i'm not dark enough to be 5. Also, What you received is fractional and not full ablative laser, correct? Sorry some of this stuff has been confusing for me especially with my skin tone. I have an appointment monday with a clinic in Colorado for a consult. I am just worried they're going to tell me im not a good candidate when maybe theres a doctor out there that knows more of what they're doing and would say I am.
Hi Michelle! Just found your channel and i watched your healing video, just loved it! Thanks a lot for being so blunt and for sharing very detailed information, all the things we all are wondering, but nobody tells you. I’m about to begin with CO2 and I’m really nervous, my scars are very similar to yours, but I’m not sure if I have control over my acne, I mean, I know it gets bad with the junk food, my period, etc, trying daily to reduce those and i have a good skin care routine, but u know, suddenly another pimple pups up.. with so many years with scars, being positive its dificult, but i definitely your skin looks amazing, I hope get as good results as yours..
A minimum of 1.5 mm roller/stamp (use numbing cream if required) every few months. Male....been rolling/stamping for five years....eliminated all my box scars...have even used a 3.0mm roller .
Thank you for your time and the story you shared. I had one laser treatement so far and 3 day in my skin looks totally normal ( dry outter layer of skin a bit rough) like nothing was done. I have my 2 ns session planned in a month and cant wait. Yup, it hurts!
The strength could've been lighter for various reasons. I know for the following sessions I did, the derm was considerate of the time between the last session, my period, what actives I used prior, etc.!
I realize the necklines are from the way I sleep. I sleep on my side and lay on my shoulder, or I throw my arms up over my head all night. I've had them since I was in my teens, but now they're very visible.
Have you tried quitting coffee and white wine? (seriously). These were my problem causes (one cup of coffee or one glass of wine resulted in deep pimples in my skin after one or two days). I switched to tea and red wine for many years and have only recently discovered, that my skin now no longer reacts to coffee.
I don't drink alcohol because I have the Asian Glow gene :D With coffee, I've only noticed my skin's hydration levels change if I increase my consumption, but I've never seen a direct impact on my acne. My breakouts mostly stem from what I eat (too much sugar or anything that upsets my stomach). I recently started lowering my coffee intake so we'll see how that goes!
Hi Michelle, congratulations with amazing results 🥹 your skin looks so much smoother now, wooow!! Did you see the improvement in pores after the first session already? Or only after the full 3 sessions? Thank you 💖

CO2 results can take 3, 6, even 12 months to see the changes. I actually noticed some deeper scars looking better after the 12 month mark. It also depends the number of sessions you did, how strong they were, how your individual healing is... All in all, patience is key!
Hi great video! I currently have boxcar scars and ice pick scars, would CO2 be able to help fix these? It seems like you have more rolling scars, as mine are a bit deeper. Thanks!
