    I have a feeling I'll be buying a few accessories for this thing. Already ordered a stand from amazon for just $12.99. Will be getting the K600 when it becomes available at regular price again. Might even buy a separate monitor so I can use it as a stand alone computer, although I have an older Dell monitor that I could use. Already bought a 512GB micro SD. They should put a warning on the Steam Deck when you buy that says MAY CAUSE YOU TO BUY ACCESSORIES THAT COST UP TO OR MORE THAN THE STEAM DECK ITSELF!

      I guess the one saving grace of the Steam Deck is I already have tons of games that I can play on it in my Steam library. Also will be installing emulators on it once I get my keyboard.

    This makes me happy I’ve got the 512GB version because that glare would bother me man. Currently using a Microsoft BT keyboard for my Steam Deck but I find myself typing a lot slower on it. Looking for alternatives, thanks for the informative video.

    Just got my Deck a few days ago, and just trying to navigate desktop mode to install some things has left me to just put it down until I can get this. Extremely frustrating trying to navigate it. Definately not used to the interface. but it's just not working for me. And any tutorials I've seen online, they go so fast through settings you can't navigate the deck fast enough to even keep up. I bought this keyboard just for this issue. Thanks for the review.

    Does the D-pad send cursor and enter keys, just from an alternative position, or does it appear to the OS as a separate game controller or similar?
    I've been using Logitech's K400 and K400+ for sofa and sim-racing for years now and quite like them. Having a trackpad is great, as is having left-click over on the other side. (K400/+ have left and right click under the trackpad as well, with a second left click button on the left.) Really comfortable to hold.
    I do wish Logitech or someone would make a keyboard with a completely standard, full-size layout with the numpad replaced by a trackpad. In other words, I'd love for a full home/end/etc. block, full-size cursor keys in the correct position instead mashed into the main area, and full sized function keys with proper spacing. But the keyboard industry seems to be against standard layouts in a lot of segments. :(
    I don't know if it affects the K600 or not but one HUGE issue with the K400+ is that the function keys all have non-standard actions by default, unless you install the drivers to gain access to the F-lock toggle. And the drivers have to stay running and installed, and there are no Linux drivers. Even on Windows, the drivers cause major problems: They do an update check about 5 minutes after boot which seems to inexplicably steal focus from games and kick you back to the desktop. (At least, I have not seen this happen since I uninstalled them.) And they also make it so the left-click on the left side of the keyboard does not work within UAC prompts, which is a slight PITA. For some reason, it works fine if the drivers are not running.
    I don't know why they can't make the function keys be normal function keys by default, especially when their special actions are often things you can already do with the function keys. They can't even keep their non-standard functions consistent across keyboards, which is especially dumb when it comes to a secondary device keyboard like these. They could just print logos for the common actions the keys already perform and leave them alone. But who doesn't love pushing F2 to rename a file and ending up with some random thing happening instead? (In fact, I had to type this entire comment twice as I pushed F2 to find out what would happen and it cleared my browser tab and threw away everything I had typed, haha. Fantastic. Thanks, Logitech.)

    "I'm not going to use it on the Steam Deck because I think the beauty of- you'll need a hub for this, right, or you'll need an adapter to plug this into the top. I don't think that's what anybody's watching this video is really looking for, but it does have the receiver and it does work really really well on a PC." This is actually the primary reason I'm watching the video. Since it's 9 months later and the official dock is out now, people have begun searching for ways to remotely wake the Steam Deck. steamOS doesn't seem to allow remote wake over Bluetooth, but this dongle may work? Interested if you know or would be willing to re-review with this context in mind

    • @Darkuni
      @Darkuni  Год назад

      I actually would - if this keyboard was still readily available. But unfortunately, it just isn't anymore. I went looking to grab a backup and it is just so hard to find at a price that isn't ridiculous. I believe the Logitech Unifying Receiver would require drivers and I don't think there is a Linux release of it. Your best bet would be a 2.4ghz ElCheapo AliExpress type crappy handheld keyboard (I might still have a couple of those kicking around here ... maybe I'll try one).

    The Logitech K830 is the best keyboard for the steam deck by far. 1.The trackpad on the 830 has the mouse button on the right hand side which is much easier way to use an integrated mousepad and keyboard. Why? Well you use either your middle finger or 4th finger for moving the pointer and thumb and 4th finger for left and right mouse clicks. 2.the keyboard is WAY better on the k830. Much better clicking and use and feels like a full size keyboard than these circular keys. 3. The k830 is rechargeable using a micro usb cable. 4. The range on the k830 is far superior than any other Bluetooth keyboard I’ve ever used.
    I definitely think you need to try out a few of Logitech’s keyboards
