  • The County Clare team dance the final figure of the Plain Set after being announced winners of the over-18 set dancing competition in the Cavan Crystal Hotel at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2011. Music is played by Micheál Sexton on box accompanied by Pat Walsh on piano.

    @CEILIMAN ...there are "ceili dance" competitions at all Fleadh's come to Ireland and check the high standard of competition...ceili dancing is alive and kicking.

    I've been dancing since the age of 5, more than 55 years... learned the sets from the brothers of Chris Droney (north Clare concertina player and brilliant dancer), Jimmy Murrihy from Spanish Point, and Jerry Canny from Feakle - all of them dancing since they could walk! NONE of them EVER danced like this, thank God!

    Being ridiculously fast is putting people off learning.
    Turning dancing into a spectator sport. Very enjoyable though .

      Honestly I just liked the hard shoe being loud and having ppl yipping an cheering in the crowd it's fun but hard mind u my shoe looked way diff then theirs

    No doubt they are good but I've never liked to see clogging at set dancing Fairyloila is right they aren't on the beat at all.
