I had some incredible hunts last winter (right when I started filming for RUclips!) but this year I've really struggled to get to the beaches, hoping the luck will continue for a while longer. Cheers :)
I’ve only had two proper hunts with the 15” so far so I’m still learning how I’d like it set 😊 but I will make a general settings video in time. Cheers 😄

When a video is set to Premiere, people can see the video page before it launches, giving them a chance to like/dislike as opposed to just launching a video the usual way (without live chat, etc). :)
Maybe when you have the 15 inch coil on you can get a swingy thingy detector harness it can take some of the weight away from your arm it distributes the weight out. Google them. Congrats on all the silvers and that gold looked good.
I am going to call it a 'swingy thingy' from now on, Steve - LOL! Yep, definitely got a full harness (probably the Pro-Swing) on my list for Santa among all the other bits 'n bobs as I'd be able to rig my camera and finds bag up to it as well. Still not convinced if the gold is gold, I'll have to get a testing kit sometime. Cheers :)
Thanks for the video great to see you back again. I often find that same size coins grade together particularly on the base or hard pack of the beach 20c/2/- 10c/ 1/- and so on also 1 dollar coins came out in 1984 (Bob Hawk sovereigns) and 2 dollars in 1988 so its possible in a early area they might not be there apart from recent losses I do find that rings gold especially tend to stay where they are lost and just sink in to the sand because of their shape . Thanks again and happy 😊 hunting
Thanks for watching, Brian! Yes, I know what you mean about the density of targets and how they collate, I find the same occurs here - especially on the steep beaches where there's a tendency to roll down the dunes. This area does have modern finds over Summer but hardly anyone sits here in the colder months, so all the 'fresh drops' are pretty much gone. Hopefully I can pull a few more silvers before the sand piles up again. Cheers! :)
Hello Mish, new sub here... Congrats on the great day of finds... I just ordered the 15x12 yesterday to pair with my NOX 900, I'm anxiously waiting for it to arrive so I can get out there and try it, when the weather decides to break that is. It's still a bit too cold here in the Detroit area of Michigan, we're expecting a couple inches of snow tomorrow. I look forward to watching more of your hunt's young Lady... Happy Hunting!!
Welcome aboard! the 15x12 is a beast of a coil, it does make the 'nox fairly nose-heavy but you certainly cover some ground with each swing. These days my largest coil is a 13x11" on the Deus 2 (recently acquired it so it's not in any videos yet) - I sold the Equinox a little while ago to make room for my GPX 6000. I hope the weather turns for you soon. Cheers mate :)
Thanks, I purchased the Minelab Pro Swing 45 Harness, so the extra weight won't be a problem. Congrats on the new machines, I hope they serve you well... Our weather is going to start to change in the next week or so... Yay!! Happy Hunting!!
I'm in Australia too. I wonder if any crashed gold-laden ships have been recorded near Australian shores. I know quite a few have been recorded on the eastern seaboard of America.
Went to local beach today with standard coil. $14.55 collected in washed out dune area along with standard fishing sinkers and junk. When l have iffy signal l remove 50/100mm of sand with my boot to see if signal improves and then can get a better pinpoint.
Fantastic work on your hunt, well done! I do similar, usually do a scoop and re-swing a couple of times to see if the target improves or worsens. There were a few that got left behind on this day. Cheers :)
That’s what I call a fantastic hunt. Love your sense of humor. Bet the out takes would have us rolling in the floor. Start with a silver and you know it is a good day. Would a carbon fiber shaft help balance the weight of the15” coil? My 11” works on me.
I cut out a lot of sweary outtakes, Jim 😂 Normally if I start with a good target, the rest of the hunt is junk but today was simply amazing. As for the shafts, I typically run a full carbon shaft (upper and lower) but at the moment I'm using the stock nox shaft for the lower half that's connected to the 15" so that I can easily switch the coils, I'll buy another half from Detect-Ed in time. Cheers :)
awesome vid Mish, feeling the fun you had though it was a bit of an effort with the larger coil. I'm right there with you, being a nugget digger and having some mental issues i plan where i go to ensure nobody will see me. and so, no beach detecting for me, my business is just that, so a bit of a loner. love your vids, wondering what you might do with your'toasted' coins? i have an idea for you.
Cheers mate, it was an effort but you're right - I was having SO much fun! Regional beaches aren't too bad, there's a lot of times that I'm the only person about (which is why my finds are typically less plentiful than your average city beach detectorist). Re: toasted coins, there are very few silvers that are unreadable but I have a stash of fully toasted coins that I plan to polish up and display in a pirate chest fashion eventually. :)
@@DirtFishMish Cool, thanks for the response Mish. I do some work with sterling silver( there was a time i would make nugget pendants but no longer selling my gold). i can see your silvers having a high value as rings, pendants, bracelets. this would help a lot towards a espresso machine.
@@lanehorsey5053 I’m not sure if I could bring myself to do it, as silly as that may sound! 😂 but definitely an option if the toasted pile ends up growing too great. 😊
Nice hit on the silvers, I have the standard coil and the six but might have to look at one of those 15's, how much extra depth do you think it gets? Got a George the 4th 1826 shilling in the beach a couple of days ago which is my oldest silver to date.
G'day Mark, too early for me to call on the increase in depth, this beach is quite a 'clean' sounding one (no black sand etc) so I can typically punch deeper here than some of my other spots. I'll be curious to see how it goes on the trickier beaches. Congrats on the shilling, that is absolutely amazing! :)
Great video, some great finds there, well done. Question for you please, what make is the shaft on the sand scoop? Is it carbon? Thanks in advance, keep the videos coming 🙂
Hi Karl and thank you! Yes, it’s a carbon shaft directly from sitoscoops.com. There’s a wooden dowel in the middle where it joins to the scoop to reinforce it there. Cheers 😄
Congrats Mish. That's got to be gold. I did an early morning hunt at my local beach today, and I found a small 14K gold ring with a single diamond in the sand. It rang up a solid 9. _/ Cheers.
I'm still not 100% convinced, colour is spot on but the workmanship is somewhat iffy! Congratulations on the ring, what a delightful find! Cheers Luis :)
Are you referring to the nox's inbuilt pinpointer function? It's definitely a little more tricky on the 15" coil, but given I was using a large scoop it didn't matter if I was slightly off with my estimate. The hand-held pinpointer takes over once I know I've dug deep enough. Cheers :)
@@plugsfordays648 that's more my impatience than the detector 😂 the 11" and 6" are normally pretty dead centre of the coil if the time is taken to pinpoint correctly.
How's the bigger coil feel on the arm? The scoop definitely gives you a workout! Does the bigger coil cut through the junk signals a bit better? And does it go through battery quicker?
I'm definitely noticing the difference from the 11" in terms of weight, that's for sure! On today's hunt I ended up swinging for nearly 4hrs - arm was a little fatigued the next day, but not too bad (I have decent upper body strength from past jobs/hobbies). Too soon to tell for me re: cutting though junk, though I imagine it'll be somewhat harder to separate targets due to the amount of ground covered in each sweep. Battery... not a clue lol, I charge after each hunt. I don't recall it running low after this though :) Cheers!
I've heard the 15 in coil is noisy at high sensitivity settings ? I'm running Nox 600 . What's your take on that .on small targets how's it do? Love from Tennessee. Ur the best !!!!
Hi Michael, I'm actually using a 600 in most of my videos as well, including this one. The 15" would definitely be noisy in an environment with a lot of targets, or mineralised sand. This is one of the 'cleaner' beaches I go to and the sand here doesn't tend to set the detector off, though I do need to ground balance if the environment changes as I go. Before I filmed this I trialled it at a different beach and found junk targets smaller than my pinky fingernail. Cheers :)
So do you hunt with the larger coil from now on? I guess the question is. When do you choose which coil given that you now have the standard, the 6” and the 15”.
Great question, Mike! I'll be chopping and changing regularly dependent on the situation (and how fit I'm feeling on the day - lol!). The 15" is suited to open spaces with lower target density and/or easy digging - fields, open beaches. The 11" is a good all-rounder, and the 6" suits trashy/pokey spaces with high target density, or hunting around rocks and crevices where targets are typically not too far from the coil. Cheers :)

As for the learning curve, there’s plenty of videos using equinoxes so that’ll definitely help you out. Took me around 3mths to feel confident with mine. Cheers! 😁
@@DirtFishMish thank you very much - much appreciated.
Hello Mish, I just found your channel. It was highly recommended by a gentleman who’s channel is called NH Beach Detecting. Congratulations on those deep finds, very impressive! I’ve subscribed to your channel and excited to see more of your videos. Cheers from Boston, Massachusetts.
Hi there CJ! That’s very kind of him to mention me, I’ll be sure to give him my thanks. Glad to have you on board - there’s another beach video coming very soon, I am in lockdown at the moment so there might be a gap in filming after that but time will tell. Cheers 😁
The 15 goes super deep. Love your reaction on the deep targets. Top hunt
Cheers Raymond, I now know why you love it so much! :)
Hello Mish ! how nice to find those old coins , it is what I am most passionate about ! Keep going with your videos , thank you for them !!!!
Thank you Gus, I agree, I love to find the old coins as well! 😄
Outstanding finds way to go and great video thanks you for the enjoyment .
Thanks Alan, I'm so happy my first hunt back at the beach went well! :)
Another awesome hunt Mish., Got to love the silver.. Thanks for sharing.. Happy Hunting and Keep Swingin'...
Thank you so much, any silver day is a good day!! Cheers.
First homegrown tomato sandwiches of the year! Enough salt to make your teeth grit, enough pepper to make you sneeze, and enough mayonnaise to mortar the tomatoes and the soft white bread together! Awesome silvers to boot!
An amazing hunt Wish. Huge congrats
Thank you, I’m thrilled. 😁
Great finds enjoyed the video love your content
I thought it was only me getting tired on a hunt ! But it’s a lot of work good job on today’s hunt
I always start with way too much enthusiasm and it catches up with me at the end. 😂 Thanks for watching :)
What great finds. Love the video. Take care and Be Safe till next time. ❤
Thank you! Hope you have a lovely weekend Skye :)
Great hunt Mish with the new coil ! Can’t wait to see what you uncover - well done 👍
Thank you so much, and thanks for joining in on the chat too! :)
Excellent hunt today! Can't wait to get my minelab, hopefully this month!
Oooh hopefully it's in your hands soon, let me know how you go on the first hunt. Cheers :)
Just got the ctx 3030 its a lot different than my whites mxt pro and WAY deeper. So excited to have time to use it. Been working 6 days a week for forever with no end in sight. Thankfully Mish is holding it down.
Mish , you go girl !
Girl you where on FIRE 🔥 today !
Love those silver coins ( sweet ) !
The hunt I did at the 1850s home site ( pics I sent you ) paid off.
Found my first non broken pocket watch.
Sweet hunt Mish , love those silver coins !
Thanks mate, oooh congrats on the watch, that’s amazing! I’ve found a silver cover for one but that’s about it.
I’m so pleased to have finally had another good silver run. Hope I can do it again. Cheers🤞
A pocket watch, somebody would have been well and truly pissed off at loosing that. It would be the equivalent of loosing a top of the range mobile phone today.
Mark from Melbourne
@@markfryer9880 I have found pieces of pocket watches before but never a complete one.
It's a bucket lister for sure.
Good to see you out on a great beach hunt and plenty of 50 cents 😉, one Roman for me today.
I’ll trade you 50¢ for the Roman! Ha ha. Thank you Clive 😊
When you start of with an old silver , you just have to have an awesome hunt. Very nice indeed, well done Mish.
It was my good luck token for the day! Cheers Deb. :)
Winter beach hunts are usually very fruitful, this particular one was very good I think. Silver on a beach always brings a smile on 👍
I had some incredible hunts last winter (right when I started filming for RUclips!) but this year I've really struggled to get to the beaches, hoping the luck will continue for a while longer. Cheers :)
That was an amazing first hunt with the new coil!! Way to go Mish 🙌
Thanks George, I feel like I've broken it in properly now! Cheers :)
Awesome! A great hunt for sure. 👍
Thanks mate, I'm still stunned - I rarely find one shilling let alone four!!
Good video again!
Thanks again! :)
Hi Mish, when are you going to show us how you setup the nox for the 15” coil.
I’ve only had two proper hunts with the 15” so far so I’m still learning how I’d like it set 😊 but I will make a general settings video in time. Cheers 😄
Amazing work Mish!! Wish there were silvers on my beaches 🤣🤣
Just keep digging, you never know. ;)
DirtFishMish I am 🤗
Why a thumbs down by someone?
Bit jealous that you can’t get good finds yourself.
Nice finds Mish.
Thank you! I have a serial thumbs-down'er, there's always at least one on every video and on this occasion they hit it before the video even premiered! 🤪 I can't please everyone and I'm at peace with that, but I thank them for the engagement as it still helps my channel. Cheers 😊
@@DirtFishMish How do they manage to do it before the premiere? That takes a commitment of sorts??
When a video is set to Premiere, people can see the video page before it launches, giving them a chance to like/dislike as opposed to just launching a video the usual way (without live chat, etc). :)
First time watching you and you’re very informative.
I think I found another favorite channel to watch!
Happy hunting from New Hampshire USA.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! Cheers. 😁
You really have some great, fun n informative vids. You n gigmaster are my favs and I watch them all!!
The Gigmaster has such enthusiasm for the hobby, he's had some great tips over the years as well! Thanks Rocky :)
Loving it, never gets old, great hunt, you've got it
Thanks Daniel :)
great video will be getting a 15inch coil in uk worthing keep good work going michael
6 Silver & maybe gold is an awesome hunt Mish great coil. ATB HH Brad
I'm delighted! Cheers Brad :)
I'm glad I found your channel...I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much, Tom :)
No you’re glad to be out of lockdown. And what a wonderful hunt!
So glad to be able to get to these places again. Thank you Dawn :)
Wow what a great hunt Mish, congrats on the silver so cool, that coil is great but think it would kill me swinging that. Keep safe :-) xo
Cheers Deb, yep I reckon you'd fall over with this one after using the 6" coil 😂 but gee it is having some good adventures! x
I've no doubt there would be some about!
Great hunt Mish! Congrats on the early silver! The big coils sure give you a workout!!! 👍👍
It sure did, between that hunt this week and a recovery attempt with it this morning, my arm is quite tired!! Cheers Ray. :)
Cheers :)
Great hunt! I might have to look into a larger coil for my detector.
It's fun, but heavy on the end of the detector shaft! I'm glad I nabbed one.
Cheers :)
Ok. Suspected you cut out a lot of junk scenes, who can hunt and not find lots of junk. Enjoy your video’s tremendously. Thanks for taking us along 👍.
Awsome vid 😀
Thank you! :)
awesome vid Mish, feeling the fun you had though it was a bit of an effort with the larger coil.
love video and good job
Thank you so much 😀
Lead sinker's can also be sold for scrap.
They sure can, I've done it in the past however now I'm saving it up to make more dive weights. Cheers :)
Hey Mish,
I have the Minelab Vanquish and most of the 22 brass I've dug was an 11 - FYI. Love your vids.

Cheers 😄
@@DirtFishMish Thanks for the reply, I need to invest in one of these. Keep up the good work on the videos 🙂
Do you sometimes have a hard time using the pin pointer on the. KC to locate the target . ?
Are you referring to the nox's inbuilt pinpointer function? It's definitely a little more tricky on the 15" coil, but given I was using a large scoop it didn't matter if I was slightly off with my estimate. The hand-held pinpointer takes over once I know I've dug deep enough. Cheers :)
@@DirtFishMish no just in general. Seems that sometimes you could be off target
@@plugsfordays648 that's more my impatience than the detector 😂 the 11" and 6" are normally pretty dead centre of the coil if the time is taken to pinpoint correctly.
Praia maravilhosa ótima para caçadas.
I will be underwater here in a video later this month 😊 Cheers!
Thx for the video. I liked it. Hello from Finland :-)
Hello from Australia, and thank you! :)
Awesomeness..
Cheers Dan 😄
Hi mish first time viewer love the video would love to see Ur setting on the equinox for park and beach
Hi Mathew and thanks for watching! A settings video is in the planning stages, I promise 😊 cheers.
Nice vid 👍
Thanks, Hans! 😊
Good job on the silver m8
Thanks mate! :)
Cheers :)
