SUPER HELPFUL video! As a female crabber new to trotlining (about to embark on my first trotlining season this season), your video was really detailed and a great help! … I can tell you love crabbing! 😊… Thank you!

I've been studying crabbing all year long while trying and error. This guy has the knowledge It takes and finally I get to run a 500 ft trot line in northern md.

Another great video. It's nice to hear the perspective from fellow crabbers. I prefer using strand 1/4" soft lay with 1/8" snoods from my boat, since it's easier to work with. I can even use 600' of the same line in my kayak if I'm using chicken necks. If I'm running clam bags on my kayak, I use #5 loktite, since it takes up less space. I look forward to seeing your first trips of the year.

Capt Matt you look very familiar as one of the chiefs I have worked with in the Navy. I am very glad to see someone putting out the knowledge on crabbing. That is one thing that I miss about the Hampton Rds area is the crabs. Bravo Zulu

Great info Captn Matt! I may have missed it in the video but can you tell me how you attach the snoods to the loctite main line? I have seen some attaching with slip knots in the loctite and overhand knots on the end of the snood. Is the snood end just passed through the slip knot before it is cinched up?

Hi! Thanks for the video. Can you tell me which is better. Snood or clam net for baits? Which one catches more crabs.

I run a 1000’ line made of #8 loctite, it’s never knotted on me.
