- Papa Roach vocalist Jacoby Shaddix had issues with substance abuse and suicidal thoughts during the making of The Connection, and while Jacoby detailed his spiral the band talked about seeing his pain and helping him with a self-intervention.

I know how it is to have suicidal thoughts.I deal with it every single day.But you,Jacoby,showed me that there's a way out of this hell.It's hard to fight against it.But thanks.Music keeps me alive.
Stay strong Jacoby! Your fan base is getting larger and larger and we as fans are here to catch you if you fall. I've listened to your songs for a long time and it would be a tremendous loss to the rock world if you no longer participate. Substance abuse has no prejudice, so it can affect anyone. You are so humble and that makes you even more appealing as a performer. Just get back to your passion and let the cards fall where they may. We love you Jacoby!

This video is once again proof of why I love this band and the people in it. It's amazing to see they've got each other's back and be honest and pure. I struggle with depression now for a long time, but their music has helped me through a lot of that over the years.

way to go guys i know its been a couple years since this video and your album the connection was your newest album but I want to thank you guys for sticking together through hard times and helping eachother i belive it has made you guys stronger and improve as a band. Knowing thatt you have someone by your side when you are stuck in bad thoughts or bad times that bring you down its good to know you have someone looking out for you. I can't explain how the connection helps me everyday it helped me though my family problems you guys were there through music saying that everything will be okay so thank you and i am so happy that you guys are still going on strong today you guys rock and I love you more than you will ever know.
Way to go Jacoby!!! Addiction is a bad thing and many don't overcome it. With God anything is possible! I 'm living proof! Rock on!!!

I've been a Papa Roach fan for a very long time. I listen to a lot of bands, but this band is something else. I've bought every album and listening to their music has gotten me through tough times. I feel at least there's someone out there who undstands me through his music. Jacoby, maybe you've felt weak in your life but your fans love you, and you may not realize this but you have saved a lot of people from that similar depression you must have felt. So don't give up, and keep rocking!

Jacoby, I love your music, they've supported me through the hard times, I can't even know how it feels to have a substance abuse situation, I know,being happy is difficult, I believe in you , its just, we are all in this together. Love you bro, and don;t fuckin believe that shit line, "be a Man", you are always OK just as you are.
That's what it's all about. To sum it up, it's basically about being accountable for your actions and finding strength within yourself to get you through the bad times.
I'm not a fan of their music at all. But I am a fan of anyone who comes to grips with their issues and overcomes them. Stay strong man!

fear heloed me get through my opiate addiction when i was losing my mind i fucking hayed everything but the wrist bamd i caught from jaccoby in spokane wa said rock and roll saved my life and it did skeletons heloed me through losing my wife because i was a junkie and she found out
