As a ram one trick, this is absolutely based. Support and dps players defend it by saying “oh but it’s zens only util” - 🤓 but they don’t know how hard it is for tanks who have to frontline and can’t just wait behind cover for two seconds.

@@user-wh4fx4cn1t literally ask your dps to pressure him or pick a dive tank and zen crumbles. You can't just one trick a hero and also ignore other forms of counterplay and say another hero is unfair because you won't play around him.
If you want to erase the tank we use the melt duo, zenyata and bastion, even with nano they die.
I would add Brig as a counter to Wrecking Ball for supports. More often than not, Ball engages your team while on high speed. As a Brig, if you keep hitting Whipshot while he’s hurtling towards your team you will ruin his momentum/Displace him, preventing him from getting value from boops while his entire team is open to attack.
That's only for low elo. As a gm ball one trick, I try to go for engages where the enemy can't see me in the first place. It's about coming from "unsuspecting" angles, or at least places where enemies aren't able to hurt me in the first place
As a brig main, that mostly works in lower elo, im a masters peak and when you get to that point the balls get smarter and are a LOT harder to anticipate.

As a ball main I don’t worry about Brig… at all, lol… I’ve never had issues with Brig. 🤷♀️ Not many heroes can touch me tbh. With ball, you either get really good with him or just completely suck at him lol. I have more issues with sombras only because I can’t see her! Lol
As baller, brig if played right can be pure pain - whipshots canceiling your roll trajectory, shield bash too, when rallying best bet is to wait and she is healing everyone while doing all that
Okay but the counter for literally every dive tank is just Brigitte. Trying to play Ana into a skilled Doomfist is like trying to pour water on a grease fire.

One of my favorite matchups against Hog is Orisa. You can fortify to stop his Hook on you, outrange him slightly, eat his ult with javelin spin, and deny his heal with your javelin. Just don't fortify during his ultimate.
why not fortify during ult? if you dont you will just be sent off the edge or backed into a corner and killed.
@Zander Aab it will keep you from getting pushed back and all of the pellets will hit you at a closer range and you will die faster.

@GreatGrungus They probably wanted to try to keep the video short. However, as someone who plays quite a bit of Orisa, I apologize for the rest of us xD When I pick Orisa and see a Hog it's like a nice tasty snack.
For road hog sometimes I like to use bastion because of the fact that road hog doesn't have many defensive ability's and he can really run away from you but just something that I like to do.
I would also say Junkrat is another good counter to Ball cause his traps are a good way to halt Ball from moving and make him an easier target, and since Ball moves around so much, it's hard for him to see traps when he is swinging around so fast.

I love that blizzard is coming out with more supports (I play support) but i think it’s time we get some new tanks it just feels like the same ones get played every game

Me personally I think symmetra is a great counter for sigma. Just because she can beam right through his kinetic grasp and every time he puts his shield up she could just gain ammo/hard light.

1) If a TP is put right in front of the tank its gonna die instantly.
2) If it doesnt die instantly, whoever's going through it is gonna get hit by a critical headshot, or Anti, or junkrat mine or helix rocket etc. It'll kill the squishies at the very least.
Sigma has no counters, just picks you can annoy him with.
The move from 6v6 to 5v5 caused me (and many players like me) to stop playing tank. It puts a ton of pressure on you and is hell for those of us with imposter syndrome. I never felt comfortable taking that spot away from someone else who could be even better than me. Especially when I always feel like an eternal student. At least with 6v6 I could contribute while knowing that if I messed up there was someone else to help. It also let me take queues from the other tank. I wasn't even a bad player, I just know i'm not the best.
Funny thing is, I actually go Roadhog against Sigma because he easily breaks his shields and hook him out of his kinetic grasp. Just be carful about his rock so you don’t get stunned out of your heal.
That's what I was thinking. I feel like Orisa is the more clear cut counter. Two ways to block hook, never fuckin dies just like hog, and a javelin to stop his heal.
Sombra to counter Doomfist is maybe a better idea i think
Yeah. Once he lands on your team, hack to take away his escape and then dogpile him. He’s very weak without his abilities
Personally Bastion is also a decent counter against ball when he turns into a tank. Usually shreds through balls health fast even when ball uses his shield. Most of the time bastion mostly just scare them off (from experience). He may not be the best counter, but it has personally worked very well for me.
As a ball player imo bastion does nothing, sure he scares ball off but he's super diveable without the tank form

Dva's a great counter because not only does she have the high spread damage which works on winstons hitbox, she can chase him down when he tries to disengage for health. Other tanks like Orisa can peel but Dva can finish the job.

I always use roadhog to counter DVa and Reinhart. Because hook stops them from doing anything they want to do, especially their dashes) and then their huge hitbox means you can pump em full of scrap and theyre done in like 3 or 4 shots. Plus you can use your inhaler to just tank self destruct
Rein's actually an easier matchup than Winston and Winston's SUPER easy!
@@MarlonOwnsYourCakedva is actually one of the best tanks to pick against roadhog, she can just matrix your hooks, and if hog tries to escape she can just chase him down with boosters, and her missiles and shotguns are very good against hog massive hitbox, also his head hitbox is big too, so dva just shuts him down in every aspect.
@@user-kf3is7bt2v but you can hook dva through matrix and knock her out of mech in just a few shots, depending on the map, hog can eliminate her ult with him, and he can also face tank her ult with breather and then stop her from re meching with hook. Personally, I have never once felt the need to try and escape a dva as roadhog so I can't speak to the chase down aspect. It's usually them running away from me with boosters, which also can be stopped with hook mid flight and (depending on the map) dropped into a hole or at least a bad position. I'm not even good at overwatch but dva has never been anything but smooth sailing when I'm hog.
But I have always wondered why if I'm doing well as roadhog the tank will always go d.va, then reinhardt, then zaria or orisa (which actually ends up being a problem) so it's nice to know the thought process behind dva
@@MarlonOwnsYourCake dva is too tanky for you to hook her, also her supports can heal her and restore her to full health, and if you ult her, she can just fly away, and also you can’t hook her off the map if she has boosters, that is why she is so good against him, and depending on distance, she can just matrix every shot, people literally pick dva to shut down hog, because hog’s huge hitbox is perfect for diva’s shotguns and missiles, and dva is tanker than hog with her armor, but I agree with you on the rein one, unless if it’s a brawl map, then rein will be better then hog, rein can just play corners, and if he gets hooked, then he can just hide go back behind the corner after being hooked, and his shield can block hook , also he can pin or shatter hog if he tries to use breather,
@@user-kf3is7bt2v nah, I'm hooking everybody but orisa. With D.va, you just have to wait till she uses booster just like hooking rein every time he uses charge. You just hook her and then stay on the side of her so matrix can't block the shots and she's out of mech before you're out of scrap. Easy peasy. Plus any way to get the enemy tank to disengage is an advantage

as a ram player ana is a really good counter since ram relies a lot on his supports so her nade can pretty much shut him down. plus she can also sleep ram ingoring his block so she can be a really big annoyance to him
It seems the consensus in higher ranks is DPS being the most impactful role. Not the strongest, but the most impactful. That is, they have the biggest influence in the outcome of a match. With one less tank there is so much more space by definition that DPS now NEED to get picks. Yet sadly even in Masters 2 80% of all players still can't play without a shield to hide behind.
one funny thing i discovered is that if you go kiriko you can completely waste doomfists ultimate by cleansing at the right time, every time i do it they just stand there looking at me shocked
also id say shes pretty good against doomfist due to her ability to heal long range and teleport out of bad situations

How do you make the shield or friendly attacks red. I've made my friendly colour red but it doesn't work
Reaper is a great counter for ramatra, specially on nemesis form
Junker Queen against Winston. Your melee attacks with Queen get more value than those of other tanks because of the bleed, which also heals you. And her Carnage can tear right through the shield if you're close enough.
She's mobile enough to engage with Winston when he's near, and enough of a threat to deal with his team when Winston is not near. Her war cry might also save an ally from the dive, and the best of all if you hook him with the knife, and he goes to jump away you can yank him right back to you.
When I'm playing as a tank I usually go with Sigma I find hard to play against Zaria, Winston, or even Rein if my dps picks is like hanzo and genji or something that doesn't do much damage. I think the main counters against tanks are DPS heroes like Reaper against Winston, Bastion against Rein, symetra against Sigma, junkrat and sombra against ball. And tanks are really good against dps, eg. Sigma against bastion, soldier, and other hitscans, Winston against sym and genji. Imo these are basic counters and a lot of people still not aware about it.
I was just in a game with my friend as lifeweaver, other team had Hog. Every time one of us was hooked, our LW would lifegrip him out of the hook. It was a hilarious game! Hog was not happy, I think he only had one good hook till our support went LW.
for any Dive frontline, I would go Junker Queen because Jagged Blade to pull them back and also shotgun

Sym and Zayra can counter Orisia hard if used correctly, Orisia can’t block or fortify well against them when they are powered up
I heard somewhere that jq is a good counter to ram? Coz he's squishy in omnic form and her shotgun loves his big hitbox

I would say sigma counters doom pretty hard as well , the rock can knock him out of his block and the right timing can knock him down after his ult. I love hitting dooms with that rock
Other then the occasional rock hit in your backline Sig is bad vs Doom. Slow projectiles vs fast movement. He ignores shield and grasp.
I’m a doom main and if you allow yourself to get hit by a boulder as doom, you’re doing something wrong
Good JQs will be really durable with the heal they can generate, Ana is a better counter, nade juste shut her down completly (and indeed if she is paired with a kiriko, you just switch)
I'm surprised u didn't mention bastion but to be far he kinda just counters a lot of things
Bastion seems to be the top pick for most of the tanks, other than zarya, sort of dva, and the occasionally scared roadhog (aggressive ones will get melted), no tank will really have a chance against him. They either run to cover opening up the area for your team, or they get shredded and deleted by him. Especially rein and ball, usually they have to run if they want any chance.
Sigma can eat all your projectiles tho
@Surice89 its not long enough for the entire duration of your tank form, and his shield gets blasted instantly, so he isn't at all hard to deal with.
@psychomoth06 I watch sigmas and get them on cooldown of either of their abilities. It's not a 1v1 game, so most of the time, all I need to do is wait for a good time. Sigma can handle a bastion, sure, but he doesn't counter him, and as the tank sigma rarely can save all his stuff just for the one character interaction. Especially after the buffs
Then your experience has been very different from mine, lol. Because as Sigma, Bastion almost never gives me trouble. The ONLY time he’s a threat to me is with a very stubborn pocket healer and/or shield tank. But even then, that tends to be only if the DPS isn’t doing its job at taking out support.

I am just returning to the game and play Ramattra a lot. If Ramattra is my "stone". On which Tank should I focus on learning, to counter potential scissors? This kind of video would be so much appreciated. If "x" is your main, learn "y" or "z" to answer your counters

I’m not sure about playing mercy into dva as a counter. Like yeah I guess it’s okay but dva can def chase you as mercy bc of her boosters. I’ll be honest I’m very happy to see a mercy on the enemy team as dva.
Imo the best support to play against her is probably just ana or Kiriko and just trying to ignore her

Rock paper scissors is exactly what I say playing tank is like, I'm glad you said that at the end. I basically am trying to learn every single tank so that if the enemy swaps to someone to counter me, I can just swap to their counter.
You should watch some unranked to gm series to understand that nobody can't counterpick u if u skilled enough. Even t500 players (with best game sense and knowledge of the world) chokes vs any korean owl player in lobby

Me myself after learning from quaked i became able to play around most of df counters

When I Go dva I utilize her infinite ammo by just spamming it non-stop unless it's like genji or something. Idk at low ranks and qp you can usually just faceplant on your keyboard and probably get a win or two!

As an Orisa main, my favorite pasttime is cancelling all of Rein's charges and pushing them off a cliff. It's so immensely satisfying. Negating's Roadhogs ult is also pretty high on the list

I would like to Suggest to anyone trying to Counter Ball as a Tank to go SIGMA.
Sigma is the single greatest tank to play against ball. FIRST OFF
He can COMPLETELY 100% counter Ball ult with Just his sheild alone.
When balls ults. You just Push your Sheild through it and its gone in the blink if an eye and it can clear a path out of it if he surrounds you with it.
Next
He can Knock him out of the Roll with his Rock. You just stop him from being annoying when he's near yall and make him disengage as much as possible.
Sigma also has the ability to sheild off potential threats to your team and protect them while you turn away to go help the person getting dove by ball deal with them or deal with the ball yourself.
And also the blackhole will help you have green health just as often if not more often than the ball so you'll get your ult just as much as the ball.
And lastly the most annoying thing balls do is stall and stay on point by spinning when everyone else is gone.
With Sigmas ukt you just hit the Classic Yoink Off point in Overtime and It's bye bye ball.

Lucio kinda counters Dva because of the boop also pretty much all shields just counter ramattra’s ult
This guide is pretty off tbh. You want to jav doom when he’s blocking because he’s meant to sit there and block damage and when you jav him it cancels his whole use of the ability. Plus if he try’s to punch you back you just use fortify and he’s dead. Orisa is direct counter for doom because he is a cc tank and Orisa is anti cc.
Now for Orisa… you don’t wanna play ball into orisa because as I just stated she is anti cc and ball is about bashing through the team, creating them to look behind and not pay attention to oncoming damage, and get a pick. Zarya would be a direct counter to orisa cause her beam goes right through orisas whole kit and orisa does not have the movement capabilities to get away from a max charged zarya.
My guy the reality dive comp counter orisa and doom one of them if the counter can't deal with the hero directly doesn't mean it's useless

When I play Rammatra, I love it when Reins get low on health and hide behind their shield. "You know I can punch through that right?"
As a rein I am always very much aware that ram can punch though it am just hoping to block all the other damage long enough to get healed.
Its a habit! And it's better to keep the shield up as Rein to block other damage sources, so that a healer can come save my stupid ass. I always hit once first so that I can tell if I have a shot at just killing Ram with my hammer (I usually dont)

As a ball player, rein does absolutely nothing to ball. You might get pinned from not paying attention every once in a while, but you quite literally roll it off. He can't get close to you to do enough dmg, and if you use the grapple properly, he can't block your dmg either. If you're in his back lines he still can't do anything, and if you're distracting the supports(not being able to secure a kill) rein dies due to the lack of healing.
Although, hog is a really good counter to ball from his hook and really high dmg, but still easy to work around.
Orisa is better if you just block him from touching your team. Don't focus him too much though, it makes it really easy for ball if you use all of your cooldowns on him before he goes in. I've won a lot of fights because the enemy tank swaps to Orisa and doesn't know how to play her giving me a easy win.
Ball countering Sigma? Not technically wrong, they're kind of neutral to each other where neither have too much of an advantage over the other. Thinking about it, you're right, but I'll keep my original comment there. Every time I fight him, I push him off high ground or in front of his shield forcing cooldowns, so yeah, he counters him pretty well.
Not sure about Winston, but from what I know you're not wrong.

Good doom fist players are the hardest to deal with. I swear they make their block cd feel like 3 seconds short

In my opinion the most annoying to play against is doomfist. I mostly play characters who can’t really die to doom, but watching my main support or dps get dived and killed is really annoying. He’s also the highest skill imo so I mean, it’s good dooms getting good plays, but still it’s annoying to watch everyone die to a doom and nobody killing him (or the reverse and watching everyone peel while the dps frontline and kill us).
Tbh i feel ya as df main but let's be real compared to the other brain dead low skill high reward heros he's completely fine he's bad and take a tonne of skill to manage to make him looks good

Not necessarily. Tanks with shields are hard to keep discorded (even Sigma in certain comps), and though I can usually melt a diving tank, they're either focusing for me immediately or not in my line of sight. Roadhogs and Orisas are screwed, though.

I feel like a good counter to ram is ball because ram can’t hit much punches to ball due to ball’s quickness
I normally play JQ into Ram, I've always found him as an easy kill atleast as JQ and if I don't get a kill on him I usually bait out cooldowns
me on my way to pick Reaper to counter every tank (it works somehow)
I hit masters only playing Ball and never swapping, and even I hate going against Ball. Whether I'm on Ball or playing supp/dps, I hate playing into Ball. Even still, nothing is more nightmarish than playing into a Doom that knows what they're doing

As a ball main can't agree with you in tank hog in support ZEN and in attack reaper mcree bastion tracer echo and sombra because they nerf the hack duration junk trap for Hammond equal to death😂
instead of picking a hero to counter zar, use fundamentals. bait bubbles, call them out if you can, push after every bubble unless she's glowing, stop shooting if she doubles, but then its like 6 sec till the next bubble and 10+ after that for the following, you can team crash bubbles: at 2 its ~ 875 health @ 1 it's 675 and @ 0 it's 475, use range heros, zar sucks when teams are spread out: snipers, flyers, divers, those are all solo-grav matches lol
and if you play dva into zar, please stop fighting on the ground or next to the zar, zar can't fly, abuse that
I’ll be honest- brig should have been the support against ball. Teammate getting dove? Repair pack. You and a teammate getting dove? Just hit ball once or twice and you are both safe! Ball trying to run into your team? Whip him away! Ball already in your team? Shield bash then whip him, it’ll miss place him devastatingly! Ball trying to do anything? Rally!
I love how the counter to half of the tanks is just pretending they don’t exist lol
As a sigma main i hate everything with lasers. A good zarja, symetra and mei are always hard to play against
playing against a decent sigma or wrecking ball is very frustrating; i feel like it requires your team to cooperate which is the most random variable of the game itself
Thats why zen, dps Moira, and Ana are so impactful. With so much parody atm it's safer to error towards more dmg.
The heals are already accounted for as its safe to assume that most healers will heal. What's not accounted for is healers going dps. That's why ppl like awkward are so impactful. It's not like youre gonna run into a sect of soldier players that just run around healing ppl.
But most ppl cant think for themselves 💯
replace moira with bap and you're correct. even awkward will tell you moira is by far the worst support and has the lowest damage per second in the game. zen bap and ana tho can pump out serious dmg...even kiriko tbh.
@@ZSonnenblick Not really, her grasp dmg is consistent and her dmg orb supplements it a lot. I've been maining Moira for a while now and 9 times out of 10 I have highest healing and dmg numbers rivalling both teams' dps. Her dps is objectively low, but her overall dmg output can be incredible if you know what you're doing
@@DaciGotYou another quick comparison. Take torb and widow. Nobody expects widow to have high dmg. It doesn’t matter. Bc widows goal is to hit one shot kills. So a widow can have 15 kills 0 deaths with only 3k dmg. Meanwhile a torb and his turret can have 8k dmg and lower kills. Or if the torb manages to get one dmg on an enemy that dies they get credit for an elim
That’s why Moria alwyss has so many kills. U just need to deal a single dmg to somebody and if they die u get credit for a kill. But if ur not getting the final blow urself. Where’s the value. I’ll take that widow over torb
Just like I’ll take the bap / ana who can secure a kill and final blow much easier.
Total dmg doesn’t matter. Anyone can shoot tank for ex and pump the numbers
@@ZSonnenblick yeah I totally agree which is why I didn’t mention kills, they’re basically irrelevant in that sense. Also, when Morias dps they typically fade into the enemy backline and take out the supports - so not just mindlessly dmging the tank. All I’m saying is Moira dmg can be good value, don’t write it off

You’re not gonna beat a bap zen ana or brig in a 1v1 at a plat level. Kiri could land a couple kunai or just tp away. Plus in higher rank tanks and dps know how to peel. So then comes the concept how to deal dmg. U gotta off angle. And be able to do it from a distance
If ur really fond of the flank gameplay. Strong recommend “awkward unranked to gm kirkiko” sickening win rate. And she’s the best support flanker. U distract enemy at an off angle. Hopefully landing some kunai and u have an easy tp out to safety
If u enjoy Moria tho to each their own I only meant this whole time that raw numbers on scoreboard r meaningless. Anything Moria can do another support can do better with added untility
The plus tho is she requires zero mechanical skill so if ur ever trying to just have a more chill game and not sweat to hard I can understand why somebody might choose her.

I wouldn't say orisa is a hard counter to doom, sure her kit can absolutely screw him over, but if he just ignores her and aims for her backline, there isn't much she can do
Exactly. Doom has no need to fight her. That’s how you should play against Orisa in general, just ignore her and focus the backline.

As hardstuck bronze tank player i HATE going against orisa because my supports always go zenyata or moira and dont heal at all
