We didn’t keep any heifers this year simply because of the feed issue, ugh. Lol, who wants to be a mama? 😂 Nice group you’re left with there, hope you find the feed at a reasonable cost.
Nice mild weather is making it easier on the feed stacks. My cows are really fat so they are getting a little more straw in their diets now since it’s so warm, save the greenfeed and hay more for later. No snow so they are still grazing a bit with their hay. Bought a load of bred replacement cows at Clyde yesterday. Your calves look good in the ring!!! Our heifer calves will leave later this winter. Hopefully they gain well enough to pay their feed bill this year. Sure debatable keeping them around.
Enjoying your videos.. perhaps while your getting your “ cowzersize”, to make it more fun you could sing to yourself Corb Lund’s, Everything thing is better with some cows around… remember happy cows, tasty beef… lol…👍😉
I hate sorting keepers and shippers when they All look good. Usually for us, it's more of an age split. Too young to breed, they go. Too bad Chad doesn't calve out heifers... I'm sure he'd pay top dollar 🤣😂
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselinI’d rather be infested with lice then calve heifers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍. I almost cracked on some ripping nice black angus heifers yesterday though. Had to sit on my hands.
@@chadtosh6831 lmao 😆😂 I know!! You are so set against heifers.. Pros and cons.. we know what their potential is, but have to deal with them. You don't have to deal with them, but after the first round, you know if a cow stays or goes..
@@GosselinFarmsEdGosselin about 4-5 rounds is my sweet spot. They would never make it that far if someone was sick of their crap. 🤣👍. I was bent on buying a Hereford yesterday to replace the one I culled, but there wasn’t one there out of 700 bred cows. First time in years I haven’t had a Hereford. 🤔🤷♂️
If you mean why I am choosing one heifer over another, I'm looking at body length, width, (we call it volume) and over all composition (symmetrical). It's hard to explain, its 40+ years of looking at cattle and even with that someone else in the business might disagree with half my choices. It is a subjective process. Hope that helps.
@@AlbertaRanch Thanks! I’ve always wanted to visit Alberta. I’m from Montreal. The only part of Alberta I’ve seen in person is the Calgary airport! Take care and good luck with your ranch.
Very nice set of heifers, your quality of animals sure stands out
Thank you.
Very nice group of heifers.

You sure gave us a few good laughs with this one. Hope you are able to find feed.
I hope so too!
You got a really nice bunch of ladies there...but having enough feed to grow them 8s key hopefully you find it
Or suffer the cost of buying bred heifers.......decisions.....
Nice looking calves! Very good condition. Congratulations on the sale and hope you can hang on to the rest. 😊
I hope so too!
Hi. Just watched your latest video and live your conversations with the ladies! Keep em coming!
Will do. If I just talk to myself one may consider me crazy.
good Looking heifers... good luck find feed for them
Thanks, economically feasible feed would be the key 😁

This the third time I've responded to your comment. Not sure what's up with the old you tube. Maybe this one will actually post?
