    I just had the vet surgically remove 3 growths on my dog’s skin. She’s a medium size mutt. The first growth on her paw on-top of the toe ,it was the largest of the three, and the size of a chickpea, it started out pale white and then it got darker black. The other two were more elongated and smaller. One was located under her back leg and the other was on top her back near her tail hard to see because of the fur. Vet is sending it out for biopsy to rule out cancer. In the mean time my dog is resting with a cone on her head and pain meds. I’m Back in 2 wks for stitches removal. Xing my fingers everything will be okay with results. Total cost $650 usd including nail trim. Expensive but worth the peace of mind and my dog’s wellbeing and comfort.

    If I don’t get the tag RIGHT AT skin level, will it leave a little bump? Also, what is the likelihood that the tag will grow back afterwards?

    • @bmell1252
      @bmell1252 2 года назад

      Well, my dog just had a skin tag grow right back, in the same spot. I’m watching it until it’s large enough to pull off completely. Which I thought I did last time. Ironically, this is the first one that’s grown back of my 3 dogs that have had one, except now, the last one had two. I asked the vet to remove it and they told me it was a skin tag, not a wart and not contagious either. The vet said, “I should leave it alone & I’d just be wasting my money to remove it.” So, I’m gonna do it my way, again just for cosmetic reasons, I don’t want to look at it right on his snout! It took 2 years to decide to grow back. Then BooP! It started growing again.😊✌️

    • @amandahugginkiss61
      @amandahugginkiss61 2 года назад +2

      I did this on my dog. I wasn’t able to get it RIGHT AT skin level but it was pretty close. Took 3 days to fall off and you’d never know anything had been there. 10/10 will do it again. Note: it was recommended to me after I tried this with dental floss that a human hair is strong enough but much thinner and therefore works more quickly so I’ll be using a hair next time (if there is a next time).

    My favorite method is to just “yank em off”. It bleeds!!! But no trimming hair unless really necessary. And don’t cut it off, it’ll just grow back. Use a styptic because it WILL bleed a lot, but should stop in just a few minutes. DO NOT use alcohol after you’ve removed it. Use hydrogen peroxide instead. Alcohol just makes it bleed a lot more. Good Luck.
