The big Swede was knocking the 9rx pretty hard at the beginning. But I had a good chuckle when the little 9rx had to pull the stuck quad out of the mud! 😂🤣
Now my Sunday is off to a good start having a Larson Farm Video under the belt. Taking screens off the house and hanging wood storms. 3 floors old Victorian. Last person in New England left doing this Fall chore. Wish I was in the fields with you guys.
Rain, rain, go away, come again another day!!! S.W. Lower Michigan here. One day this weekend we had no rain. Well that didn't last very long. Raining right now and it's in the forecast for the next day too. Seems I just can't get my leaves blown off the grass on time this year.
I am absolutely loving the daily videos.. Thank you to all the Larson Farms staff even the ones we don't see on camera often. (Gramps n grandma n Amy also all the driver's we never see)
Be glad the rain came in north central Montana we are still dry, we used up or sub moisture with nothing in the ground for next year now, you have a good shot for a crop next year now.
I'm thinking.. just leave them outside til winter really gets here, then take the air chisel out and knock all the mud off. That will work. then wash them in the spring after a couple of rains. PERFECT !
Big Sweed, humor with a dead pan face and knowledge of his avocation, if I had a daughter ( actually I do but she is married ), I would be chasing you myself for her.
Best day of the week is when Larson farms has a new video out. Stats for harvest 2021 Yankum tow rope 1 Case and grain cart. 0. Dougo I think it's not quite time to put the pontoon away,as you might need it to get corn to the road. Back in the 80's we had to wait till December and January to get corn out of the field and we had to load wagons on the road and we had a 8440 on a 400 bushel grain cart and it was tough going harvest. Good Luck with the rest of harvest and hope you can get some field work done.
In my day we had to get the backhoe out to dig the grain cart out. We are in southern Minnesota and we got 4000 ac out with a split between beans and corn before the rains came.
Get another loaner tractor with wide tracks and another big Yankum or two. And a belly aircraft wire rope cable setup to avoid hot bits & Turning bits.
Oh what fun it would be sliding around in the mud with some big iron. In my days we thought big iron was a 100 horse tractor, two wheel drive sitting out in the weather, dust and bugs. When your ready to let a old timer have a go at it just let me know and I'll be on my way. Lol
Old farmer… you remember them days? Lol me too an I remember when my dad first put me in the seat .. was an old 60 JD with the hand clutch an I was not big enough to snap the clutch out so Dad just had me shut it off to stop . ( yea he would snap it in an jump off an run!! ) lol them was the good days! Now we have air cond. heaters an?? Music ! Wow it’s amassing what 67 years does in upgrades! 🤣🤣🤣
Glad to hear Dougo reflect on Nicole in the last video. How refreshing to hear fond memories of Nicole. Please keep them coming it make for better video
Wow those Yankum ropes are awesome if what you just did doesn't break it what would Love the Big Swede's glasses and blue hat Maybe you could keep an extra quad trac in field just in case You never need what you already have
Another great installment of Larson Farms! For the last forty years, I've set out on MN wildlife areas hunting in the Fall during harvest and heard the grain dryers running from the time I get out there well before sunrise until I leave well after sunset. Until I started watching the Larsons and Mr. Johnson, I always thought the driers were just "start 'em and let em go". Man, was I ever wrong! Thanks for all of your work out there on the farms of America, guys and gals.
Time to break out the Yankum ropes and borrow a Big Bud from the Welkers. Five inches of rain in a relatively short amount of time on your heavy soil and it turns to mush. I shudder just thinking about washing the combines, tractors and grain carts with all that mud and stalk debris. I agree with Erik: I am very happy with my F-150 XLT.
Not for compaction, but for traction, many times skinnies work better then floaters. Of course, when skinnies stop working, they're far harder to get out because they're closer to Australia when you finally say "I'm stuck"
Floatation is great if you can get traction. I plow snow and the narrow tires (pizza cutters) are hands down the best. I suppose narrow tracks would be better in shallow mud... deep mud you're probably worse off. Mud I'd rather get pulled out of shallow 20 times than deep once.
October 24 here. 3 to 4 inches of rain last 24 hours. Crops are only partially out. CreeksAre out. We haven’t had frost yet. It’s going to have to freeze unfortunately now before we get crops out. Looks I like it
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting. Good to see Dougo on Martin again. Go get em Dougo. Sorry all of you are fighting mud. Nothing worse. Hope you can get some good days again. The skinny tracks on the Deere did better than I would thought. Eric did good with it and did not get stuck. The case got stuck but you got it out fairly easy. Oh my the weather. Lots of clean up duty now. Hope the fields dry up some for you all. About it for now. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks. The Iowa farm boy from years ago.
My brother name is EriK with a K. We used to live and farm in Elk River MN. He now lives in white Baer lake MN. I really miss MN. Strange weather year for sure!!
1986 we had the whole month of October where we couldn’t move. Finally November I started to harvest corn in those same conditions. NOT FUN AT ALL!!! Been there done that. You guys will get err done just keep positive.
Big S I'm a Ford guy also and I agree with you. I hope yall answer this...with them cutting back on fuel type vehicles and close to 40% of corn going ethanol have yall considered any other crops? I'm in Texas and the oil industry is suffering
We deal with mud all the time in our rice operations. Drain the fields prior to cutting but they never really dry up..It is a mess...I feel for you guys
Man I was so glad you got to use the yank'em rope. Worried there for a little bit you weren't going to have the chance to use one. No more Drugo. To now called Chet'o.
You need to get a full size big screen TV inside those machines of yours with a beverage holder with temperature control in a vibrating seat with a foot warmer
maybe Yankum needs a product FakeFloor or MudMat that you can roll out and create your own solid surface like you use to get traction to get out of icy and muddy areas with a car/pickup...
The Big Swede going on about running the show....all we need is a "Don'tcha know" and it would have been totally Minnesooota.
I never see Dougo happier than when he's takin' a spin on Martin.
It's his Happy place . 🤣
I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but you are so lucky to work with your best friend.. makes life so much better!
Good ole Dougo and Martin right off the get go
it's not a good video unless we have Dougo in it
@@chief3378 totally agree. His wisdom and knowledge put out there in Dougo fashion just makes the video
Best opening shot ever!!! Dougo waving like he's in a parade that was priceless
Once again the green one saved the red one ! Keep the videos coming Chet.
Back in the 80's we farmed 1800 acres with seven tractors and three combines. DougO will tell you that the 80's were tough.
God bless the Larson farm family.
Well we certainly don't have your problems out here. We could use a little bit of all that rain you are getting!! Sorry for your troubles.
I really like this man and his desire for cleanliness
The big Swede was knocking the 9rx pretty hard at the beginning. But I had a good chuckle when the little 9rx had to pull the stuck quad out of the mud! 😂🤣

@Dougo, You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you smiling while riding your fav. vehicle.
A service manager told me several years ago that running RWA all the time took some of the strain off of the final drives. Made sense to me!
That opening shot of Doug driving Martin in the shop was priceless! Do not envy you guys dealing with all that mud. thanks again for the content!

Those big grain carts need rear wheel assist on them. Which would be a powered, towed unit. Big price, but could be made.
Definitely agree. No reason they couldn’t add hydraulic drive motors in the hubs - same as the rwa on the combines.
Great video as always! Keep em coming! Praying for you all!
