    I have the Bounty Elite and the herb kit that came with it was a month out of sell by date. The Basil is growing tall as is Thai Basil but the 7 other pods didn't grow anything. So I sprinkled Catnip catmint seeds in those pods and I now have loads of catmint for my cats. I don't cut the plants I just let them grow. They grow very fast much better than soil pots. It's a 50 watt light on the Bounty Elite so plenty of light. Just a pity Amazon sold me a unit with 9 out of date pods. But at least two Basil plants are growing as well as countess catmint plants. My cats will enjoy. Great growing system.

    Thanks so much, I just bought one of your harvest models a couple of weeks ago and my herbs are starting to sprout. The dill is going crazy! XD

    Love my aero garden, the Thai basil and the Genovese basil grow very quickly blocking out the lite and killing the other plants because I couldn’t prune fast enough. I planted both basil plants in a pot they are growing well but they require a lot of water in the beginning. I am now growing arugula.

      Basil plants tend to be the fastest-growing herb varieties in our Gardens. This means you'll need to prune them first and stay on top of the pruning throughout their lifespan to ensure they don't grow up into the lights. If you prune them early on it'll give the other herbs in our Garden a chance to catch up so that the basil varieties can't take over the whole herb garden, though as a whole you will always need to keep an eye on them. They can get pretty big otherwise!

    This and other videos should be available on the app. I did not receive any clear instructions with my AeroGarden regarding detailed cleaning of parts, root management and pruning care of herbs.

    Thanks Ma'am. I am growing green onions in my aerogarden as well. Could you do a video on how to trim back green onions? Thanks.

    Hi, I have a 6 pod and 7 pod models. Are the cages and sponges the same dimensions for all models?The water level in the 7 pod model seems to be much lower than the 6 pod model. This cuts off the immersion depth for these he's.

    What to do with the pruned portion? Save it for later or throw away?

    I just set up my garden. There is one grow dome missing in the kit! Will the pod still grow?

    • @Liza-pe9xp
      @Liza-pe9xp 4 года назад +1

      most likely they still will sprout. Although I think dome helps a lot, but it works fine without it too

      the same happened with me, I spoke to customer service and they sent me a new pack of domes, they did however suggest using a shot glass until they arrived!

    I received an Aerogarden on New Years day, and am enjoying it so much! (It's a Harvest Slim.) All my herb pods are growing beautifully. I understand from your video how to prune the basils and the mint. However, I'm not seeing where you are cutting the dill and the thyme. Could you clarify this, please? Thanks very much!

    • @AllFouRoux
      @AllFouRoux 2 года назад +1

      Thyme is easy. Prune anywhere as much as you want, so long as it is less than 1/3 the total plant. Dill is also easy, you can prune it like basil or mint, or you can prune it like parsley and both are fine (again so long as you don't take more than 1/3 the plant). For more detail about dill, you can cut above a leaf set (like basil) or you can cut the entire stem down to the label like parsley. Dill will grow bushier but also grows more stems from the center so there is no harm removing a whole stem.

    What is the best planting distribution to help with the growth? Is it better to put the big growers in the middle or outside?

    • @sultannurdaulet6592
      @sultannurdaulet6592 2 года назад

      They recommend for aesthetics and pruning reasons put tall plant at the back and medium height in the middle and the shortest plants at the corners.

      If they are taking over the bowl and getting in the way of the pump, you certainly should. Just leave a couple of inches below the cage.

    I really like my Aerogarden, but for a plant/herb kit that basically takes care of itself, I’m amazed instructions like this for the small amount of work you do have to put in is not included with your seed pods. I’m glad I found this guide, but way too late as many of my plants have grown very large and aren’t as easy to prune or shape anymore. Very disappointed instructions weren’t more available and pruning wasn’t even suggested in what was included...

      I agree, 💯, they should have included in the box directions for pruning and storage. Not everybody does e directions or tutorials.

      @@roddyrodrodrod Spoon-fed on how to use their products? If you’ve ever planted anything, you’d know that growing these things strong in the limited space provided is nothing like dropping a seed in a plant pot and calling it a day… 😅

    I have something growing in with my thai basil that isn't thai basil. I have an app that typically tells me what plants are but it keeps saying it's pot. But it's not.

      I'm not sure what it is, but when I go on walks in the forest (in the lower peninsula of Michigan) I regularly see a plant that looks vaguely like pot but isn't. Maybe that will help you to figure it out?

    I agree with some other commenters. This info should be included in the instructions. I started my herb garden two months ago and it doesn’t look anything like this. The dill took off and I kept raising the light to accommodate it and the other plants have barely grown. Had I known, I would have immediately pruned the dill back. I guess I have to toss all the plants out and start over. What a waste of my money that could have been easily saved. Very disappointing!

      Mine just sprouted last week. It’s been 55 days. 🤷‍♀️ My basil and parsley have already been harvested/plucked 3-4 times, and my thyme is getting pretty insane.
