- OM VAJRA KILI KILAYA SARVA BIGHANEN BAM HUNG PHAT
This Tibetan Buddhist mantra is most powerful for removing obstacles, destroying forces hostile to compassion, purifying both the mind and the spiritual pollution of this age, transforming negativity and sickness, bringing about wellbeing and enlightenment. When the great Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) first arrived in Tibet, the first transmission he gave to his 25 “heart disciples” were the practices of the Varjakilaya Tantra.
Vajrakilaya is the yidam deity (ishtadevata in sanscrit) embodying the illuminated activity of all the Buddhas. Wrathful yet compassionate, He is the deity of the magic thunder nail, the kila, a device of the sharp adamantine point of dharmakaya, a wisdom forged through the power of one-pointed concentration. This ‘one-pointed’ focus is a concerted mindfulness on the unity and interdependence of all dharmas (destinies). This one-pointed focus is understood as ‘applying oneself fully’.
Varakilaya is the wrathful manifestation of Vajrasattva, arising to purify the source of all suffering, which is ignorance. In His hands He holds a Phurba (Kila), an ancient Vedic instrument going back to shamanistic practices.

@@TheBasskult mantras like this one are very powerful, and don't necessarily have a translation that is to be expressed in 'regular' words and understood by the ordinary mind. It is an invocation to the Tibetan deity Vajrakilaya (Dorje Phurba) in order to ask for protection and to get rid of evil and negative influences, both internal and external. It also gives one-pointed concentration and boosts meditation. The more you practice it, the more you 'understand' it ; )

You can use a Phurba of any material. But iron is most powerful for keeping ghosts and demons away.

Puedo saber que budismo es y de que origen?
We need to repeat the mantra with the video or just listening to it is enough?
As you prefer. If you do it with devotion towards the Divine, that's the best.
You can chant the mantra, but until you've received a Vajrakilaya empowerment you're better off just chanting the Mani mantra. It's better to listen to the video throughout the night while you sleep.
@@chilliecheesecake Don't need an empowerment for the mantra. Just for visualizing yourself as the deity.
Translation, please.
To those who insist upon finding translations for mantras, a cursory google search couldn't hurt. That said, mantras oftentimes don't have direct translations into English because oftentimes the "words" aren't actually words but bija syllables or divine names that describe certain energy patterns in the form of sound vibrations.
That said, if you insist upon getting a translation for the mantra, it approximated to, "O Vajrakilaya and Diptachakra, please utterly cut through and smash all obstacles!"

shamanic mind purification? This is a buddhist practice. You need to receive this mantra transmission and empowerment from a Guru of a valid buddhist tradition. The mantra doesn't work hearing from youtube publicly in this way. It may produce confussion and problems for those who are not being introduced to this buddhist practice from a buddhist teacher.
Yes, exactly you are right.
@@jigmetskalzang462 Thank you very much.
For one, it's common knowledge that Tibetan Buddhism is the product of Mahayana Buddhism integrating with the indigenous spiritual practices of Tibet, which were always distinctly shamanic in nature. But more importantly, according to my own Lama one can chant the mantra of most Deities, even wrathful ones and this includes Vajrakilaya, with some benefit as long as one doesn't attempt to generate themselves as the Deity or visualise the mantra garland within oneself--he was very clear on this matter. And that's only when it comes to *chanting* the mantra of Yidam Deities; he went on to say that to simply hear the mantra can benefit anybody regardless of their qualifications, because it can create wisdom imprints upon the mind that can inspire someone to pursue the Dharma in this life or in future ones. He even encouraged listening to such recordings on repeat throughout the night as one sleeps. He further stated that whoever creates such recordings will accumulate the same merit as actually chanting the mantras out loud whenever someone listens to recordings of their chanting. The notion that hearing mantras is useless without receiving empowerments in them is not only baseless, it is to try to diminish their power. If we can be blessed by mantras that have been carried by the wind or that have been radiated by prayer wheels, then why would they not benefit us by hearing? This is not uncommon knowledge. Mantras can bless us by being heard, seen, touched, tasted, etc...
My friend, it is important to look out for the welfare of others so you have the right intentions here, but policing innocent activities like recordings such as this that don't actually disclose secret teachings or practices simply isn't necessary. We should be grateful that outsiders have the opportunity to be exposed to Dharma traditions in a way that doesn't compromise the Dharma or the spiritual evolution of others. There is nothing wrong with hearing mantras as long as one understands that they're not actually receiving empowerments in these mantras.
@@chilliecheesecake Thanks for your reply, but I think you are misinformed. Any serious Vajrayana practitioner knows that: 1. Most of Vajrayana is not Tibetan and 2 Most of Tibetan Buddhism is not Vajrayana. Tibetan Buddhism is a public term used to refer to Vajrayana (in most of the cases) and usually confused by a syncretism/mix of Mahayana and the indigenous tibetan religion but that's not true. By one hand, Vajrayana came to Tibet from mostly Nepal and India. But also, a precursor of Zen arrived earlier, as well as other mahayana teachings. In the other hand, The indigenous tradition of Tibet known as Bön has been influenced by Vajrayana over a long period of time, but they also have their own system of practices.
So don't get confused. There's a tradition in Buddhism to do the things in the way we do, specially in Vajrayana. Keeping these kind of practices out of the public eye or secret doesn't mean that no one can have access to them. it simply means that you need to have a certain knowledge of Buddhism foundations...at least the basics and/or receive these particular teachings and practices from a guru / teacher of a valid tradition in the vajrayana Buddhism. Again, this doesn't mean that you cannot hear a mantra from internet/youtube, but if you want to use it for your own practice, then....you need to follow the "official channel", so to speak. If you really care about the welfare of others, then you need to think of them and point them in the right direction. Otherwise, instead of procuring the welfare of beings, you are confusing them.
Warm regards.
@@RinchenPhuntsok Sounds like you're just making presumptions about what I do or don't know about Buddhism. Meanwhile you clicked on the video, you watched it, then you complained, then you pretended not to complain when someone addressed your grievances. In any case, I'm not going to offer a second opinion where minimal room has been left for one... especially when we're literally trying to say the exact same thing. You already know what you know, and that's that.
Marco,
“No hay mal que por bien no venga.”
On the one hand, you have enhanced my Buddhist practice of Vajrakilaya by making this mantra recitation easily available. I have received the wang and lung for the deity, the sadhana practice and the mantra from lamas in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.
On the other hand, you present it with no attribution of its source, and no acknowledgment of the tradition in which it is rooted. Your characterization of the mantra as a “shamanic” practice seems disrespectful of the tradition. Perhaps those of us who see it this way are mistaken. If so, perhaps you could enlighten us?
It has been long established that Tibetan Buddhism arose as a synthesis of Mahayana Buddhism with the indigenous spiritual traditions of Tibet, which were distinctly shamanic in nature and this is certainly no secret. What is so disrespectful about the term "shamanic" anyways? Tantra itself has many overlaps with shamanism, and that's not disrespect, that's just a fact. And everybody knows that Vajrakilaya is a Tibetan Deity, the illustration in the video is distinctly Tibetan in its style, so why is the onus on the one who posted this video to tell us what anyone watching this already knows? You said you benefitted from this video, so what need is there for you to nitpick over perceived faults in the one who posted this?
Zelda Spur
Please Marco, you're presumably no Lama and don't have lineage so don't play around with this kind of material. Leave buddhist transmissions to the pros. There is a good reason if people go through a long retreat process, you know. Not respecting that process is jeopardizing the Dharma. Thank you Marco.
Excerpt from a reply I posted to a similar comment on this video:

The person who produced this video has made no claims of offering transmissions. Garchen Rinpoche himself wrote his first book quite recently on Vajrakilaya and openly stated he was making certain hitherto-secret teachings available to all and sundry in this age of dregs, in keeping with ancient prophecy that as the conditions of the present age worsen, Tantric teachings will become more openly available. So in this book he did indeed encourage people to engage in retreat processes if they had the ways and means (and not everyone does--some people can't afford it or are working so much to support themselves and their families that they can't just stop everything to go on a retreat), but are you going to say this minted Lama who paid his dues is himself jeopardizing the Dharma? And he even described certain sadhana in his book that was made available specifically for the benefit of those who *don't* have the luxury of going on accomplishment retreats. This kind of hypervigilant policing of the Dharma simply isn't necessary.
@@chilliecheesecake thank you for an interesting and on point reply. I may have been overpolicing as you say, I see that, but you also might be over-relaxed about the risks taken by random guys broadcasting buddhist mantras as they please, without an advice of caution and some kind of introduction on how mantras should be handled and understood, beyond sheer advertising of the "remove negative forces !" kind. Marco's channel looks like a mish mash of spiritual stuff from all over the place and mantras shouldn't be treated as just another item in the new age shop, can we agree on that ?
By the way, I hope for Marco that this video is in no way monetized. Also, I'm sure you'll agree that as the phenomenal master he is Garchen Rinpoche can say or do a lot of things that wouldn't be wise for myself, yourself, Marco or any other civilian to replicate.
@@antoinepecquet3147 I don't want to come across as rude so you'll have to pardon me if any of my comments here come across as overly-spirited or hubristic, but I think this is an important matter that must be tackled fearlessly. Any cursory google search can lead one to find the Vajrakilaya mantra, including from reliable, well-dusted resources that aren't just broadcasting these mantras for fun. This isn't some great secret that must be concealed from all and sundry for the protection of all humankind, and in fact in this age of dregs Vajrakilaya's sadhana and mantra are more important to healing the planet than ever before. I'm gonna have to respectfully decline your offer to look through the uploader's account and to thus assess their personal character based on their online activity because frankly I don't see the benefit to be had from it--I'd rather examine myself and my own flaws than those of a stranger because my own flaws will be much easier to fix, hah. We don't know the uploader's background or how much he's been taught on the matter, and I would rather give him the benefit of the doubt. He didn't do this with the intention of hurting anyone or cheapening the Dharma, and since I've not seen any ads when I watch the video, I can only assume it's not monetized (if I'm wrong here, then the uploader may be in deep shit unfortunately). On another note, no one said anything about anyone being able to replicate the activities of Garchen Rinpoche--this is just an innocent (or so we can hope) recording put together for use during meditation (and Garchen's own book on Vajrakilaya goes into how beneficial such recordings as this are, both for the listener and the one(s) who make the recording). For me personally this video has been of enormous benefit to me as I play it at night on repeat to great effect. That's what's most important to me here; if the uploader has some negative motivations or is just being sloppy with Dharma teachings, they will have to deal with that when their time comes, but in any case it's just not my business.
