Probably my favourite song from the RHCP with Californication and my favourite solo of John Frusciante by far.

This is pure awesome! Anthony is 100% with no wrong lyrics, flea as always perfect, Chad cooling the monster inside and John just being John, getting comfortable back

I can't get over this beautiful performance. I think part of it is the history of this song. Knowing that AK and a 21 year old (21!!) John composed this beauty on a rainy night after AK spilled his guts to John. It still means everything today the same as it did in '91. Freaking amazing.

Anthony’s vocals are really on point here, didn’t he write this about sinead o Connor ? Maybe sinead would have stayed on the right path and they both help each other through their problems , sad that sinead went so off the rails

Beautiful version, they're really sounding like a tight unit. I feel like John found the sweet spot between the minimalist from Californication and the guitar hero from SA.

John’s totally back after seeing the clips from this show. What a set list, vocal performances, and solos. Makes me remember such great memories of the past hearing live renditions for the first time and getting all the goosebumps!! Now if they just increase the tempo slightly on this, otherside, and californication we’ll be tapping those old energy levels

Horrible sound man. I was sad about it.
I was on the 100€ ticker area and you could only listen to the drums and a distorted voice and bass.

@@coldacre I felt in the 90s he wasn't this good with melodies. His solos were more aggressive but not melodic. So I love this side much more

Senior year in high school, 2013, driving to school and work in my hot rod 1988 Chevy truck, this album was on repeat. I played bass in a trio at the time, copying what I could from Flea. But it was John's guitar that really shaped my mental frame of music at the time. Of course I play guitar too, had been for like ten years at that point. But sometimes when I hear this song, I can almost close my eyes and teleport back to the exact feeling I had listening to this tune, seventeen years old, smoking cigarettes, thinking I had the entire world figured out.
Dammit.. I can't believe NOS Alive (Portugal) booked them for 2021 and then, when the festival got postponed, they didn't book then again! Absolutely gutted! :'(
