That was the best wheel hub transformation using a wire brush that I've ever seen!

Perfect video. For those looking to do this make sure you have a bottle of PB Blaster on hand, no cheap tools either. My 05 v8 xc90 has 195k and I am the second owner...never needed to do the brakes and rotors until now and let me tell you, for the people who do not have a lift and are bigger, roon is going to be your enemy. Floor jack is recommended. Once the PB did its job, things went smoother. Ty again for a great explanation and tutorial!

This video was awesome! My 17 year old and I just did a brake job on his 2008 XC90. I'm very handy around the house, but never really did much with cars. So easy to follow and understand. Thanks!

Thanks for the great video,I replaced mine today, did a lot of cleaning, I was planning to paint the callipers but with my bad back, I got really tired, also couldn't tightened it more than 40 degrees, will do next weekend. Appreciate your videos, I think my rear rotors and pads still good.

Is this the best quality out there? Idk lol all I know is I just replaced my front struts on my Volvo. It’s doing well now one month in. I guess I’m feeling good enough to buy these rotors. The videos though 👌🏻 super helpful. Thank you.

How do we measure the rotors when ordering new ones? I noticed they were different sizes on website

The way i do it, I like to clean and paint callipers always, just spray with heat reistance paint, after good cleaning, thus preventl the rust and dirt falling on new discs. Thise dirscs are verry good quality, dont know about new pads, are they ceramic ? And i use calipper press, some cheap tool. And also i open brake fluid tank cap when pressing in callipers, or just release vent screws also. After all painted clean and in place I like to air purge all brakes by adding smal hose with bottle, and to release the sludge mixture which usualy sits at lower point in caliper cylynders. Takes 5 min to do this, before installing wheels and its always black stuff comming out like 50ml, and then clean brake fluid shows up, then I'm tighten vent screw, after all add some brake fluid 50-100ml to refill to tank and tighten cap. Its' just the way I like to do. Also always use some brake cleaner to clean factory oil of discs, before installing new pads. Also add some cooper paste on pad corners. Thats just how i like to work on my own cars and it keeps lasting discs, rotors, pads cleaner for a longer time. Thank you for video.

Thank you for these videos! Can you comment on if the performance brakes are directional? It looks like the direction of the slot features is one way in the video, and the other in the thumbnail graphic. Thanks!

+MN Melby Thanks for checking us out! Yes, they are directional and the veins should be sweeping towards the rear of the vehicle as shown in the video. 1aauto.com

According to the Volvo service info you are not supposed to lubricate the caliper slide pins. Just clean them and reinstall.

Question: do these vehicles use a wear pad sensor or anything like that? I’ve never heard of early model Volvos using such a thing but I may be mistaken.

What black magic did you use to just gently nudge the caliper piston back with that pry bar? Mine would not do that, but luckily I realized I had the wrong rotor size, so I get to try again next weekend

This makes no sense the Bosch bp1412 says it fits this vehicle and it clearly doesnt. It appears some companies don't know what fits what

The pads he took off were still at least 90%...
    Hmmm...
Wonder if they sold the owner a new flux capacitor when they told her she needs brakes..?
