  • Evergreen magnolias are very resilient and respond well to pruning, During this video, Steve demonstrates how an evergreen magnolia has responded to an initial heavy pruning that was necessary to return an evergreen magnolia back to a suitable shape and size.
A video showing the initial pruning several months earlier can be seen at: • How to Prune Evergreen...

The best time to do this should've been included in the video.

It really depends on the climate where you live. In my location (sub tropical) you can virtually prune these at any time. But in cooler environments, I would recommend after they finish flowering.
      Hope this helps

How did you made them so dense? Mine only grows taller but leaves fallen in the middle of the tree

What climate are yours growing in? Mine are in a sub-tropical environment. Perhaps that is a reason for the difference?

Good Day! Both videos were just awesome! My magnolia is just all over the place and just not sure how to care for the tree. I've seen other videos but just wasn't cuttin' it, or pruning it. Your videos are straight forward and clear! Thanks!

Is it a Virginia Magnolia? It has no brown on the leaves.

I think the plant you are referring to is Magnolia Grandiflora. No, this magnolia is not that one. It is in fact a variety of Magnolia laevifolia x figo. Sometimes referred to as "White Caviar". It can grow to about 4m high and hedges very well to about 2m.
      Hope this helps :)
