Had my 2022 xt for a year now. Brilliant bike, ride lots of green laning in the UK. Simple job to change front sprocket. I use 15t for laning where there is some road work and have covered up to 90 miles before reserve, power valve fully out. Also ridden it in 7 trials competitions but only on the easiest route as the turning radius is not tight enough for middle route sections and that's with steering stops removed and forks raised in clamps and bars rolled forward a bit. Use either an 11 or 12t front and wind the power valve in 1 to 1.5 turns to slow things down a little. Maxxis trialsmax tyres with 10psi front and 8 rear. No reliability issues in 900 miles.
Watch the thermostat, it will rub through the radiator and cause a leak. The breather on the fuel cap comes off easily and sprays fuel on you as the nipple has no bead, I lock wired mine. I also lock wired the stand bolt as even with loctite it came loose. Added an in-line filter as I kept getting overflows from crap in the needle and seat.
Curious if you had to rejet the carb as mentioned below? I have a 18' XT and been on the fence about putting a pipe on it. Would like a little bit more top end. Great video!
I had an xt and my opinion of the shock and fork is that they are garbage. The motor is good, it has a different kind of weird handling characteristic. In tight stuff the front end hunts and that's more prominent at speeds. Also, it pushes during on the throttle exiting corners. That said, it works fairly well at slow tech speeds. My buddy has one with wp open cart forks valved for single track. And a Lanier shock, extended 3mm. His bike rides more like a regular bike....its pretty good.
People buy these bike for enduro and then complain about the soft forks, this bike is a cross between a trials and a enduro bike, thats how the forks are supposed to be
@@juledoren Late to the game....but I just got in line for a '22XT. I think it'll be perfect for a 60 Y.O. with two fake knees and a twisted spine. I've been shopping for a KLX300 but they seem unobtainable for anywhere near MSRP. I'll be in the Beta $1000 more than the jacked up price of the Kawasaki.....for a LOT more bike. (Or a lot less if we're talking weight..lol!!) Dealer said May....can't wait!!
It's too stiff. Made for the track, and you can't tractor it quite like the Xtrainer. Also, the whole RR frame is larger and the bike is taller, which means I can't put both feet down when I'm on a slope in the woods.
Damn i sure hope i can ride well in to my 70's like these two gents..👍🏾
Just ordered my 2022. I can’t wait

I really appreciate your insight and honest views. I’ve just picked up my 22’ XT which still has 0 miles. That will change very soon, thanks again. 👍🏻
How are you liking it?
I love the Maico sticker on the wall.....big bore 2 stroke monster of 1980

Good helpfull info. Thanks
How to fix the thermostat rubbing problem?
Thanks for the info
Beautiful bike
If it’s good enough for him it’s good enough for me.
Yea but he rides 50 other bikes too !
More video of Geoff riding the xtrainer would be great.
You are in luck, Rob. We just dropped Geoff ride impression of the X-Trainer: ruclips.net/video/6QEVZLKLjWY/видео.html
Hi so 300rr exhaust pipe fits on the xtrainer or no. Did you have to jet the carb.
Nice video! Thanks 👍 Loving my 2020 XTrainer.
Ride on. Stay safe ✌ Subscribed 😎
Yes Roberto my YT is from 2016

Great video 👍🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed it, Chis
can you put turn signals on this 300?

Thats because the xtrainer is made for trial type of riding

So after all these mods I don't have to jet the carb.
Wondering the same thing. I want to add the FMF gnarly to my XT
Is it a good semi beginner bike
Does anyone know if the ballards pipe for the 300 rr will fit the 2022 300 xtrainer?
turn the background music and maybe someone could understand what you're saying lol
Is the RR pipe a direct bolt on? 300RR?
Sure is! Slots straight on
Did you have to rejet when putting on the pipe and taking off the spacer?
What pipe is that. Who makes that pipe?
Beta 300 rr Standard pipe
You put RR pipe and you didn't remove the restriction plate in the airbox ? Come on man, there are a lot of hidden horses there. It is a free mod.
Thanks for the feedback, Riste. We'll take a look at the airbox
why not just buy the rr if your changing it up with rr parts and changing the characteristics of the design of machine... just buy rr

What is the target weight is the XT setup for ? I’m 180 , would it be on the softer side for me ?
